what do you want to check out?

no one ever said life was fair - in fact, its not fair that the people that put together these ETA reps who have some level of expertise make 3 cents an hour while i bs with elected officials at lunch and make more $$
-
You need to step back and look at the big picture - first of all no one said these movements were made in geneve - ETA sells all kinds of movemetnts to all kinds of people. THey sell movement "kits" for instance there are a few Ulysses Nardin that are made from an ETA movements - they are called in house, but they buy the kits, and make some changes and add on some modules. the term "swiss" in replica speak doesn't mean "swiss made" its like a quality rating - so the "swiss case" that josh sells wasn't made in switzerland. The watch was put together by chinese workers making 3 cents an hour - no matter where they got the movement from there are still going to be issues ect. the ETA movements are your 'higher quality" movements real eta or eta copy,t hey are better than the crap movements in the cheap reps. Now- onto your rolex - what watch do you have with what movement. The ticking is all about beat rate - Rolex beats at 28,800 / hr the 7750 beats at 28,800 - i have held my gt bently next to my fathers gen breit and they "tick" exactly the same. I had a "swiss" rolex from king when i first joined the board. I don't think it ticked smooth enough. but, honestly, i don't trust king or the servicer who worked on that watch so i don't know what was in it. I'm going to get a omega PO with a 2824 - i will then be able to evaluate that next to a gen rolex and or my breit GT so i can decide for myself about all this your average asian movement beats at 18000 /hr so - exactly what rolex from what dealre are you talking about

i've tried messaging sellers and buyers - usually ismore trouble than its worth. The old standby is to register a quick dummy ebay acct and bid a rediculous amount. Then when the guy asks you to pay, you tell him that he has a fake and your going to report him to ebay

Welcome - read read read - unfortunatly, there is no easy way to learn this stuff, it comes from knowledge and experience. After about 9 months i think i really have my head wrapped around things, but then there are whole new worlds of reps that i still haven't begun to read. Here is the good - there has been a surge of amazing quality reps as of late - AND the bently GT is on that list. You already have by-tor's breit review - so sit back and enjoy i started my search for reps about 4 or 5 yrs ago looking for a chronomat or crosswind. i'm hoping to get a really good one early next year oh and PS - are you interested in having joey harrington back?

were looking at places in broward and palm beach county right now. Also were looking at dates of Jan 20th and Feb 3rd. But, were in the "tossing ideas out" phase also, if you want to be on the email loop, pm me your address.

I went back through the old RWG stuff and found the people that showed interest last time. I emailed those who i have email addresses for. I have the following forum names. If you are one of these people can you indicate if you want to remain on the list. If you have changed your forum name, can you let me know that so i can change the list. If you want off the list, or if you know of someone who isn't active on the board anymore but is ont he list and might want to go let me know. istretch the osteopath Whoozy daclothe bradster66 Relaxman lucky marcober spike monster-rat1 Lancelot gbacci kruzer00

probably not, i would approach im, but after what i read, i dunno, he is a 3rd generation watchmaker. your should read about it. ALso anthrax is doing some touring now so it sounds like he is busy with that. He is also coming out with his own line of watch. Thanks again for the link, very cool site.

