  1. Don't think a 2892-2 has a GMT complication which are available and inexpensive ( the 2836 won't fit ) the 2893 as I recall has the GMT complication and they are hard to find and expensive for a Sub a 2892 would be a great alternative but don't know if it suits a GMT
  2. Seems like a very good answer to why you would wear a Fake to an AD how else could you know if your masterpeice was the perfect rep. maybe we should encourage this as it seems a fool proof way of testing the mods out. Alternatively if like most people you use a little common sense you would see that maybe this is not a good idea in 90% of cases the sales clerk will be no more of an expert than your next door neighbor so why not show it to him. The other thing is of course you may get lucky and find the 10% that know a little bit about it and they can highlight the flaws for you one thing is for sure to date there has never been a rep that would fool anyone who knows what they are looking for. But hey just keep on doing mods and returning to the AD I am sure in the end you will get it right Worse that can happen is you will be asked to leave the shop with your Fake and the good part is you will have shown the AD just how good the reps are now and that Rolex need to do something about all these super reps from Asia

    Oh no

Only because they never checked it! Had they scanned it they would have seized it

    Oh no

Some have screws on the head! To the poster that said they have no right to open it. You will find they have and you have signed giving them permission under their terms and conditions of transit. Putting it inside something else is stupidity if they pull it they will scan it and find whatever is inside 100% guaranteed to be seized and no defense as they will say why was it concealed if you or the sender thought it was ok that can lead it to another level if the customs get shirty about it. Best way is post office couriers do their own customs checks and clearing in most cases and are far more keen than the customs themselves. They have to be they are terrified they will lose the right to self declare and not be able to meet deadlines because of custom delays. Registered air mail is the safest way of all mostly because the sender doesn't have to make a declaration as to content of package so if it is pulled it is purely on chance and not because it's a gift or a sample on the declaration
  5. Think you have agreed to ioffer giving your details to anyone who is a Member of their C.O.P.S system. If you read the terms and conditions you will find reference to this contingent and also their policy on fake and replica goods. While 99% of things on ioffer are fake you do run the risk of the copy right holders getting hold of you. There was a case in Texas I think where a husband and wife were sentenced to 5 years for persistent use of ioffer to sell copy Rolex. I beleive they had been warned and didn't take any notice just continuing to sell copies in the end the lawyers did prosecute and they got heavy fines confiscation orders and prison. Of course they were not exactly the same as this poster but it has been known for lawyers to go the distance and prosecute persistent offenders. That said I know lots of people who have had the letters after the items are seized by customs this maybe a breach of personal info rules but this is not the case with the original poster to the lawyers he was a seller of counterfeit Rolex small or large successful or not still offering counterfeit Rolex . You will find that most auction sites have this same policy about releasing names and addresses to anyone acting with the authority of the rights owner. In the case of ioffer they have no real choice as if they were obstructive I am sure the rights owners would take them to court and close the site
  6. JohnG "There are two price points apparent from the poll - $2 and 5$. It would seem to me that the $2 point is where most people who are not currently supporters would like the figure to be (and some supporters as well since this was my vote), and the $5 figure likely represents those that are already paying this amount and thus tend to validate their own previous choices." Seems you are wrong with your evaluation of the con censors of opinion at least in this early stage of the poll it would seem that $5 per month is seen by most as a sensible fee and I would have to agree that it seems a sensible level who is going to miss $5 a month
  7. Yes you are right they were 10K and plated in 14k which is fine 40% gold content in the UK 90% of jewelery is 37.5% gold
  8. It would appear the that some of the 14k were solid gold links according to a thread I read on Repgeeks . Apparently one of the dealers sent them to be tested and found mixed results. In summing up he concluded that the 14k was in either wrapped or solid form the more durable of the 2 choices. As to what looks more original I can't comment but would suggest if what is written is to be in part at least believed then for longevity the 14k wrapped is the best choice
  9. Yes there are probably many unsung hero's in the modding world. I have seen some super reps that have been no where near The Zigmeister someone must have done them! If you close your mind to the fact that maybe someone else can offer the same level of quality as The Zigmeister you will never find them. The Zigmeister has said in his post that he is not looking for new customers and will only work on reps from the selected few. So for the vast majority The Zigmeister is not available so the choices seem to be live with the watch out of the box or find an alternative to The Zigmeister to mod it. In a perfect world everyone could just send their stock rep and pay to have it moded by The Zigmeister as they want but unfortunately this is not a perfect world If you don't try new sources you will never know
  10. He is a long time fan of Panerai they have made a model for him the slytech
  11. Glad someone else saw what he was upto the only reason he posted them was to sell them no other reason
  12. have seen these around on ioffer but the 140 is rose gold not yellow as the original
  13. Is there a 24mm buckle I thought they were 22mm and 26mm only but I could be wrong. 1st time for everything!!!!
  14. The part you need is H3 with a height of 3.15 and corresponding hour drive as well. You will have to sand the back of your hands to get a perfect flush fit so don't try forcing the hands down lower when they are not flush
  15. The ETA 2892 will fit in these easily the MBW watches are far to expensive and if they are using hybrid movements really over the top. I don't think apart from a vintage Rolex I have ever seen anything from MBW that could be considered good value for money certainly these PP are too expensive and the AP with the seconds in wrong place is certainly too expensive
  16. The cannon pin is almost flush: Check the gap between the hands if very little then it's possible to get this effect "almost flush" by sanding down the hands and not replacing the pinion with H3 if gap is good then a little sanding down will make it completely flush. I see now from the better picture the bridge is engraved I know this watch they are better quality than the average. The AR is ok on them as well.
  17. Unless it's just the picture looks like you have paid $278 for a $140 watch! The cannon looks standard not flush and the movement with the exception of dagger is low grade Asian stuck on letters. Of course the pictures may be the problem
  18. What seller is going to be bothered with sending a 100 emails and pictures for a $300 watch?
  19. I have a 4 year old president and it has never been better than 5 minutes a month despite having been back to Rolex twice under warranty and once being paid for. In desperation I took it to a guy in Bangkok who sells used Rolex and repairs them etc he serviced my watch cleaned and polished it for $60 instead of Rolex $400 and it has been to within 2 minutes a month for the last 6 months
  20. 47mm and yes I have it here it's a sample from factory. Your right it does look like the watch in the link even the hour hand has a split the back plate is completely plain. The crown has brevet and a cross on it don't know if picture shows this
  21. Can anyone shed any light on this watch. I don't know if it actually exists or not but it's really good quality with delightful black enamel hands even the band is really nice quality, it has a Swiss 6497 movement
  22. I am sure if you were to pay by bank transfer and assumed the full responsibility of any customs issue then most would send to EU. As for UK post office being reliable think you have just been lucky sending from UK is a lottery especially if there is a holiday in the month
  23. There was a system of plating developed 100 years ago called "Pinchbeck" so good was this that many people who owned heirlooms thought to be gold. Only found out they weren't when they tried to sell the cases in the late 70's when gold went up to an all time high. I don't know if this system is still available but it would seem a perfect way to make "Gold" copy watches. Would be ironic really rep watch in rep gold!
  24. The quality of these Chinese clones seems to be fine. There are loads around with the ETA stamp as well so ETA stamp is not the be all and end all
