  1. Its not from Angus, I'm still a little wary of him after some of the feedback I've read
  2. Hi all, ok so it looks like the Pam bug has got me (or at least untill IWC calls me back). I've been speaking to P/T & he has some 111G's & H's left with full swiss (hmm) movements left. I'm stuck away for next week or so with a heavily firewalled connection(no imageshack etc) so I cant really get a look at anything so thought I would ask if anyone has any info on these. As far as I have read the G series is the one with the Paneria stamped all over the works & the H is slightly more plain. Both the reps are supposed to be with dagger swan necks, sappire glass with AR so seem ok spec wise. There not cheap though but seem to work out around Davidsen's prices with all his bells & whistles but as I'm new to this whole scene I thought I would ask some opinions. Also whats the better rep G or H series? I know that the faces are different with the lumes etc but I'm wondering if the G has a better rep history as the seems to be a lot of cheap H's nowadays or is that just popular reps progress? many thanks, Mike
  3. I'm not sure if this is relevant to this thread but I've been looking for a 111 or a 127 to start my Pam collection. I received a reply from my collector today saying that theres poss a new 127 on its way but also that he had a few swiss 6497 handwinds in G & H series 111 in stock. Totally new to Panerais & there movments but could this be the next generation of rep movements starting to appear, might wait & see what the new 127 will look like. Mike edited due to being sober
  4. No problem with the bezel alignment at 12 although the swiss made is slightly off by about 1-2mm (center is at say 30.5) although its not as bad as some pics I have seen, I was a little annoyed about it but after speaking to the collector that supplied it he was pretty honest in saying that the "swiss made" is the slevins achiles heel. I hope in the future to have a AR job & some The Zigmeister magic done on it so it may be fixable when its in bits, this is my 1st rep so I probably should have asked for a pic or something but we live & learn Other than that no issues with it so far, I'm looking to get a Panerai next then a 3717 & to be honest they seem more of a minefield to a noob like me. Mike
  5. Metal strap arrived today(thanks PT) so I thought I would try my hand at some pics. Nowhere near Pugwash's etc quality but as the collection gets bigger I'll hope to get better Mike
  6. Many thanks The Zigmeister. so much to learn
  7. I've had a look through the board but can't seem to find anything so excuse the noob question. I've had my Slevin for a few days now & It seems to be changing how much time its loosing per day, 1st day it was 45 secs/day slow, 2nd 35secs/day and so far today 10secs over 12hrs. I'm hoping to get it serviced by The Zigmeister in the future(although I'd imagine I'll be very lucky to get a slot once his PM's open) but I was wondering if the movement "beds-in" over the 1st week of so of use or am I just wishful thinking. many thanks,Mike
  8. No problems with my bezel alignment (rubber strapped model) although the swiss made is about 2mm out, I'm not sure if I will send it back yet but I'll see how well it keeps time over the next few days. Only other issue I have is the bezel rotation pusher feels "crunchy" (can't think of a better way to describe it) although the rotation of the bezel is fine. Ryaku: yes domed glass on mine's also
  9. I was on the phone to her when she did it, watch was running as far as I'm aware as she told me the 9'oclock hand was running.
  10. Hopefully this will be the missus doing something wrong but does the crono actually work on this rep?. I'm stuck away for the next week so when my slevin arrived yesterday from PT I got the missus to give it a quick look over, everything seems to be ok including the bezel rotating using the bottom button but she says nothing happens when you press the top (crono) button, I hope its not faulty but I would say I'll be as dissapointed if this one has no crono. I havnt contacted PT yet because i want to check it over myself 1st but if I may drop him a line if its supposed to be a functioning item. Cheers
  11. Just a Quick hello & introduction from me. I've been a great fan of watches all my life (broke a heap too figuring out how they work ) I've allways shyed away from replicas as the few that I have had have been the usual work for a week Rolex's. I found the forum by accident while looking up IWC's & have been lurking a bit since I joined last week picking up some tips etc, so much so my Slevin from PT should be delivered today while I'm bobbing around on a oil rig west of Norway . Watch wise nothing fancy in my collection so far Breitling Aerospace (blue face & gold markers) Raymond Weil W1 (lime with metal strap) usual Seikos & G-shocks I'll probably be looking at a B&R next or a Panerai but I'll wait till I see what I think of the Slevin. Many thanks to all on here as its a goldmine for info, I have a feeling this may be a expensive hobby.
