  1. No way Dutchy- I am the grouch of Easter and will remove your post and give you a big warn if you continue to post inappropriately. Almost gotya! Of course it can stay in Gen discussion. Happy anniversary Ken! offshore
  2. Thanks 8o8, I'd missed the 2nd one.. consider it reported as well. Scamming pr**ks, give us collectors a bad name Offshore
  3. Have a happy one- from all us here in Oz- and do us a favour and celebrate your 19th here... as a long term poster, we really welcome your attitude and energy. All the best. offshore
  4. JTB Received this answer " I do not think it is genuine because of the price, I am selling for a friend." Consider it called. offshore
  5. Well I have sent him a " Is this a genuine" question. Lets see if I get a reaction. Thanks Ken- I really didn't study it- ( and wouldn't know anyway)- it obviously just smelt fishy... and not because its ever been underwater offshore
  6. On Ebay Oz tonite- bloody awful photo to try and qualify- So come on you PO experts- the price is tooooo good. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi...item=8925185607 Orange dial indeed- maybe Bezel!!!! Offshore
  7. narikka, Please don't get me wrong- I only recently acquired one of the Ruihia tools, and its already become one of my most used- so much easier and quicker than a full blown case back tool, but it is not a cure all. I have yet to experience a situation where either my LG or Bergeon/Rolex would not do its job- they are also a part of my "armoury" ( I also have a crab, and a couple of cheap Chinese)- and they all get a run ... especially the crab- a wonderful little tool.... sometimes!! So the moral is... the right tool for the particular job, and the suction tool can work in some/ a lot of... situations. I remember a couple of years back- someone posted on TRC a suction cup tool... available from Walmart, from memory... like a miniature glass lifter...it was only a few $$ and needed some modification... but a lot of guys got them and they seemed to do a job... unfortunately we don't have Walmart here, and I have never been able to find something similar locally... if I could.. I would have one of these in a flash. So - horses for courses- and all part of the great learning experience! Again my catch cry... See my siggy!!!! offshore
  8. I've got both- spend the money for the Bergeon- the other works OK .....sometimes.... but you will need the Bergeon sooner than later. Offshore
  9. Chris I spent some time today going thru the counterfeit forum at Chronocentric. Whilst it is an Omega based forum, my overall feeling was that they didn't have a great grasp of the rep scene. I realise you are specifically talking about Pams, but thought at least some recognition of one forum who are at least trying to come to grips with reps was in order. For those interested, who may not have visited- http://www.chronocentric.com/forums/counterfeit/ Please however don't go in there and upset the applecart- just leave them in their own world. Some of the questions/comments make entertainng reading. offshore
  10. Thanks dadog, thats a great link- I posted it in LINKS some time back- I'm not having a shot at you- just trying to get our member friends used to using the link bar, I repeat - there is some wonderful info available there. Hey this is sounding like a "use the search button" rant.... and its not!!!!...I am just pointing everyone to the links section- I find great joy in "surfing the net" and hope some others can too! offshore
  11. Have a read of this post from the NAWC tools forum, its only recent, and shows the problems faced in defining "good" tools. http://nawcc-mb.infopop.cc/groupee/forums/...61/m/4796025672 Seems even Bergeon aren't necessarily.. stepping up to the plate... however they would be preferable, even with work needed, to some of the crap drivers that find their way on to the 'bay. Really the tips of some are close to butter, and after you have used some "respectable" drivers ... you really get to understand how the pros think. I have spent quite some $$ trying to put together a respectable set of gear, and I'm still only an utter novice. Nowhere more than in tools does Caveat Emptor apply. Search... research... ask questions... visit the forums... we have some fabulous links posted here... There is one thing I can guarantee you, if you don't - you WILL get burnt- if you do your homework.... you might not! offshore
  12. Well the death may be premature.. I'm still in.. but anarchy reigns supreme. offshore
  13. Here it is guys.. my dream watch... and available on the 'bay right now. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Super-cool-horn-Men...1QQcmdZViewItem Thought I may not let you in on this, but I'm sure noone will bid me out on this. And its NEW & VINTAGE to boot Anyway I am SO excited about this little gem, that I had to let you all see it, the style... the quality... the... the.. I'm lost for words!! If I can win this, maybe we can use the original to get it repped offshore Yes my mod mates, you can move this to humour!
  14. And welcome to you. As has been said many times - this place can become addictive.... and poses a serious threat to your bank balance offshore
  15. Happy Have a look in "Tools" in our links section- Borel, Otto Frei and many other good links. You will find for holders and the less used tools, the gear from China will suffice- as I said its only the drivers and pin band tool and bracelet link remover that cop a lot of work- even the last 2 are OK with spare tips- but screwdrivers....... just buy good quality! offshore
  16. Those kits are OK- most of the tools will work for you. However you will find in short time you really need better screwdrivers ( and probably spare tips for your springbar tool and bracelet pin tool.) But for the price must bits are useable. Offshore
  17. Dogs?? I’ve got a kennel full!! From time to time I buy a “lot” of 30-50 or 100 watches. Its amazing what turns up in these lots. My favourites are the 1st pair- matching his and hers Ralex's, and you’ll see in another shot I have a duplicate of the ladies… veeerrrry popular! The rest are assorted whoofers that would make a Canal St vendor cringe. Should I post these in Offers?? All working with new batteries! What am I offered for the lot ?? Think $1.89 would be far too much- and any freight would kill a deal. Excuse the quality of photo- just rushed 'em thru- and they don't deserve any more effort. Offshore
  18. Totally agree! And all points well put. Probably at this time- my siggy is never more appropriate. offshore
  19. Iso If they live in Australia- they would all be government funded- seems we have ample $$ for all the minority groups- just not much for the sick and poor! offshore
  20. Ken Give me a dimension- I'll see whats in there when I get'em! I'm sure there are some flat there though. offshore
  21. Had a bit of a win today- purchased 13 large boxes of crystals- total over 2000! Cost me A$200 so even by Australian accounting- thats about 10c a crystal. There are newer and vintage, and all manner of shapes. So if anyone has a specific need, maybe send me some dimensions or alternatively a scale outline drawing. ( I'll send my fax number to any enquirers) Cost is what I paid- 10c- plus post ( shouldn't be a lot) I don't get them for another week- have to drive a couple of hundred Km's to collect ( probably do it over easter) Also got 10 boxes of mainsprings??? God knows whats in there! a crystal press, a movement holder, tweezers, and a quartz battery tester ( which is superfluous to my needs if anyone wants one) I also have hundreds of cheaper leather straps- all sizes from 8mm thru 24,- anyone needing something only has to give me a yell. Haven't posted this in Offers- as its not REALLY for sale- just to help anyone needing some bits. Geeze maybe a mod might warn me or something over this offshore
  22. Ken Maybe worry about getting the rest up and running first- I'll have a dig thru my junk and see what I can find. offshore
  23. Hey RBJ - how are ya? Actually he won't need a crystal- its there! Just a small hand and some patience- neither of which I had. Hope it works out well. offshore
  24. KB Done- its on its way (tonite) Hope you can turn it into something. Offshore
