Guys, I have been using for 1 month now, a new CC processor called Paymate on the Go. http://www.paymate.com/cms/ It is simply a system like Pay Pal, however they supply a swipe reader, which you plug into the aerial of your smart phone.(Works with limited models) Its the easiest thing, you insert the reader, turn up the volume to full, open their app, and swipe the card. The client can sign with their finger on touch screen, and the following day, funds are in your account less 2.25% The reader cost $20.00, which is a damn sight better than the $50/month I was paying for an EFTPOS machine! Admittedly it only offers CC processing, however my transactions were nearly all CC anyway. It appears that PP are also about to offer a similar system. Bloody amazing technology. Offshore

offshore replied to robertresh's topic in Watch Repair & Upgrade
@jag, Give me some dimensions, I am almost certain I have that crystal in stock if you don't want to cut one. O/S -

Guys, I have been offered these springbars, purportedly "OEM", in gold and s/s, 316L s/s, in sizes 17mm, 19mm, and 20mm for President bracelets. They would sell at $4.00 pair. Should I carry them? All sizes? Gold and silver? Tell me what is popular please, I really can't get my head around this one at all. So some input from the knowledge centre seems appropriate! Thanks, Offshore

Mate, You should have a look at the hand made timber pens from another Aussie.....Graman, over at RWI. http://www.replica-watch.info/vb/showthread.php/pens-timber-106740.html He is from Melbourne and makes some wonderful handmade Aussie timber pens. Rollerball, Fountain, and Propelling pencil are available. I sell these at a Sunday market, here on the Gold Coast, and they are snapped up, especially by the tourists. Offshore

Where to find the pin that connects bracelet to watch
offshore replied to noobinstein's topic in The Tag Heuer Area
@jkay, Just be a bit careful. I have seen a couple of Tags with push pins used instead of spring bars...normally large dia, either 1.0 or 1.2 pins.( And they are pretty long as they include the lugs) (30+mm) Conform with OP we are 100% talking spring bars. O/S -
The OP is a country member...... :ALL CHORUS: "Yes, we remember!"

Carl, I am no longer a mod, so have no insight into what may or may not be discussed- however as a TD I have a right of edit over my forum entries, just like KB would have over his. AND just the same as all dealers. So he and I have no more or less "power" than any other dealer. O/S

Mate, Ken was a mod here a long long time before he ever started dealing. (in accessories not watches I might add) In fact he was a mod at our previous home for a long time as well. He would be approaching 10 years in service to this community , if I am not wrong. This place wouldn't even exist if it wasn't for Kens efforts to rebuild here after our old home became a derelict ship. He single handedly approached Thomas to assist in setting up a new operation for us, and we all should never forget this. If it wasn't for KB this place wouldn't exist! Having said that, Ken asked the admin team to remove himself as a moderator, the moment he decided to go into business here.. It was his peers who fought with him to stay, as we knew he would be the first to disqualify himself from any discussion which had any bearing on his ability to be impartial. How do I know all this? Because I also was a mod here for some years and I also wanted to leave when I decided to open a shop. Just like Ken! And I remained a moderator here for many years whilst I was also a dealer. In fact I only resigned my moderator standing relatively recently due to a personal conflict I had within the Admin team. They all however remain my closest friends, and a more honest and caring group of human beings, you will not find anywhere else. So never have any...........not 1 particle of doubt.......... in the fact that the people running your forum are above and beyond any shadow of question. I would trust any of them with my life........with KB at the front of the line. Offshore.

Yes mate, hooded lugs, with a mesh bracelet. I also bought a yellow rubber band for those 'sport" days! And yes it is quite stunning, certainly turns heads, and raises comments...probably more in 1 day today than for all my other pieces , ever! BTW, I stole a Seawolf from a guy in Europe last night, That should be with me in a week or so. Nice late model piece in nice nick. So many watches, so few wrists! O/S

Well my little treasure touched down today, all 101atm or 1000M W/P case of it! It really has a presence, wears pretty big for its 44mm. The most outstanding feature is the clear bakelite bezel, which allows the lume bezel numbers to shine through. Quote The bakelite bezel is coloured in a multi-stage process. First the phosphorescent SuperLuminova material is applied by hand, followed by colouring with varnishes immune to seawater corrosion, and then application to the supporting steel substrate. This guarantees that the component is warm to the touch while guaranteeing excellent bevel legibility thanks to the transparency.Like the model that inspired it, the bezel can always be unscrewed from above. Not that you can see, but its on a superbly comfortable proprietary mesh bracelet... a wonderful addition. This is one lovely watch guys, I feel privileged to be able to own it.! Offshore

Yep, a sticky ball, or duct tape will sometimes open them.. Sometimes a rubber glove works as well! But not always however. And certainly not if they have been properly sealed using the correct tool! Which means you will never properly seal one with these makeshift tools either. Spend the money for the correct tool for the job. And save on the rebuild when it has filled with water because it wasn't closed correctly. http://watchbitz.com.au/shop/index.php?searchStr=Breitling&_a=viewCat&Submit=Go (And registered RWG members buy a lot better than that!) Rick, You are correct that they can be made for $100. So why would you pay $1000? The testers being sold at $2-300 are in some cases very good pieces of equipment. You will see that the one we sell - http://watchbitz.com.au/shop/index.php?_a=viewProd&productId=116 is made in China, but it is a quality piece of equipment. We have each one quality checked before purchase, and have now sold more than 100 with zero problems. And whilst these home made units can and will work, there is always a very real risk of explosion, which could have devastating results. Be VERY careful in the use of compressed air, it can have fatal consequences if misused. Offshore.

