i never bought from them but i think they are ok. for $100 it looks pretty good.
good luck, welcome
-
i agree- for $100 you can't beat it.
-
this is already the 2nd price increase this year! they raised 10% a few months ago.
did they raise the DJ's too?
they are out of control. i bought a TT GMT last summer for $7500
now its 10k. that's a 33% increase in 1 year!!
-
i've definitely become a collector, now with almost 50 watches!
the truth is i can't wear them all that much, yet i don't seem to want to part with them
either.
-
i live in nyc and the store on madison & 57 street is tremendous.
a great place to check out almost any gen in the world. the prices are high,
but they do offer good trade ins. i just traded a watch for my girlfriend- they gave her $2300
for an old midsized rolex that was beat up and cost $2300 like 7 years ago. we got a TT air king for 5k.
-
why not consider the midsized YM?
-
i would assume his was a rep. nobody just takes off a gen watch and swaps it to a stranger.
but you never know...
-
looks good to me- practically brand new looking.
the new ones list for 9K now! i'd say you did very well.
-
i just got the white version recently from eurotimez.
chris suggested to get a gen dial to deal with the noob flaws.
i doubt too many 'civilians' will spot the gray markers.
-
you might have seen the pix i posted of the grand carrera!
it is a monster but i've gotten used to it. i even bought a hublot which is very big but again
doesn't wear quite as large. i have the same problem with the omega po- i wanted the 42mm not the 45mm.
i ended up ordering a gen because the rep of the smaller one is not as good as the large size.
-
the pam reps look very much like the gen. i have a 40mm gen
pam and a rep 40mm pam chrono. the layout is the same.
believe me- the 40mm is big enough, i have about a 71/2 inch wrist,
but i'm only about 5'7''. i usually won't go bigger than 42mm.
the actual size isn't everything- some watches wear bigger than others.
for example- i got the new Tag Grand Carrera and its 43mm but seems like 50!
on the other hand- i have an explorer2 thats 40mm but seems like 37.
-
there are 40mm Pams, not all are 44mm.
try the 40mm luminor marina.
the rollies are a good choice because they are mostly 40mm or under.
omega double eagle constellation @ 38mm is nice too.
-
those $100 watches are surprisingly good. i got the noob
YM with free shipping and its very nice. the mov't is crappy- but it works fine.
-
personally, i find it tacky. he could of given you a rep at least.
-
it looks nice, but compared to the monsters nowadays the DJ is small.
also- we've mentioned here that the gens seem to wear bigger even if they are similiar in size.
i have the same problem because i'm a rolex fan. even the new 40mm explorer2 i got seems
kinda small.
-
i think some people may have had problems with that
dealer, better check it out.
-
i've been looking at that one too. in fact maybe even the gen.
i did ask josh about it this week- he said the 45mm version is better-'super rep'.
i would prefer the 42mm myself- which he said was good but not made 1:1 like the
bigger one. and who really knows about the 'swiss' mov'ts???

For my first, and so far the only rep, I bought a Chopard GTXL (the 7750 version) from a trusted dealer. It came with a bunch of problems. The dealer asked me to mail it back with regular airmail. Due to the "customs problems" he can't receive fedex and such. I sent it and that was that. It has been over four weeks and the dealer said he never received the watch. I assume it's been stolen or lost or whatever
I cannot see how I can order from him again, and yet he is one of the "best" dealers here.
who is it?
