  1. hi friend, you wouldnt be able to replace a citizen movement with a seiko one. According to this page, NY0040 17LB and it uses a Caliber: 8203 movement. Good luck sourcing one... edit: having looked at the dial of your watch and the one one the link I dont think yours is a NY0040 17LB model, again, i could be wrong
  2. i think i agree with that too. I never bought a second hand leather strap ever, does that mean buying 2nd hand straps, like the ones that often come up in the sales section is a big no no (from a health perspective)?
  3. I am in UK so I needed a UK seller. I decided to go for RLT Watches: http://www.rltwatches.co.uk/acatalog/Divers1.html They currently have a very nice offer on the seiko watches, almost 50% off compared to some online prices and watch is sent next day delivery.
  4. here is me thinking this was a post about HTML... ah well
  5. you might wanna check the model number to make sure your watch is indeed powered by 7S26 movement, it could be that the watch is using the older movement. Good luck none the less
  6. what watch do you need the movement for? you might be better off buying a new Cheap watch that is using 7S26 movement. Its a common movement in seiko watches. The cheapest 7S26 based watch i have seen is
  7. i guess you can try couoinsuk http://www.cousinsuk.com/catalog/4/205/1969.aspx Although they seem to be out of stock at the moment, you might have some luck on Ofri etc... have you tried contacting seiko directly? Or last resort E-BAY?
  8. to share a few mods that have been done to this beauty: Stock skx007 modded skx007 Custom dials
  9. skx007 uses Cal.7S26 movement. I think you should be able to get one at cousins or directly from seiko.
  10. hi friends. thanks for all the input. Based in the info above and after having read the numerous reviews and mods over at watchuseek forums. I pulled the trigger on this baby last night, should be here tomorrow. I am really looking to the 100s of modifications I can do to this watch, I found a contact over at watchuseek who can supply custom dials, hands, saphire with AR coating... all the mods for fraction of the cost... wow, its really mindblowing. Sapphire with AR cosing around $50. now thats a deal.. The best thing is that I can order the parts and get ANY watch smith to carry out the work without them umming and arring about the "chinese reps are [censored] and I couldnt touch them with a (insert pole name)" quotes... All in all I am really looking fwd to it.. @AMK000: beautiful watch mate, I was in two minds if i should get the Bullet or 007, decided to go for 007 as i can always mod it to be a bullet when I am bored of the default 007 look.. hehe.
  11. i would be interested in a couple of them also, how much are they?
  12. Hey guys, I am looking to but a Seiko SKX007. Been reading up reviews etc and I think I gotta get myself one. Seeing as a few members on this board also have the same model, I have a few questions: * Is it possible to get AR done? Is the crustal plastic or glass? * I saw in somepics that the lume is very bright? anyone got any pics? * my wrist size is around 7.5inch. how does this watch compare to SOSF? I think SOSF is perfect size for my wrist, any bigger and it will look silly, is the Seiko SKX007 roughly the same size? * I am a little put off by the 21, 600 beats, are there any seiko divers that are high beat (28,800)? * what strap combos do you have for your seiko divers? Thanks guys.
  13. Suunto? i thought it was Swiss Army ST4000 watch:
  14. u could try sticky ball, or any other rubber ball for that purpose... i did the same
  15. I am not a fan of em either. imagine a SOSF on this:
  16. thats a beautiful watch mate, i really really like the brown strap version. wear it well mate..
  17. looks like someone needs to upgrade their server :-P cheers for the info guys.. i think i got carried away with some of the nude threads in their "looney bin" section..
  18. all i get is: This Account Has Exceeded Its CPU Quota
  19. thanks for the quick response guys. that has made me feel so much better. phew.... but why is the movement silver and not golden as seen in some pics by eurotimez? do they come in silver too or is this some new kinda chinese rep?
  20. Hiya guys, I opened up my SOSF today (curiosity) and realized that its not 2824-2 as i thought (rightly/wrongly). It has a 2836-2 stamp on it and is SILVER. all the pics etc I have seen on this board the movement is golden. is this normal for SOSF? I will try to post pics once i get home.. Cheers
  21. So thats who you are. MR Rep, I thought I sensed something fishy when I saw your Skyland sonny boy. You should have come clean and told me the truth, with that kind of dishonsty do you really expect my daughter to go out with you or me to consider you a match for her? sorry dude only kidding, couldnt resist.... hehe back to topic: I think now you have lied to him already, get to know him a bit better, talk about his reps and then let it slip with confidence that yours is a rep too!!
  22. LOL. that is some funky looking watch, or 2 of them. wtf is the 2nd disc shaped object he has strapped to his wrist? see pic attached..
  23. for me it was a very close call between Bravia and Samsung, ended up pulling the trigger on the samsung.. it was the glossy finish that sold it to me. I heard a lot of good things about bravia so you cant really go wrong there. If you have a bit more extra cash, I would recomend KURO. highly rated and claimed to be THE best fullHD tv around. I think its plasma... All in all, there are many options to upsample the standard DVD too. buy a standalone upscaling player or do it the easy way on the pc. TBH its close, but no cigar... If you are looking to rip BD/HD-DVD to your pc, I would suggest you make an ISO of the disc, if you have enough storage that is. On average, my BD rips cost me around 40-50GB each. Personally I dont bother with convering/ripping to MKV. too time consuming and lossy. the whole purpose of BD is the hi-def. So again, many many different options there...
  24. ooh never realised there were so many of us here. I am mainly: - COD4 - BF2 - SOSF ;-)