After 10 + years around this forum, I still have never put up a "wristie" So it needs to be a pretty special watch ( not photo) Fresh from the spa, with a minor repair to replace a collapsed jewel, and now fitted with a gleaming "Expandro" bracelet, courtesy of the wild man of the North, (my eternal gratitude Nanuq) we have the "Sharkhunter" Still needs a couple of tweaks, but I can assure you the scratches on the sides are in fact arm hairs and what appear to be machine marks on the bezel are not evident in real light.Must be some photo anomaly. But sweet she is, and a dream to wear, that bracelet is sooooo comfy. Thanks Nanuq, both for the bracelet, and steering me to this piece of history. Offshore

You can't say cock! (Wow it let me...must be 'cos I'm a plat??) Yes in looking the hair spring certainly appears to be OK. On the machine and pull it down! O/S

Almost worth buying for parts. O/S

i doubt you will adjust 4+ min/hour out of it! I'll go with magnetized or tangled hairspring. Frank's "palm slap" is the cheapest service around, and does help a small percentage. O/S

I have just placed another order for more watches as the 1st lot have been basically taken up. Looks like I will only be getting a couple more of the NOS vintage, although one model which is proving very popular still has 30 pieces left.(Another 6 of that one in this order) I now have price lists and a list of all the production watches with pricing, which I can email to anyone who sends their email addy to watchbitz@bigpond.com. Thanks gents. Offshore

Those who have an interest in these, need to get on to it. ASAP! Of 20 watches in the initial shipment, 7 are sold, 3 on hold pending funds, and another 3 from the "new" products area also have been placed on order to be shipped. Still a few left, but not too many...and when they're gone...they're gone! Offshore

A quick update- this is moving ahead, and the first shipment is on its way. I am working on having a "Squale Australia" website up and running in a couple of weeks. Guys, Indulge me here whilst I take a short stroll through history.. Founded in 1946, the Squale brand name is a synonym for Swiss Made professional diving watches. In the beginning, Squale produced watches and watch cases for various Swiss brands who didn't have the knowledge to build professional dive timepieces. The smaller brands used the Squale logo on their dial as a sign of quality. In 1950, Squale began to produce their own range of professional diving watches under the Squale name marking the beginning of the brands institutional history. At the end of End 1960`s, Squale introduced their first 1000 meter divers watch with a unique glass on flexible mountings that didn't use or need a Helium release valve. Squale started to supply the elite corps of a large number of armed forces, including the parachutists corps "Folgore Brigade" part of the Italian Airforces ( "Aeronautica Militare Italiana") and the Italian Navy’s Diving Corps, the "Marina Militare Italiana". This made Squale legendary for quality and they became the benchmark brand for dive watches internationally, a status it has enjoyed for several decades. Squale for decades has become synonymous with quality and reference point of diving watches worldwide. Super, Master, Medium, and 1000M cases, were sold to brands such as Altanus Genève, Arlon, Potens Prima, Prima Flic, Jean Perret Geneva, Ocean Diver / Blandford, Deman Watch, Margi, Berio, Eagle Star Genève, La Spirotechnique, Wertex, Carlson Tavernier Geneva and Sinn. 500m Cases with a crown at 4 were sold to brands like Airin, Dodane, Blancpain, Tag Heuer, Doxa, Zeno and Auricoste, just to to name a few. Zeno lately but more in particular Tag Heuer, Doxa and Auricoste in their Spirotechnique versions and Blancpain in the Bund 3H. These gave Squale quite some international prestige in the early 70s Thanks to this commercial success; in 1974, Squale decided to market their own watches as an independent entity, with their own cases, and now alone with Squale name on the dial. The relaunch of The Squale brand in February 2010 and its new production in Grenchen in the Swiss Jura valley portend an exciting future for the brand. Now, an interesting side light of the relocation of Squale from Italy to Switzerland, was that some limited quantities of original 1970 cases and dials were located in the warehouse. Squale have decided to package them with new movements and straps, boxes and 2 years warranty, and offer them for sale at very reasonable prices. The only issue is that the lume on some dials is not 100%, as would be understood. You can see some of the modela being offered by a UK company here-http://www.watchgecko.com/catalog/index.php/cPath/39/osCsid/7a780c5afb387ffcd876cc80633cb393 Even more important, most if not all of these see here, will be able to be purchased, at even better prices than these, via myself, from a contact I have. And the new release Pro series as seen here will also be available at much reduced pricing to anyone interested. http://www.longislandwatch.com/Squale_Professional_Dive_Watches_s/1866.htm There will be approx 20 watches being shipped over the next week or so, if anyone has any interest in a specific Squale model, please contact me by PM, let me know the model and any specifics in dial/bezel/strap config, and I will get that model quoted and advise you. Pricing will include registered post to your home country so please list that as well. Thanks guys, an exciting time, with some interesting models. Offshore.

Can't understand that one, its on a repeat auction run. Either it didn't get a bid last auction, or he pulled it before the end and has relisted. If it didn't get a bid...no one thinks its worth a lot!!!!!!! O/S
