  1. You can get the bezel off but chances are, you'll scratch the cheap PVD coat and bend bezel in the process. You can try to loosen the bezel with a razor blade, working gently around the head just don't scratch it. Once the bezel comes off the crystal will come off easly, then you can measure it and maybe swap it out with a clark or gen. It's too bad it's such a lemon. Date wheel should be an easy fix depending on whats going in there. TC sell high quality ones for $20.

  2. Why would you need to swap the movement? If it's an asian clone it is supposed to be almost as reliable as a gen ETA. Btw yes you'd need to swap the dw or dw overlay (if it has one) in order to have the correct fonts.

+1 its not really worth it, if you really really like the watch, BK carries the sub C with a gen eta.

If you try to swap in a gen ETA the DWO (date wheel overlay) swap can be a B**** but not impossible. If it were me and I really liked the watch, I'd go first for a gen crystal, then wait till the current movement dies then swap movements.

  3. Hmm, the thread seems to have hit a log-jam.

Having said that, how do you find the Noctilumina? Better than Superluminova? Same?

    Thanks man, lol

I've only ever used the Noctilumina, the blue is great for anything modern. I bought a kit this last time with the blue, green, oilers, binders etc.. I stripped my Star Time Hands with nail polish remover (thank you wife) then applied the green lume to the back of the cleaned hands. It took a few tries to get it just right, but it was worth it! that stuff GLOWS!! you hear guys talk about all night long, This stuff really works 4:00 am and still a torch.

Both the green and blue cure white, When I compare it to a GMT that Vac did to any that Ive done his lume seems more porcelain like (perfection), while mine is a little more powdery or ruff. That's probably because he's pro and I'm a three fisted guerrilla.

The company seems cool to, shipping to Hawaii only takes 3 days

the kit with two colors was maybe $45

  4. I hope you are not referring to Josh's Perfect Clones. He's actually the infamous Mr. Zhao Xiao Bin from Guangdong Province, China. Infamous in a bad way.

His watches look pretty good, but literally every watch my friends and I have bought breaks within a few weeks, or worse they arrive non-functioning. Do not bother sending them back to him for repair under warranty because he refuses delivery of the parcels in China. Twice this happened to me. I stupidly gave him the benefit of the doubt. Twice.

The man is a dishonest, unscrupulous thief. I also know that Paypal is investigating him. I hope this helps.

    WTF?

First, Josh Rocks I'll spend money with him any day. There's his budget submariner watch taking gen parts all day long, LIKE A CHAMP!

Second, Take your [censored] wine about "parcels in china" & "your friends" some where else to some other forum.

    douche.

  5. Be careful with this one, you might want to read Puretimes (Angus') reviews on service. Also the watch accepts no gen parts, arrives with a terrible crystal, missing gaskets, Inserts have to be epoxied in, non gen construction on the bezel, etc etc.

The only bonus is the ETA movement.

  6. Lumeing is tough, hands are just slightly easier. Here's a 1680 I just lumed, you can see its a little uneven but pulls it off. Next to it is a NDT dial. The NDT was way to nice to lume and it does glow just a little With perfectly round dots :) so it just got the hand treatment. And yes with the NDT dial the feet come off, then secure with a couple stacks of dial dots, window centers perfectly
