  1. Some details in German: Durchmesser: 9,9mm Z
  2. 1,95mm thick, 60 teeth, for 6497. If you are really going to do this count me in for one stainless and one Ti crown. If you need detailed dimensions I
  3. I would expect that the keyless works is messed up for some reason. Not a difficult repair, but time-consuming. You could ask Rex over at RG, he
  4. Well, I paid 30$ for mine. Not quite for free, but not too much either. That
  5. Well, it would have some more space if I had not sanded the CG feet a little. It is a little close, but locks down perfectly on the O-ring gasket and passed the pressure test with flying colors. Thank you! If I only had a few more teeth on my crown... Anyway, better 12 teeth less on the crown than in the face.
  6. Thank you! I got one of that gen Ti crowns... You would have to machine a completelly different tube to install it.The tube would need a wider hole, a smaller outside diameter and a step with a lower rim to support the crown when locked down and a higher part on the inner edge that goes into the crown to meet the main gasket. The two o-ring gaskets on the crown shaft are nice to keep dust out, but would not keep the watch waterproof without a working main crown gasket. So to install the gen crown you would need a gen tube or a tube that is machined to the gen
  7. For some weird reason it seems to have a 48 teeth crown (instead of the correct 60 teeth) like the 036 Ti cases. I thought these crowns only appeared in the 036, not on stainless models.
  8. - Rep PAM 061 with lug ends corrected, Cannon pin flattened and polished (might do a little more), CG corrected. - Pic of the Ti caseback (red background) - Pic of a rep dial with correct spacing but incorrect indices and numbers - Wristshot with lemon tree (rep 061) - Closeups of a gen 118 dial for comparison
  9. The way to the perfect PAM 061 rep: Good Ti case: There are many different Ti cases around. A most important thing is a nice fat crown guard. No reason to worry about the CG of the 036 Ti case, the pin can be pushed out and after drilling the upper hole to 1mm it is no problem to get it in the right way. Getting the upper side rounded is most important to achieve an authentic appearance. Only takes patience and some good sanding paper. Next thing are the lug ends. All rep cases have rounded lug end topsides. They need to be flattened, compare gen pics and the stainless steel cases. The crown: There are disappointing crowns that are not worth to mention. The authentic crown has 60 teeth and is 1,95mm thick. There are nice looking fat crowns that usually come with the 036 case. Unfortunatelly the have only 48 teeth. Davidsen has nice 60 teeth Ti crowns, but they need a matching tube. There is no way to install a gen crown until you get a gen tube as well, because that requires a completelly different tube than what we
  10. As swiss as I am... The base plate is ETA, the gear and balance wheel are 18000 bph, the swan neck... well, have you seen the thread of the regulation screw? something must have gone awfully wrong with that. The only swiss company that does this OP XI movement is Soprod, they build it exclisively for Panerai, with 21600 bph! Something that looks like this one would never be assembled there, the parts would find their way directly into that tin can under the workbench. The CDG decoration is pretty rough, the regulation lever is not dagger shaped, no blued screws even! So this is definitelly an older Swiss-Asian bastard movement, not worth much more more than 80 $.
  11. And of course it depends on the TV program. Is it realy worth a giant wide screen? Or are you into movies and DVD collecting?
  12. It might be possible that the movement got blocked by a loose screw or something. The asian 6497 movements are quite good and usually don
  13. Look at the screw in the balance wheel bridge and answer this question yourself... There is no rep OP II movement with engraved bridges. If you go for Ti it should be 055 or 061, both brown dials obviously, but the closed Ti caseback would be a lucky find. I
  14. Go for the 118, it is a beauty. The CG needs some attention as it will be with the pin upside down. This can be corrected with some work and the correct tool. Then you should get the top of the CG rounded to follow the lines of the case. Flatten the cannon pin, get a gen crown have the dial relumed by one of the artists here and it will be really a showpiece. If you get the dial with the correct placement of the LUMINOR MARINA text and a 061 caseback (closed Ti caseback) your watch will be as close to a gen when finished as a rep can get. Don
  15. It is definetelly the low beat rate 18800 bph movement lke the swiss ETA-Unitas 6497, but I can
  16. And you need to be lucky... Same thing as on stock market. Research, market developement and luck. There is no 100% safe investment in life.
  17. Another thing about gens is that the regular maintenance they deserve to keep their value will cost allways as much as a decent rep. So take care of your gen watch and you will find out that your chances of getting a profit out of the resale value will be not easy. Most watches don
  18. The daytona was not designed for racing. The name was a nickname in the beginning caused by the fact that Paul Newman had one on his wrist when he was at the Daytona races back in the old days. The watch was noticed by several interested fellows, became trendy and the story took its way to where we are now.
  19. Whow, that looks like the water sometimes even gets way over the bridge windows. Must be really unpleasant to see only green water where you should expect the deck.
  20. An alternative to the Cortebert 618 could be the russian Moljna movement which is in fact a copy of that thing, just like the Poljot 3133 is a clone of the ETA 7730 with higher beats. For that you might google for the poljot sellers on the web.
  21. Just my first attempt on watch photos...
  22. Did you find your dealer here? I hope you get what you expect. I came to this place because the experience of a community with dealers having a reputation gives safety. After reading quite a lot I found that there was an amazing knowledge around. These folks here are really crazy for watches, most really love them. It seems that showing some wealth with prestigeous swiss brand watches is pretty much less important for folks around here. Something that makes me feel comfortable. Please don
