  1. Why do we even keep this guys thoughts on this site...Phoband was banned from here and I would request we remove any reference of him from here.
  2. thank you and I have asked Josh for a new bracelet. I hope he does the right thing on this for me like Andrew did for you. We'll see. I am usually happy with Josh and his service so we'll see what he says.
  3. You are right and I appreciate it. It does still have some sag. I'm going to contact Joshua. It's a really amazing super rep I just wish the clasp was tighter.
  4. So I will live with the slight sag on the clasp...if doubt the gen has the same issue as Josh said it does.
  5. Thanks. I actually have pretty skinny wrists...under 7 inches for sure...I think the pictures look fatter than they are...LOL Thanks
  6. Oh awesome! How do I do that? Is the Gen the same way? I can't seem to think the gen is like that too...
  7. Hi guys, I just got my DSSD from Joshua today and I love it! It's a serious super rep and so close to the real thing...really great stuff. My only question is on the buckle on the bracelet and the way it sits on my wrist. It doesnt seem to be snug on both sides of the clasp... When it is sitting on my wrist on the back of my wrist the clasp seems to be a little droopy if you know what I mean...the back of the clasp is not tight with the bracelet. It seems to float away from the bracelet where my other Rolex bracelets dont do that. I've attached a picture to see what I mean...this is the extreme with my hand in the air and the way the clasp sits from the bracelet...it's not that bad when i'm not holding my hand in the air but overall seems odd to me and not that way it should be... Is this normal?
  8. Just my luck...I ordered the ultimate DSSD last week from Josh and it has the other insert...I asked if I could have the new bezel on it and he said no...was separate order for those who want to do mods themselves... I don't do mods myself so I decided not to order the insert separately... Then I see today he is selling the DSSD with the bezel mod already done for $438... Not cool as I am getting my DSSD today or tomorrow in the mail.... Here is the new one... http://www.perfect-hour.com/0rlsd00088m-deepsea-dweller-swiss-eta2836-p-8307.html And here is what I ordered a week ago today... http://www.perfect-hour.com/rlsd00088-deep-dweller-asia-3135-p-7924.html

    Wow

It's not very uncool...the guy made a mistake...don't have a cow. Plus those guys at the AD don't know reps and certainly would have a hard time telling a rep DSSD from a gen. They are really close unless they have them side by side and inspect it off his wrist. Anyway...not a big deal. Just don't do it again if you can avoid it.
  10. Nice post. I also just became a VIP member by donating and I'm glad I did. Cool people who really helped me out with my EVO rep when I had problems with Phoband... This is a great place.

