  1. has any one seen this in the flesh ? http://www.enjoy-watches.com/html/115/119/2608.html BR 01-92 HERITAGE
  2. which case was the start of your project ? i have had issues with a certain case and its lack of good case back threads...
  3. i am putting a sherry sandwich dial together. have soldered on dial feet for the cortebert movement(a jig is way to do this, much agravation until that sorted). my question is what is the best way to attach the base dial to the top dial ? dial stickies ? how were the originals done ? but i think the originals were much thicker. should i lume the base dial first or assemble the dials and then lume ? what should i use for the aged resin look ? thanks
  4. easy to do with a reamer to grip the inside of the tube. there are special tools for this of course.
  5. anyone have a copy of the tech sheets for a cortebert 620 ? tia
  6. the insert is not aged but made to look old. it is not genuine. the dots are a dead give away. http://www.yukiwatch.com/catalog/item/6784664/6696723.htm some one is deliberating scamming. here is a real one http://www.sheartime.com/images/fullsize/st009/st009_1.jpg

  8. can someone explain the resin dial history ? i am guessing that the radium sandwich dial had resin flowed into it to seal the lume to prevent the lume falling into the works ? any details on this ?
  9. anything worth visiting in Singapore for reps ?
  10. you can try sanding the bottom of the insert (figure 8 on sandpaper on glass) and you may want to replace the wire and bend another one. the stainless spring wire is easy to get in correct diameter to fit the recess. sometimes the wire that comes with watch is not spring steel...
  11. i had some emails with the other one doing this thing and in the end did not commit. i guess from your post earlier in the month that was lucky for me. count me in. i wonder if it is too long before a chinese source floods the market with this quality case... i wonder if it would be possible to get a data package of the watch. one must exist but would some one be willing to sell it and presumably many copies of it vice a lot fewer of the cases. ps hands ? type ? is there not something about to come to the forum in the new year on good hands... nice nice work
  12. but the brass needs to show through on the raised serations not in the depths to mimic the real deal.
  13. more later on that. but here are a couple of gens. the tudor is legit issued to fdu(p) clearance diver
  14. the key to the puzzle is part 4. in reps this wire is often not right diameter or metal or shape. it is i think a holdover way of doing things from say a 6542 or 5510 or 5508 era bezel construction. if you can find of pic of those bezels...where are you in the world ? you can perhaps find a local modder to put it on the watch but it can be a fustrating job to get the right tension on the ring and correct slip fit so the thing is secure
  15. close. RCN issue. thanks for the other pics
  16. thanks. found some interesting stuff. but the flat gaskets are too small.
  17. nope. did you note the soldered in bars ? ok what is the sin with a brass plated bezel ? i just liked it and that was enough....for now
  18. but the wife makes me wash the dishes and i always wear a watch...
  19. so i had a NDT 8mm crown and tube for a project. it comes with no gasket btw. so i first made do with two O-rings (one small and one larger) while i beat the bushes for the gen gasket. no luck. does any one even know the part number ? anyways so i got around to making the flat rubber gasket for it. and then i got a gen crown. and it of course had a perished gasket. so made another gasket. is there a need for these flat gaskets or has some one got a better idea ....
  20. i had found a source of the gen tropic 16s. fairly priced. but the gen is just too small to go on without turning it down a few thou...
  21. 5508. looking for just a plain tropic
  22. I am looking to replace a NDT case's crystal. the lip diameter( the steel rim which the inside of the crystal fits over) is 29.12mm. with some tension then the crystal interior diameter would be around 28.86mm. no luck in figuring out which crystal to use...thanks
  23. Cannon pinion. I have the correct cannon pinion and would trade it to for a short one 2.23mm. and may be a lot of the other parts nos as i went the other way...
  24. the dial and the gilt hands. where did they come from ? lovely job in total
