  1. I removed the peeling bezel (with the help of the post detaileding the AP ROO bezel removal proceedure) and used laquer thinner to remove the rest of the thin rubber coating. It came off very easily. The bezel is PVD coated underneath the cheap rubber coating, and actually looks pretty damn good. Put it back together and am very happy with the result. The cartel should just offer them this way to begin with and save everyone the hastle.
  2. After wearing my ROO Ruberclad 5 times....and being VERY careful not to hit, nick, rub on, or even wear a jacket with it, and after hearing some of the other member's stories.......the rubber coating on the bezel is starting to wear off in a rather obvious and ugly way. I mean I BABIED this thing and it still wore off. Word to the wise....my advise is to steer clear of the AP ROOs with this bezel until it get "updated" with a thicker or more durable coating. I am extremely disappointed, as the rest of the watch is top shelf.
  3. Agreed....I have one of each, an MBK EOD and a sec @12 Rubberclad.....the sec@12 is just as good if not better than the MBK with regard to the case, dial, & band fit and finish.
  4. Yep....that looks like exactly what happened. You can hardly tell there is a screw there it is sanded so smooth.
  5. It's as if the tiny screw head that holds the rod in place has been over polished and become part of the clasp....so the screw has no slot area for a screwdriver....even the area between the screw and the screw "hole" have become melded together.
  6. Just purchased a ROO Rubberclad from Pure Time....beautiful piece. I replaced the rubber strap with an AP Bands grey alligator strap, but cannot use the deployment clasp on it. Seems the male side of the clasp does not unscrew. It's easy to pry it loose from the rubber strap, but cannot fit it into the alligator strap. Anyone else experience this issue? Thoughts/Suggestions?
  7. I believe only the date mag has AR on the AP ROO.
  8. IWC '06 Cousteau Diver HBB rose gold tuiga edition AP ROO Rubberclad PP Nautilus PAM 111h or 177h MBW 1680
  9. I really don't understand the mentality of movement factories who are modding the 7750 for various reps...ie seconds at six (Daytona), seconds at three (Graham), and seconds at twelve (AP ROO). They go to the (mostly) proper lengths on the seconds at three version to jewel the extra gears and make a fairly reliable modded 7750 movement. But they do so for a rep model that is relatively inexpensive and an acquired taste...the Graham Diver and Chronofighter series. Meanwhile, the AP ROO (pricey) and Daytona (somewhat less pricey), reps we have been salivating for and have higher sales potential get stuck with inferior modded movements containing fewer (or NO) jewels on the extra gear sets. These things make real nice paperweights in no time flat. Just venting, but DAMN I wish they would just do it right the first time......heck even the second time!
  10. In addition to the lack of A/R and bezel material.....the lite version also has a screw down crown, which is not the same as the gen (or the regular rep version). The pushers on the lite are also substandard by comparison.
  11. Use a dremel and smooth the sharp edge on the clasp. Works perfectly and doesn't "show".
  12. Gen HBBs can/could be ordered with either black OR white date wheels. I have seen genuine Tuiga limited edition rose gold HBBs with both colors.

  14. For any owners of MBK PP......Does the MBK version of the PP Nautilus Jumbo have a screw down crown?
  15. Damn! I was hoping to see a few PP Nautilus in that group shot......any word on THAT shipment?
  16. Anyone have the HBB Tuiga Yacht Club of Monaco Ltd edition in rose gold? Comments, reviews, etc?
  17. Please put me down for one. I installed the last one I purchased from you in my IWC Cousteau Diver.
  18. 17.087 on the 3rd try. Damn those blue shapes start to haul ass!
  19. What happens to those of us that have sent you money pre-Skype via Mooneybookers (back in early August) and have yet to receive our watches?
  20. Anybody else having difficulty getting in touch with TTK? Seems his Skype message is always "unavailable" or "I'm away". I've been trying to contact this guy for two months!!! Hey TTK...if you're listening.....what's the best GMT time to "Skype" you? Do I need to make an appointment?!?!
  21. The strap color for the gen 192 is "butterscotch", which is a little lighter and more yellowish than the straps that have been shown. I paid $200 for the Gen.
  22. 2 watches, Sub LV for full mods and white gold DD. Shipped August 05. Received email Sept 29, 2006 from Joe indicating I was "in line" and coming up soon.
  23. Put me down for a 187 with the 7753 as well.
  24. Joe is the man. He is a true watch enthusiast and absolutely LOVES the sport. He spent a great deal of time on the phone with me several weeks ago informing me of his illness, subsequent "slow down" at his work bench, and some great watch chat in general. I have two pieces in his possession now......and they could not be in better hands!
  25. I was also influenced by those pics! I ordered the Swiss 231c from Andrew. I know some folks don't care for gold, but it looks to be an awesome piece. Any, EVERYONE needs at least ONE gold watch.
