  1. Dear members

    We will today be disabling some of the extra features that you have gotten used to here at RWG. There are 2 reasons for this; The most important is that our front page is taking very long to load. This is because what seems to be non-optimal code on some of the plugins we are using. I have not been able to identify what is causing this, so to be able to pinpoint the "offender" I am disabling many of our extra features. This means that the shoutbox and other stuff you are used to see will be removed for now.

    The second reason I am removing extra features is that I am preparing a major upgrade for RWG. This includes a major software upgrade for RWG. The forums software has only been patched with security updates, so a software update is actually long overdue. The unfortunate thing about this is that the update software is a complete rewrite of the code, so this actually means that most of our extra features will go missing after the upgrade. Some will disappear for good, as there are no plans to upgrade them to a new version while others will be gone for a while and will be re-introduced when an update version becomes available. That being said; there might be features that I will choose not to bring back. Basically, the forum is our "core" content and our main mission will be to keep the forum "lean and mean" so that it loads as fast as possible for users from all around the world. No matter what, we will be doing our best to give you the best forum experience and continue to develop RWG as the best replica forum online.

    Information about the upgrade will be posted within the next 24-48 hours and will happen within this week. At the same time, the forum will move to a bigger and better server again, to be able to better serve you all. We have also changed to a new datacenter that provides better connectivity to all corners of the world, so hopefully the "forum experience" will be a lot better for all of you after all of this is done.

    The upgrade/server move is anticipated to take up to48 hours. During this time RWG will be taken offline. You will all get an address to a statuspage where you can follow the progress and perhaps access to a single "While we wait"-forum thread. But as I said; more details to follow.

  2. :cry:

    Man, how I wish I could have been there, but unfortunately things did not work out this year, with the new baby + my work situation at the moment. I'be been working on my taxes and budgets all weekend, as they are due in a week.

    I have nothing but GREAT memories from last years GTG in Brussels and there is no doubt that Stephane is a great host. I am going to assume that there will be another big GTG in 2010 and I will do anything I can do to be able to attend it.

  3. Hi guys

    Well, the "upgrade" part of the forum software is not that good. I actually have to cancel your current supporter membership to let you use the automated system. So the best way for you guys to do this is;

    1. If you are paying by the month, log on to your Paypal account and cancel your subscription. If not, go directly to step 2 ;)

    2. Send me a PM when you have done this and I will remove your current upgrade here. This will enable you to upgrade again to a higher level through our automated system.

  4. Thank you for the good wishes. I have to say that I think I speak for all the team members and also a lot of our members when I say that I am proud to see the development RWG.cc has had. I think we are developing more and more into a "watch"-forum and not just a dedicated replica forum. Basically a great place to be, no matter what your preference is in watches and I really hope this trend continues, as we all have one thing in common; We LOVE watches.

  5. Guys, the "new" home page was published by a mistake. I've been working on several drafts and I accidentally saved that one over our old one. I've just left it out there until I have the final one ready. And don't worry; you will get your freakin' login box ;)

  6. In partnership with TrialPay, we are giving away free 6 month Supporter memberships. Well, it can be yours for free if you complete one of the offers from one of the many great partners that Trialpay has in your area. So basically uou are getting a free 6 month membership from us if you find something else that tickles your fancy and you purchase it or use a trial product (Different rules apply. These will always be clearly stated as you go through the offers). Some areas around the world are not covered, so you will be taken to our normal upgrade page then. Did I mention that it is a great way to sponsor your favorite forum, so please give it a go;

    YES! I'm going to click here and get me a free membership!

    Your account will be upgraded manually by me within 24-48 hours after we have received notice that you have completed an offer. Also notice that some offers have immediate completion while others take a while before we get the notification. This should be clearly stated on each offer available to you.

  7. Well, nothing here triggers my NOD32 ESET Smart Security Package and no changes have been made on the front page of the forum for the last couple of weeks. I've checked the html that is loaded when the frontpage of the forum loads and it is clean. The virus that is warned about is from 2004, so it's a real old one. Either there is some sort of code-injection from the Google Ads (which I highly doubt), or your Virus program is giving you a false positive meaning there are no viruses here. Might be one of the local javascripts that triggers this, but these are also clean so that again would be a false positive. I will try and install one of the mentioned Virus Programs on another computer of mine and have a look.

  8. As the above poster said; Try using another browser if possible. It seems that some people are experiencing problems using FF when upgrading. I've been trying to figure out the cause for this, but I have been unable to replicate these problems, so the upgrade page works like a charm in FF for me.

  9. Just wanted to share with the members that I am now the proud father of 2 boys. My better half gave birth to a wonderful boy yesterday. A bit of complications for the mother after the birth, but they are both doing just fine now and I'm pretty much walking on clouds here, as proud as anybody can get and it looks like the same goes for his bigger brother. Proud doesn't even begin to describe the look on his 5 1/2 year old face when he held his baby brother in his arms.

    Weighing in at 4250 grams and 53 cm long and in a real hurry to get out. I held him in my arms less than 2 hours after we left the house.
