  1. Why did he live? - The scum bag!
  2. Wow - These Steinharts's really do look good and from the photo's and reviews that member's have kindly added I think that I will go for one of their limited editions like in the link in my initial post. Thanks for all your help guys.
  3. Thanks for the great advice and your personal views and recommendations. I do like the Steinhart but will look at the Defaubre as well. Will update the board with the decision that I make. I e-mailed Gunther at Steinhart today and they are at batch 201 - 253 so I will certainly have to get my mind made up quick.
  4. I covet the Big Pilot and recently had one attached to my wrist in Grand Cayman. I slobbered over it stroked it and fell in love and then asked the salesman how much it was. I thought he was taking the [censored] - $11,000. "[censored] me" I said under my breath and thought about making a dash for the door. But with 18 stone to haul and my ship about half a mile offshore, I didnt want to risk the Japanese Whaling Fleet being in and getting a harpoon up me [censored]. So I took it off and reluctantly handed it back. I have been looking and looking and looking but haven't yet been able to see a BP rep that I could actually live with. I have resigned myself to never having one at the new price. I was checking out some watch straps yesterday on a random google search, as you do and came across the name Steinhart. I checked a few more pages and then came across the site itself. I then saw this:- http://www.steinhartwatches.de/index.php?i...p;Sel_ID=12#101 Yes, I know that it is not a BP but what do you think of it as an homage or should it be considered a pilot's watch in its own right. Has anyone had any experience or knowledge of the product? I am sorely tempted but would be grateful for opinions. Thanks in advance - Chief.
  5. LMFAO - I am sure that I saw the sniper on a grassy knoll
  6. Everything has a price - Please please please let me know if you want to let this go (SERIOUSLY). Fantastic result, beautiful piece.
  7. Bear with me - I might have what you are looking for. I am work at the mo' so will check when I get home.
  8. Is it the angle/ shadow of the photo or is the crown guard not flush?
  9. Gotta say that xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx are without exception the worst company out there. I bought a Wii from them and when I got it home and opened the box all that I had was a marmalade jar with some yellow fluid in it - wtf?? Steer clear they are pony and their sales associates are pimps for the company that really trade in a backstreet using Amsterdam red light women who have passed their sell by dates. Scott has all the charm and personality of Osama and with his Scottish sales associates Ben Doon and Phil Mc Cavity wanted me to participate in a game of twister before they would even entertain the notion of selling me anything - my Gary (Glitter) (Cockney Rhyming Slang for poop shoot) is still hurting. Stay clear !!
  10. Or put a nice thick leather strap on it and wear with pride.
  11. Benvenuto me old china - You will enjoy it here, and yes, there are other Italian members here too.
  12. LMFAO - Patience is a virtue mate. I am sure that the remainder of the membership will apologise individually for not providing you with an instant answer to your most pressing of questions when they next log on. Alternatively, do what most members do and at the very least try the search facility before spitting the dummy out.
  13. Spot on Andy - Perhaps the latter would be an easier and less painful option. Or there is always the old Army trick of tattooing your mark on a part of your body, doesn't have to be particularly conspicuous, but may give a greater sense of comfort knowing that unless you are entirely toasted, your mark will be permanent and therefore seen when you have left your mortal coil.
  14. Hehehehehe - Note to myself. Do not try to debate with mastergod. Isn't fashion what it is all about though? If timepieces hadn't evolved, wouldn't we all still own a sun dial? Everyone has their own personal taste and what is beautiful to one is [censored]ing hideous to another. I was hung up on Rolex for a while and loved them above all else, but now having been able to access many different reps that have caught my eye, I can enjoy them all, but some from a distance including U-Boat and the Chronofighter. In my opinion, both are like Shrek, you either love them or hate them. I just bought a gen Cartier Roadster XL GMT - Isn't Cartier a fashion brand? The watch though, is absolutely beautiful and I see it as both functional with a very good movement that looks sensational but that is my own taste and I am sure that not everyone will agree, but each to their own.
  15. I can see how you might think there may be a demand for that subtle piece of jewellery Has Chav arrived in the US vocabulary yet?
  16. As far as I am aware there are no customs implications within the EU community - Therefore you can insure to the full value, but generally this type of service is quite expensive, but I suppose better than losing your watch to a thieving postal worker.
  17. I ain't [censored]ing happy about this - You made me give up my age -
  18. LOL - I had the real deal on my wrist two weeks ago in Grand Cayman - I don't think it's too bad, and don't think that you can compare the rep to gen because of the price differential. You get what you pay for.