    Wow

Thanks for the post because I also have a DSSD coming from Josh this week hopefully. The best is not to bring a rep to a dealer but it's not the end of the world. Jeez they are not going to take your watch but the idea is to not spread to dealers just how good our reps are getting...this gets back to those in authorized circles and could jeopardize our hobby...Nuff said it's something to try and avoid but if you happen to have your rep on and see an AD...either take your watch off or wear the rep proudly but never admit or brag it's a rep...that is a dumb move. Act like it's real. I can't wait to get my DSSD this week!
  12. I say wear your rep wherever you want. An AD will not take your rep and if one ever tried to take mine and throw it away he would be wearing my fist in his mouth. Everytime I've worn a rep to an AD they treat me great and never know or let on it's fake. Only once did a [censored] say to my wife that her Cartier was a rep and we said yes and so what...we walked out and I never entered tha store again because that guy was such an ass. Here in the USA it's a free country and you can wear what you want. I also wouldn't advise going to an AD all the time with a rep on...maybe once if it happens to be a day you have a rep on but if you plan on going to an AD I would wear a gen watch just so you avoid being called out...but I've never heard of them taking the rep as the rep police
  13. Interstingly enough they were only giving a 5% discount if there was no trade in. That would equate to much more than $7,500. I don;t know where you can buy a gen for that price except eBay and I wouldnt do that. I didn't take any pics but should have! It was nice to really feel the watch and see how it looks/feels as a gen because I am going to scrutinize the rep thoroughly once I get it. I didn't think the gen was anywhere near worth $9200 list...or even $7,500 if that is possible. The rep seems to be such a great deal if it is so spot on...
  14. I currently own a gen Sea Dweller bought back in 2005. I purchased it new at this AD chain (Mayors) and really just wanted an opportunity to see the Rolex Deep Sea in person. They had one in stock and I really wanted to check it out as I have a Joshua ultimate V coming with the ETA movt. I wanted to know what to look for when I get it next week (hopefully) and see how it feels on the wrist. Interestingly,. the watch felt great and was not too bulky on my wrist. The one thing I didnt expect is that they would take my Gen Sea Dweller on trade and would give me $3,780 towards the puchace of the new one. The new DSSD is $9,200 list with no discounton a trade in. I think I paid just slightly over $4,500 for the new gen SD back in 2005 so that isn't that bad for wearing a watch for 5 years... They are also offering a 20 even payments option which came out to like $270 a month (for the difference of my trade and the cost of the watch). So, for $270 a month for 20 months I can have the DSSD (or pay $5800 outright). Anyway, I also saw that they had the new 40mm Datejust that was brand new. Those looked really hot in the larger size. The one thing I also noticed about the gen DSSD was it was not super heavy like the breitlings and it looked like a rep! Isn't that weird...it just seemed like a rep to me...So, I am looking forward to getting my rep soon!
  15. I would suggest you take it to someone who knows what they are doing...if you don't have the tool to take off the back...perhaps you should not mess with regulating the watch either...
  16. Guys, we need to realize that there are gen and rep owners on this site and I am one of them. I own a Gen Sea Dweller and was a member of TRF for a long time. I never discussed my hobby of reps there but it is certainly possible to be a member of both forums. The key is to be able to separate the Rep stuff on that forum. We know the most about the differences of the reps from gens because we want our reps to be as close to gen as possible. We know the tiny details on what it needs to look like. WHat I find funny is that these members on TRF think they can some how make a dent in the rep world...very naiive in my opinion. They will never be able to make a dent on it unless Rolex and other manufactuers do something to easily tell gen from rep. As we discussed here, that is highly unlikely. In any case, this is not a us versus them discussion. We all appreciate fine watches.
  17. So sorry to hear this about your daughter. Thoughts and prayers are with you and Ella. Wishing a speedy recovery.
  18. I agree..it makes no sense to me either why the asian copy movt is more expensive... supposedly the same watch just a different movt... Why did you hate the DSSD?
  19. Anybody? I am about to order this and the only thing I have seen is to avoid the Asian 3135 copy movt...is this true??
  20. Which model DSSD is the one to get? Joshua said the one with the asian movt but I am unclear why I wouldnt want the swiss one.... I see the ultimate with a swiss movt for $368.... http://www.perfect-hour.com/rlsd01088-deep-dweller-swiss-eta2836-ultv-p-7852.html And the ultimate with a asian movt for $388 http://www.perfect-hour.com/rlsd00088-deep-dweller-asia-3135-p-7924.html Thanks for your help
  21. That is a very poor assumption. I don't buy reps to appear wealthy or show off. I think that's the minority on here. I buy reps because I am a fan of watches and their specific designs. While I do quite well in my profession...I also have responsibilities to my family and kids and I won't go broke buying all the types of watches I enjoy. So, I own one Gen Rolex Sea Dweller....I own two Breitling Reps and one more on the way soon. I love the styling of certain watches and appreciate their beauty.
  22. I sure will...In fact, I have some extra two tone Rolex links if anyone needs any... I hope to return the favor and would be happy to tell anyone in South Florida to go to the watch guy I went to today. I asked all the right questions and when I got to the "would you work on a copy watch?" he said he would rather not...but then I showed him the issue and he said...sure..I can fix it... After 15 min he comes back and for $20 he fixed my watch...So cool. I'm really amazed at the power of the Internet and cool people who are nice enough to help someone else who has been wronged. It's nice to wear this watch again...I think it looks damn close to the gen...am I wrong or is this rep still a quality rep?
