I was coming down the mountain in the Red Rover, I have the top off for the summer. Turned onto the paved 2-lane road and was just getting up to speed going maybe 30mph. A huge brown bear was in the grass beside the road and I didn't see him until he leaped up and matched my speed, in maybe 2 strides. He was running along maybe 20' away looking over at me, big as a building. I gassed it to speed up a little and he did too, then started coming across the road toward me. I thought "uh oh" then he slowed down a little and went right behind the Rover, then slowed down to a walk on the right shoulder. Dayum.
