  1. Is anyone piloting this ship?
  2. When Ruby first asked me to send back my Navitimer, she gave me an address to send it to. After four weeks, we decided it was lost, so just to make sure, I asked her to verify the address I sent it to. Lo and behold, it was the wrong address. She sent me an address that was half one of her drop-points and half another. She asked me to send it on when it got back to me. Now, how can I put this politely? There is no way on this planet I'm putting a return address on a replica watch sent from France to China. So, she sent me a replacement eventually, but I had to wait for a restock. She did offer me a more expensive (two-tone) replacement, but there was no way I was going to be two months out of pocket and get the wrong watch. Needless to say, the replacement eventually arrived and the watch was as good as I'd hoped. I look back on it with merriment, but at the time, it was exceedingly frustrating.
  3. This is entertaining. My brother's Co-Axial Planet Ocean was a little fast or slow when he got it (i forget which) but after a few weeks he set it to 2 seconds fast. After a few months, it was still 2 seconds fast. He's since set it to time.gov and it's more accurate than or as accurate as his girl's gen Omega quartz. Admittedly, he wears it all the time (apart from in the shower) and acts like a human tourbillon cage, which I expect helps.
  4. You've not watched many movies then. ps. Did you see that youtube clip about American's and geography?
  5. Don't forget the Aussies too. We Brits were smart enough not to get involved with that as we'd seen how bad the far east could be.
  6. True. It's definitely a logic solution.
  7. Is a stock 2892A2 as good as an IWC-fettled 2892A2? Or is that where your dollar for dollar caveat comes in? What about Co-Axials?
  8. Guys .. dun be a Pug!
  9. Silix stocks cheap Omega boxes. http://www.silix-prime.com/cat.asp?catid=123 There's a guy on eBay that sells the cloths.
  10. Ruby or King?
  11. It sounds very suspicious as sending watches by courier is suicidal.
  12. DHL???!!!??? You used a courier instead of the post? Sorry to hear about the seizure but if you use a courier, it's inevitable. They are empowered to open them up and tax them accordingly.
  13. The encryption is between your computer and their computer, or the fulfilment house's computer. I'm not at all worried about that part. I just worry about my credit card details and delivery (home) address sitting on some counterfeiter's computer. I trust Josh and Trusty not to steal my credit card details, but you have to remember several dealers have disappeared (and returned) after having had severe financial difficulties. Let's say a leg-breaker turned up at their doorstep and they knew they had 50-100 known-good credit card numbers with all the detains needed to make them work on their computer. Would you blame them for ripping us off?
  14. You should take it as an opportunity to get the more accurate white dial.
  15. Oh? So this story doesn't really have an ending? ps. It's gen, but it might not have been the watch you received.
  16. Same as the Vietnam War, the US lost but they let people believe they won.
  17. It's a gen. TT will confirm that shortly.
  18. You should count yourself lucky that someone may have an original MBW dial that they've replaced with a gen or redial.
  19. Yeah, but I don't know Ignatz.
  20. Rather than post lots and lots of pictures, check this page out: http://www.doubleredseadweller.com/dr_dials.htm Check out the sheer variation in colour:
  21. Like I said, four sides.
  22. Just to reiterate, it's not a question of trusting the dealers. It's a question of trusting everyone with whom they do business, from the packing monkey at the factory on a menial salary, even for China, to the processing company that doesn't have to comply with European or US data-protection laws. Remember the scandal in India where the companies hired by the UK banks had some employees that were caught selling credit card lists wholesale for several times their paltry annual salaries to the Russian Mafia?
  23. Um, sure, it is where I live. Also, the fact you're buying them means you're smuggling them. In the US, once they're in your possession, you're fine, but if they get stopped in customs, you're [censored]ed. In certain countries in Europe, even possessing them can get you a heavy fine.
  24. No. Or rather not unless you're worried about resale value. I was going to write loads of stuff about mods, but then I realised that's not at all your question so I deleted it. If you're honestly never going to consider mods, don't bother with an MBW unless it's something you plan on selling later.
  25. ... in the US. There are several systems that offer a certain degree of anonymity, but the US blocks them saying they're used for gambling.