I want to restate that i applaud what your doing and you did a great job. But i don't think that gets it at all. I particpated, no one liked my choices. So, apparently my tastes are not such that works for Jay. Having come to that conclusion why would i vote for a watch i don't intend to buy. I'm not a bad loser. But i also don't think its appropriate for me to vote for a watch that i have no intention of buying. I'm not saying you have to commit to buy to vote, but, if i can't see any forseeable chance of me nuying any one of the choices, it doesn't make sense for me to vote. - I'm not "mad" at it. I posted watches that i believed jay could make a profit with. I don't want him to fullfill my obscure personal wish list. But like i said, if i voted for the porche and the porche won and Pugwash who really wants the IWC now can't get the IWC and i don't intend on buying the porche - then what purpose have i served. I don't think you can reasonably expect any more then a number to vote for a particular piece then could be reasonably expected to buy it. Remember way back i asked if we could find out from jay what his expectations were. HOw many pieces do you sell to the board? how many does he have to sell to make it worth it? 50? 300? 1000? If only 40 of us bought the "ultimate PO" 45mm then, how can you expect reasonably that more than 40 of us would vote for a IWC model. Fact is, i just don't know what the numbers are so i don't know if we rose to the challenge or not. I think "well i just don't vote in polls" is a lame answer. But i don't think you should be down on those of us who particpated, but didn't vote in the end because we didn't want to effect the outcome of those who were interested in the pieces presented. by the way, is this one with the offset seconds ok or not. - i did have other chopards that were normal seconds at 6. - And were all the old polls deleted or just the ones that weren't rep-able, cause like i said i put up 2 chopards with your basic seconds at 6 layout. no chronos or anything and i can't seem to find them now. i mean on this one the seconds is offset - but so is the crown, it looks like hte movement is just put in a little rotated PS i'm already looking for 10k watches i think that Ulysse Nardin i put up, if the complication isn't that tuff, i just don't know these things would be huge. - Its based on a 2982a2 with a module. with more time and having it in the back of my head, i'm sure we'll get some "more different" submissions next time -

Ah cmon your bias cause you won. I posted at least 2 chopards that fit the rules and were interesting and different. They had modest interest but something out of the ordinary same ole by definition will not be a majority pleaser or it would be ordinary. Again, its not that only 2 watches would peak my interest even though I own 12. Its that those 2 watches don't peak my interest. I didn't vote no for polls cause a negative vote is stupid. If a watch got 200 positives and 400 negatives it would have made it cause no watch got 200 yes votes And like I said why would I want to keep pugwash from his choice if I don't care which 3 are made. So I stayed out when I wouldn't buy any of them. -

Even more important to realize that musical talent has zero to do with ability or capacity to make $$ If that were any bit the case dream theater would be well off and not 1 step from starving musicians. By the way I was reading up on that anthrax dude. He is super certified by chopard to be like the only person in the us to handle their 500'+ pieces
-
I recomend the 42mm wempe And ditto on what they said above

yeah same for me, if i wouldn't buy any of them, why would i vote for one? i particpated up until the point that no watch tthat i wanted to purchase was still in the running. I don't want this to sound the wrong way, but i don't really care which one of those watches we produce. I think there are plenty of folks here who care about the project, maybe even participated, but, when it comes down to it, i'm not going to chose arbitrarily or to try to figure out what "average consumers" want, i have no idea what sells and what doesn't Good job those who volunteered, i'm keeping my eyes out for a 10k model -
let us not forget the world is full of guys who can musically masterbate all day, but can't groove or be original worth a [censored]

believe it or not, not all the watch co's put all the variations on their site very annoying actually
-
Now there is a newb response. Those are real photos, taken in a light box. As well with the dealer photos, no photoshopping here, we don't need to, what you see is what you get. If it isn't we come down like a hammer on the offending member. By the way if I am wrong I will be happy to apologize but I don't think I am wrong

I think crystal needs his own subforum entitled philisophical musings of a rep owner esoteric and otherwise Ok that's a long title Too much for a rep is exactly any money over 100% profit after expenses for the dealer
-
Cornholio --- classic!!! You know most newbs are embarrassed or [censored] when they find the forum and realize they paid 3 times as much as they should for a watch. They generally don't brag about it, then [censored] about freedom of speech issues. They usually say - wait did I screw up? Ok let's compare so I know I either did or didn't do the right thing. Seriously can you at least make your scammer ways more interesting, this isn't even fun anymore

Welcome to the board. I was in spain last year, enjoyed it very much, except you guys eat dinner way to late. 10:00 pm is passed my bedtime.
