Why RWI has removed Josh and Andrew as dealers
Pugwash replied to seanf's topic in General Discussion
No, don't think of them like that. If the Factories did indeed set the prices, this would be the case. However, it's our dealers (our trusted dealers, our friends) who are setting the prices and trying to bully the factories into not selling to their competitors unless they are forced to match their retail prices. Having said that, how many people get discount from J&A? More than you'd suspect. They're forcing other dealers to match their prices so they can undercut themselves through the back channels. It's all very weaselesque. If only they could be more honest; they'd be better off and we'd be better off. One observation about us westerners not understanding the Asian way of business. Yes, this is true, however it points to an even greater truth: The Asian dealers simply do not have any comprehension of how to do business in the west. Two alien cultures trying to impose their own systems on each other without the slightest willingness to learn how the other works or consider compromise. It's a head-butting competition where even if you win, your head still hurts. -
Why RWI has removed Josh and Andrew as dealers

I suspect their response will be to insult a few members (retracted shortly after because they 'were joking') then claim stupidity and then say how they're the victims of their own success and how they don't lie or dropship. No change there. Dun be pugs. ... The problem is that as dealers, Josh and Andrew are the ideal recommendation for a first time buyer. Price-fixing and white-lying aside, they have decent service and a good selection of watches. It would be so easy to just point everyone to their sites if we didn't feel dirty and used every time we did. -

No, just organised crime. -
Evidence shows that we will. Every time this happens, we're outraged for a week or two and then we get right on back to suckling on the teets of whoever sells us our precious watches. We are that stupid. Nothing ever changes. Show me why this time is any different.

... only this time you're paying a little more for it than you should. -
In a few weeks, all this will have blown over and we'll get right back to the cartel circle-jerk, praising the dealers for being gods, again.

This mostly stems from one over-zealous member, not any of the admins. -

Has anyone asked anyone at RepGeek if this is true? I mean it's one thing to have a strong feeling and it's another to outright accuse. -

Yup, when Trusty was pulled up on that on RG, he basically said it was the guy he was paying to do the job that was ripping him off. "I HATE PUGWASH [...]" - Trustytime Another for my sig? I was right, though. He may know much more than I'll ever know about the industry, unsurprisingly, but that doesn't change the fact he lied to us repeatedly. "They have no idea how the makers in China respect the both of us.." - Trusty This gels perfectly with their "But I'm just one dealer. What power do I have?" stance. -

It's a forum, not a court of law. The onus was put on Andrew to refute the evidence. He didn't. He was told privileges given to him by the administrators would be lifted if he didn't refute the evidence. He could quite easily have proved the evidence was a forgery, but instead he decided to just plead that he was the victim. Much to hide? I don't know, but RWI made a judgement call and did what was perfectly within their rights. I don't know if it is a fit-up job like Andrew claims, as it's perfectly possible he truly is the victim, but let's be honest, does anyone really believe that? -
Amazing! Great community spirit, guys!

You need to learn what evidence/hearsay is and then look up the difference between slander and libel. 1: If the dealer is presenting screen grabs these are evidence. It may be falsified, but it's still evidence. 2: If defamation is printed on a webpage, it's libel, unless it's true. 3: Dealers are on the forums at the pleasure of the admin. No contract is present. -

Wait, I cheated on my tax returns, so I don't have a right to complain about being burgled? There are plenty of ethical businesses in this world. The trick isn't having an ethical business, it's keeping a business ethical that's hard. "This is what happens when you find a stranger in the alps." -

Thoughts about changing the look of the forum

oh. Yeah.. Thats actually not a bad idea. I think the PDA skin needs one line of HTML adding to the headers. <meta name="viewport" content="width=480, user-scalable=yes"> ... or similar. -
DAMN YOU ALL TO HELL!!! Who wants to buy all my reps?

As with all court decisions, if you're not actually in the jury, hearing every bit of evidence, it's very easy to just decide anything you like[1]. It's easy to say she's a heartless gold digger, but we only get the story the media wants to tell us. In other words, who knows? [1] For instance, the linux geeks screaming that the famous programmer Hans Reiser's trial (for murdering his wife) was a miscarriage of justice and that he was being persecuted for suffering from aspergers. They all went apeshit when he was found guilty, but then went very silent when, just prior to sentencing, he told the police where to find the body in return for a shorter sentence.

You missed the point Stoner was complaining about. When Rossi went into the dirt at the Corkscrew, he had to go where the bike took him. Stoner thought Rossi was being an aggressive rider there because he didn't know Rossi went off the track. So, Stoner thought Rossi deliberately tried to knock him off. That's what he was bitching about. As for Stoner's crash, Rossi caused it. How? By racing the way he does. When Rossi is leading and being followed, he breaks up the rhythm of the guy behind him by taking unpredictable lines and braking points. Stoner got caught out by one of these and had to take to the dirt. I'm a Rossi fan, but I can see where Stoner was coming from in his complaint. He was wrong, but it's understandable. ps. Best race of the year so far.

I was able to do it quickly because I had the DOA trailer in Quicktime format when you asked.
