  1. It's funny, as soon as I saw Federer in his fancy gold-striped track suit, I said aloud to my family, "Ooooh, Rolex is *not* going to be happy that their watch is hidden under that long-sleeved jacket." And then, whaddya know: Roger rolls up his sleeves to make sure the watch is visible when he accepts the trophy. Now *that's* professionalism. Cheers, Ari
  2. From the pics, it looks like they got the case back wrong on the PVD bezel model (the "Night Ranger"). Compare gen: to the rep: Looks like the rep has the case back from the "Overlord" model by mistake ... hopefully it's just a mistake with the pictures, but I wouldn't count on it. Cheers, Ari
  3. I looked at some gen pics ... shouldn't there be a grey ring around the 12:00 and 6:00 subdials? Cheers, Ari
  4. The secs@6 modification would probably be bad news for movement reliability. Cheers, Ari
  5. Like others have said, you didn't get called out at all: you called yourself out. Of course he knew it was a rep after you told him it was! For the record, the following is getting called out: "Hey, check out my watch!" "Ugh, where'd you get that fake piece of crap, Canal Street? I hope you didn't pay too much for it." The following is not getting called out: "Hey, check out my fake watch! I got it for a couple hundred bucks from China ... but doesn't it look just like the real thing that costs $20,000?" "Nah, I knew it was a fake: the bracelet is too shiny." Cheers, Ari
  6. Heh, I'm pretty sure that I'm that second guy he's talking about, and I'm not going quartz anytime soon. ;-) My watch would stop after a few hours off the wrist ... like, every night when I took it off to go to sleep. Anyway, I sent mine back to Josh, and I don't know whether the movement was repaired or replaced, but when I got it back it was running like a charm. Cheers, Ari
  7. Speaking as someone who has one of those DSN dials (5218-202/A), where on earth (or elsewhere) can I get one of these beauties? Just tell me who to send my first-born to, and I'm in ... Cheers, Ari
  8. That's just pathetic. The seller is Goodwill, which is a very reputable charity that collects donations of clothes, furniture, and other items. No doubt, this means that some jackass donated his lousy Canal St. rep to Goodwill -- they probably figured it was a gen (hey, they're a charity, not a jewelry shop) and decided to sell it on eBay, with the proceeds going to benefit needy people. Someone is going to get *very* upset about this one. Maybe this "generous" fellow spends the rest of his time handing out fake currency to the homeless ... Cheers, Ari
  9. Right you are, Bazonkers -- this isn't a Black Monster. This is a SKZ255K1, which I've sometimes heard called the "FrankenMonster" or "FrankenTuna." See also here: http://www.bluedial.com/SKZ255K1.htm Cheers, Ari
  10. Here's my attempt at a 202/A dial. Cheers, Ari 202a_dial.pdf
  11. Thanks! Actually, you should be able to open/edit the PDF directly in Illustrator ... if not, let me know. Cheers, Ari
  12. In case this helps: I used Adobe Illustrator to trace over a photo of a gen 203/A dial ... the resulting PDF is attached, which is *pretty* damn close to 1:1, IMHO. Anyone who wants the original Illustrator file, let me know. Cheers, Ari EDIT: Fixed font from Copperplate Regular to Copperplate Light. (It was too bold before.) 203a_dial.pdf
