  6. It's a Vietnam case, Vietnam dial, 2824 movement with Yuki movement spacer, jk horological hour and minute hands (aged by me) tiger concept second hand, Vietnam 7206 bracelet , I aged and re polished everything including buffing the bezel until the teeth wore down for a more used look ,insert is an aged Yuki with athaya pearl. As@Nanuq, says I'd start with a cheaper build to cut your teeth, then it's not so bad if it goes wrong, Sent from my Lenovo P2a42 using Tapatalk

  8. @LifeTrekker, that's a Big Crown build, and a darn handsome one too. What's the old saying? "Jump from the frying pan into the fire"?? You might do well to tackle a simple 1680 build first, get the hang of researching and sourcing parts, and putting it together. There's a whole lot of fun in that! Then start looking into a no-crown-guards build after you've learned the ins and outs and frustrations of the hobby. Don't burn out early. For a 1680 build, look for an old MBW watch or parts. Barring that look for an MBK. They take gen spec parts and ETA movements. Mine in the photo is a bone stock MBW and it's plenty believable on the wrist. I've already got a pile of parts to upgrade it too.

  21. +1 Cromag, Rule #1 should be "Patience!" Patience with TD's, patience with shipping, patience with emails, patience with PM's, patience when shopping for parts, patience with message board responses, patience when selling, patience when buying .... Rule #2 should be "Don't be an a$$!" Do what you say you're going to do, be honest when buying and selling, don't waste member's time, do your own research before asking for help, don't charge back transactions, understand that stuff happens in this hobby and don't over react when it does .... Once you past those two, everything else becomes easy ...

  22. ARF it´s the ¨name¨ of the factory. Probably A. and R. are the inicial letters from the first, last names of the founder. This is something recent from these latest two years when suddenly so many factories made same/similar models, that somehow we have to distinguish them and in the beginning was v1, v2, v3, but the orders were quite misleading as the latest v was not necessarily the best, and each month there was a new v, there were factories which were already had a kind of name or nickname, for example the Noob factory, which got the name from making beginner or noob watches formerly, than they started the top quality ones, and now we have these similar sounding ¨names¨ which are strange to us, but at least easier to distinguish Currently there are about 25 high end factories and not sure who makes up their names... I am sure no one uses chrono, because it´s more like a decoration, even for the gen, it´s like the 5th button up on your blazer, it´s there, but you never use it
