  1. "Yep, that is correct, 5512 PCG's are slightly thinner. No idea on the exact height." "I don't know the exact thickness. But I've had this discussion with Rolojack and he informed me that early 60s especially 5512 PCGs have thinner midcases." Some additional 5512/13 information (may have to copy/paste the links): http://hypebeast.com/2012/2/retrospect-1961-rolex-crown-guard-submariner-5512-chronometer-version https://www.tapatalk.com/groups/vintagerolexforum/couple-of-sub-questions-t37447.html https://rwg.cc/topic/186246-phong-5513-pointed-crownguard-case-rehaut-opening-question/ https://rwg.cc/topic/189490-rolex-5513-with-pointed-crown-guards-pics-of-during-and-after/

  9. Now stage by stage: here is the case after shaving the upper part and refinishing beteween the lugs/engraving. It's with family undergoing the same treatment.... Next stage is the top of the lugs reshaped, and the sides slimmed Then primary mirror finish on the sides... I drill the lug holes after. So the polishing does not dig too much metal around the final hole. Laste stage, after drilling the holes is cutting the bevels and shaping the CGs. Et voilà ! Final polishing. Then aging and re polishing. Result is above... Thanks for watching !!!

  10. Interesting thread. Dbane is correct afaik. 5510 is 27mm. 5512 & 5513 is 26.05mm As dbane said, early 5512 were designed for larger diameter dials (27mm). I'm currently gathering info as well on the cases as I'm looking for a nice franken build. Here some photos I found on VRF. I assume the "fake" case is Phong's, correct me if I'm wrong. Case comparison is with a '61 PCG case. .
