  1. Identity was such a breath of fresh air, but they killed Runlolarun in Supremacy. Darn you all to heck! ps. Not yet seen Ultimatium.
  2. Because assumption makes an ass out of me and some guy named umption?
  3. Here's a crazy thought ... you're not my boss. Don't tell me how to do my job, not that I have one right now as I was sacked for trawling rep forums with [censored] on them all day. Seriously, if avatars make this place less visited, for whatever reason, isn't it common courtesy to follow the rules? It's not as if people are suggesting it may be nice to tone down the avatars, it's actually a forum rule. We can argue about the rules all day (no porn, yes guns, no real names, etc.) but they're set and de facto accepted when you post. Your freedom of speech and freedom of expression extends right up to your keyboard, but not beyond.
  4. ... and most of the Chinese restaurants in Paris are owned by Vietnamese families, just like the Greek restaurants are owned by Turkish families. You go with what sells. A friend of mine took me to a Japanese restaurant in Paris while he was visiting and ordered in Japanese (he'd just spent 2 years there) and the staff didn't understand him. They were Vietnamese as well. It's all about what your colonies were, apparently. The British Empire had China and India whereas France had chunks of Africa and Vietnam.
  5. Finally, someone got the joke. It wasn't because, as was suggested by someone, that he's performing fellatio (it's a fish, people. Get your minds out of the gutter). The reason I chose Gollum was because that's how I read Klink's posts, in that Gollum voice. Why that pic? It's the only one I could find with his head at the right angle to fit in that helmet. Oh, and it's funny. Anyway, it was supposed to be a little light-hearted joke and blew out of all proportion because ... well, we're on the internet. It's what happens. ps. Read Klink's gibberish posts in a Gollum voice and you'll see why it's funny. Life, my precious. Good, yes, yes?
  6. Jiro, Thanks for posting this here. It's a great article.
  7. Vintages do indeed rotate both ways without clicks.
  8. Great start.
  9. Ooh, how manly. I only act derisive about speed drinking because a friend of mine could do a pint in just over a second. It stopped being fun competing with that. The world record for a pint (well, a half-litre) is 0.4 seconds.
  10. I've said it before and I'll say it again. Best ever rep.
  11. lol dun be a pug rofl kplzthx.
  12. I just assume every poster with a female avatar is a chick, or at least dresses like one.
  13. When you're down to picking differences in the leather strap, you know you've got a good rep. I don't care about the strap's accuracy as it's one of those things that even if you had a gen you'd not be sure it's a tell as people change straps (BOB for Breitling, for instance) all the time.
  14. I don't know where this TTK shill assessment came from as anyone that knows either me or TTK to any degree would find this funny. Still, I do admit to being argumentative and contrary, but I didn't call you a paedo or anything so we're still safe. What's your take on Andrew's reversal then? Did he play you and hang you out to dry or do you think he meant it when he mailed you and just got clobbered by Josh into doing it?
  15. Transactions like this require a certain amount of trust. If Andrew did indeed say he wasn't going to stock this, because he respects his customers, and then decides to stock them, where is that respect and trust? However, let's not forget, we just have Hamfist's word on this and he's not the most reliable of witnesses by all accounts.
  16. Pop quiz ... without looking it up, when was Hiroshima demolished by nuke? Some dates fade into history, some dates are remembered. Only time will tell which 9/11 will be.
  17. That's what I said, Doc! I can't help it if you ... oh, wait. Damn ...oops. Yeah, both Rocky I and II hold up very well, especially I. Yes, it won an Oscar, even more surprising considering it was written by Sylvester Stallone.
  18. I am a fan of spicy food. It's a shame the British Empire didn't invade Mexico and Thailand as our cuisine would be even better if it did. I'm not saying that British Cuisine is the best in the world, but it's not as bad as it's made out to be. Yes, I miss the food in Paris.
  19. Actually, the thread wasn't about 9/11, it's about the French media, but I get your point. My posts were to end the Iraq side-track as it's not even a debate.
  20. Here's the speech that explained the rationales for going to war: http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/20...20030205-1.html Will that do?
  21. Blair's retirement was more to do with the cash for titles debacle. And Bush used 9/11 to get people to join up, but the decision to enter Iraq was not 9/11, even though he played all the heartstings possible with 9/11 to get popular support. However, the government decisions were not based on 9/11. Apparently the politicians were too smart to buy that lie.
  22. I'm not going to try to turn this into a Does the US belong in Iraq post, because it's completely unrelated. Going by your definition, then my dinner is based on decisions made after 9/11. The US is in Iraq was because of WMDs (and don't get into whether or not they were there, that's not for today). The Global War On Terror is why you're in Afganistan, not Iraq. There is a new PM in the UK because the old one 'took up Stewardship of the Chiltern Hundreds' or retired.
