  1. [censored] man - That is sad news. I didn't really like his music much, but he reminds me of my youth in the 70's & 80's when he seemed to be constantly being played over the airwaves.
  2. I reckon that these would fly out the door if the made the "sons" watch to match. I prefer the Black BP, but this ain't that bad imo, and would make a nice prezzy for the kid or kids.
  3. Love the look of these watches especially the Aviator and Officers watches which are about 46mm. I had difficulty finding prices, but found this site that may be be of assistance to anyone wondering about cost. http://www.abouttime.com/abouttime/ball-watches.invtc.html
  4. My watchmaker, when trying to remove a caseback on a Panerai to release a hairspring, didn't have a caseback opener to fit. He was an authorised Rolex horologist, but says that he had to relinquish because he wasn't prepared to buy new tools for the new movements that are of late. Anyway, he says that he applied superglue to the back and a piece of wood as a turnkey and simply allowed it to dry and turned it off. I didn't get as far as asking him how he removed the hard residue, because I was too busy inspecting the sapphire for damage lol, but it was completely unmarked and he says that he tightened in the same way before cleaning up. There is absolutely no marks on the watch to indicate that he used this method, but he is in his late 50's early 60's very staid and without a discernable sense of humour, so I doubt he was winding (no pun intended) me up. Incidentally, what can be used to break down superglue residue?
  5. Lovely watches, Big Pilot is my fav' but every time I see those chronofighters, I want to pull the pin and throw it -
  6. I am no pro - but the lume on the 5 & 7 markers does not appear to be centered on their background dot. I can't think for one minute that Omega would let that through the door.
  7. Holy Fook - The woman of my dreams - That is a wind up - Right??
  8. Patience is a virtue - Chris managed to source me four of the best reps I have received even during the turmoil that he is going through. There is sufficient testimony on this forum that will attest to Chris's customer service and ability to source great reps, but if money is burning a hole in your pocket - then off you go. In England we have a saying that may well translate to other countries'. ' A fool and his money are easily parted'. Take your time and when you are in possession of all the information you need, you can then make an informed choice. Otherwise do what I and I am sure what many others done before they found RWG - Go out and spend an enormous amount of money after listening to all the AAAA+++ grade [censored], when if you bought from one of the dealers here, you would have the same, if not better for half the price that you will inevitably end up paying. My opinion of course, but I learnt the hard way and I only want to save you from that painful experience. StevieJay is also correct that PT is another good dealer.
  9. I'd be interested in the outcome of those enquiries too Robsa - Thanks for making the effort.
  10. TBH - I am no expert in that area, but I have never seen one on here. My best advice would be to contact one of the trusted dealers on this site and ask them if they can source such a model. That way at least you know you are not going to get stung or pay way over the odds, but ask a couple at least so that you get a closer idea of spec and prices etc. It may be a good idea to have in your own mind a clear idea of what type of movement you want so that you can furnish the same query to the dealers and I am sure that they will help. I've never heard of the second site, and don't know enough about the first to be able to give you my experience.
  11. Welcome to RWG beetle and You could always try using the search facility located to the top right - You never know you know.
  12. Leyton Orient - http://www.football.co.uk/leyton_orient/index.shtml :1: Supported Chelsea since the 60's - Good - Bad - Bad - Very Bad - Very very Bad - Crap - worse - Better - Good - Great - Fantastic - World beaters (Except on Wednesday nights showing - ) You'll be back Tom - You know it makes sense - I am not into the politics of the game, but I do know that Abramovich is our benefactor and given the money he has spent, not just on players' but infrastructure he is in for the long haul and I am grateful for that.
  13. Welcome Michael it's always great to see new UK members but especially those that have the skills and can offer their services to us here as well.

  16. It was the academic bit that threw me
  17. Hi Plant As much as it galls me to assist a Scouser (unless you're a toffee) I can put the football differences aside to help a forum member. I recently got mine from Chris at Eurotimez and it is truly spot on. He can be found on the front page under "Watch Collectors" - http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showforum=187 He won't be around until about the 5th December because he is setting up his new website, but he is the best I have dealt with to date and will answer any questions that you may have both promptly and politely. He will also ship from the UK, thus avoiding those dreaded customs - just got stung on a deal and had to cough up
  18. :D I drink to live - We've got to have it now then Pugwash. I won't be going until after Christmas now though, but we can have a meet if you like. I might even be able to arrange a ticket for you as well.

  20. :D :D Pugwash me and you have got to get together for a Bud or two or................................. I make the trip to sweaty land at least once a year to watch Rangers give it to whoever wants it. If you are still standing with me at the end of the day and gone drink for drink - I will pay for all the Bud you have drunk. Many have tried, but I still haven't had to pay for anyone's day out - yet!! There's always the first time though if you are up for it
