  1. I won a prize on the last lottery too, except it was five free entries or something like that. Never heard another word...Tried to contact administration but no avail... So do you think I am automatically re-entered in this lottery? Beany
  2. I bought my girlfriend a Chanel J12 38mm with diamonds in the ceramic case, and I am still getting the benefits of that gift! Women love the Chanel J12 and it's got a quartz movement. Beany
  3. As always---TTK is one of our best and most respected dealers...Keep on rockin!
  4. Nice watches. Sometimes off price Asians are just what the doctor ordered. Gotta love the fact, though, that the manufacturers are finally giving Breitling its due. B
  5. Beautiful piece! I am waiting for the TT version with a white face and white dials to come out before I make my purchase. Also, it looks like the rep manufactuerers finally got the Breitling strap down pat. Looks totally authentic. Good job. Enjoy!
  6. I have Datora rep that's a bit too thick versus the gen. I was at Tourneau and checked out the real deal and it's a bit thinner--just enough to make it a lot sleeker and dressier...My guess is that the new generation Datora rep with the Asian 7750 is thinner like the gen...
  7. I know another investor in the Stauer company, and he told me that Keith Richards was also an investor... I don't think there's any secret here...
  8. Surprised by how thick the gen is! One of my pet peeves with reps (even good ones) is that they are always about 2 or 3mm thicker than the gen, making it look like you're wearing a tuna can on your wrist. Let's hope the new high quality $300 reps will iron this problem out. Beany
  9. Keith Richards is wearing his Stauer watch because he's an investor with the company. That's why. Wearing the Stauer watches (which frankly are pretty nice for the money) for photo shoots gives the company added exposure. Like what you're doing for ole Keith by this posting.... God bless the Stones..
  10. Angel and Jay have always been quality dealers...and you can't beat their prices. Isn't it better to wait an extra week or two, or even three, so as to get a good watch? When it comes to reps, there are two virtues--1. KNOWLEDGE (rwg.cc) and 2. PATIENCE.
  11. Ditto. I just ordered the Bentley in gold from TTK...I love the 30s too.
  12. So do I! Could you please PM me with details? Thanks! Beany
  13. I saw a gen Big Pilot at a local watch shop that really nice. If one of my clients doesn't stiff me, and if the shop owner comes down in price some, then I will own my first genuine IWC. And, for those experienced RWGers who said the fake doesn't have the presence of the gen, you couldn't have been more correct. Thanks again for your input on this thread. Beany
  14. Amazing. Beanyboy is still waiting for the nice big P, but may compromise his standards and buy a cheapie anyway. Thanks for the infor update.
  15. I guess not. I admit freely that I would love to learn how to repair some of my reps. Modding doesn't really appeal to me. At any rate, live and let live. The only modding I've ever done on a rep is to toss out the crappy rep strap and replace it with a good quality one. It's amazing how Eddie's beautiful Calatrava 3919 just came alive when it recieved its new real crocodile black strap.
  16. Anybody share my sentiment that the "Members" Trading Forum kind of sucked anyway? I won't miss it. All of those super-Palped, super-lumed, MBW'd, BigRedJoed watches always left me cold. Often people were asking $400 or $500 for some sooped-up Sub that didn't look any better than a Noobmariner. Now, of course, I admit to not being as much of rep snob as some of these folks, but c'mon. Talk about taking the fun out of something. What will be missed is checking the "Dealers" section every morning while having my coffee to see what new watches were coming out. I remember fondly the day River unveiled the new seconds at six Daytonas, or when the good Bentley reps came out last spring...Then the evolution.... Ah, yes, I remember it well.....
  17. Damn! I pride myself on my Breitling collection, and this Datora would have been a great addtion. I may just pick it up anyway and take a chance...The Datora I have now is a piece of junk, although to its credit it keeps time +/- 7 seconds per 24 hours.
  18. Beautiful collection. When I was in college I had a Timex. You've learned a lot in 7 months. I think that's a testament to your intelligence and to the value of this forum. Beany
  19. My advice is DON'T EVER WEAR A BREITLING WATCH INTO THE WATER. DON'T EVEN WEAR IT ON A HUMID DAY! Breitlings are for PILOTS, not DIVERS. A pilot who needs a waterproof watch is NOT anybody I want to fly with, if you know what I mean.
  20. Yes do it! I always liked Breitling. At any rate, we've been through this all before. Trademark infringement doesn't appear to be a big deal, until it's YOUR trademark that's getting ripped off. The "promotion argument" is the best one that pro-rep people can make. However, after you've seen a really, really bad Canal Street Breguet rep with zircons and a slinky "torbillion" movement, you can understand why the folks over at Breguet get a little miffed. Also, Rolex and Cartier spend a lot of money each year attempting to police their respective brands. (Other watch companies appear less interested in policing.) That's money in the profit side of the ledger if nobody were knocking off thier watches. Now, the foregoing isn't going to get me to stop adding to my most excellent and fun rep collection, but I still understand their position.
  21. I am glad to hear it. I was thinking things were getting a little stale. But it's me. I have my eyes on the new Breitling Bentley gold model...so that will keep me happy for a while....
  22. I noticed this year after the Chinese New Year holiday how slow new models are coming onto the dealers sites. In the past, this time of year through June has been the best time of the year for the introduction of new models and improvements on the old reliable one. Except for a few Breiltlings, I have noticed too much. This may be a corallary on the string started a few weeks ago regarding how dealers are disapperaring. My fear is that the Chinese government is starting to crack down making it harder to make and sell reps. My hope is that I just think this and in fact it's not true. Any thoughts out there in replica land?
  23. River sells a model 3919 rep that's dead on. The classic Calatrava. Everybody who owns a dress watch should own the 3919, either a real one or a rep. Eddie Lee may have the same model. It's got the correct back, the face is dead on, and you can replace the strap with a real crocodile version. Beany
  24. We on this board have been through all this before. It's starting to get very repetetive and tedious. Everybody has to understand that PayPal is subject to all sorts of US and international banking and money transfer regulations. It can get into as much trouble moving money for replica watches as it can for al Queda. It's all the same to the regulatory authorities--illegal activity. WHY DON'T PEOPLE UNDERSTAND THAT? And PayPal tracks what's going on so it can see that there's now a lot of money moving in the illegal watch business. Not to mention that it has the Swiss and American governments riding its ass on all this too. This has been compounded by the increase in amatuer rep buyers who discover the good dealers by using RWG and other rep watch forums. We all know the type--they complain that their watch hasn't arrived after four days, or that it's got something wrong with it, etc.--and they lodge a PayPal complaint against the dealer giving rise to even more uneeded PayPal scrutiny. Get used to the idea that we are going to have to go back to the old ways. Let's face it--Western Union isn't that bad if you're dealing with a trusted dealer. I have bought reps from Eddie, Paul, River, Sash, Andrew and Silix and have been happy every time. I will still buy from them even if I'm stuck with Western Union.
  25. Has anybody been stout of heart enough to order the new iteration of the Breitling Bentley in gold with the leather band? I notice it appeared on Miss King's site and then on Andrew's just before the Chinese New Year break. I would love anybody's thoughts if they have one. I have the stainless version in black and, although this thing is about the size of Big Ben, it's an amazing replica with a great movement in it. I think I may spring for the white face in gold. Even the rep leather band looks passable. Always interested in other's thoughts.. Beany
