  1. I don't think so. The balance wheel spokes are the same as the 'older' swan neck version, not the newer one. The '7th' addition probably refers to the fact that its an AR crystal - the first for any 47mm production model. I wonder why Aspire keeps mismatching movement/models in all his latest swan neck offerings - strange
  2. I could pull THIS one off. But only cuz it doesn't look to be worth anything near the asking price of $100K
  3. I don't think that 'quality' is available on RWG from most dealers here
  4. This isn't an in depth technical review but just some impressions. I wanted to get a couple of the new Swiss 6497 swan neck movements to replace the standard 6497/1 movements that were common just a few months ago so decided to order an entire watch that has the new movement from Paul for $189. I think he has about 10 or more Pams with this movement, all for $189, but the fiddy seems to be the only correct marrige of movement/model so thats the 1 I ordered. I may just try to sell the casing for $100 or so here or on ebay Anyway, impressions of the watch: The casing, to my untrained eye, seems to be the same as all the others I've seen. The strap on the other hand has got to be the worst I've seen on a pam rep. It looks & feels like vinyl. The dial seems pretty good with alot better lume than all the other models I've had - lume on dial matches lume on hands. It is defintely different than my fiddy from Josh and I'll take some pics side-by-side so ya'll can tell me which is more accurate. The Aspire dial has a more matte finish than the Josh dial, which is almost shiny by comparison. I don't know what the gen dial characteristics are in this respect. The movement can be removed without removing the bezel and the dial mesaures about .5 mils less than the Josh dial, which had to be removed from the front. The hour wheel and cannon pinion on the new movement are the correct height, but the rep hands (minute hand is .60 mils, hour hand is .83 mils) are too tall. I'm going to attempt to file em down but I've already ordered Davidsen hands cuz I know theres a good possibility I'll screw em up. I'll post pics of the dials tomorrow. So, except for the crap strap, I don't think you can go wrong with this piece for the price, either as is, or for the donor movement & other parts. Aspire's New Pam Series Fiddy
  5. Mine from EL has the same lilac light AR that can be seen when viewd from a fairly accute angle & it seems to be pretty effective. I'm not sure why other members want the same garish purple effect that the early 111 had. Thats just ugly.
  6. Are these CGs "new & improved" cuz the cutout is square & not rounded.....anything else?
  7. How come this 5218-201/a has a sanwhich dial, and Davidsen's doesn't?
  8. This is it, isn't it?? Seems to have been out since early April ... New Pam111H Looks pretty good to me
  9. The CGs suck, and the pearl is the same ol' flat pearl as lots of other sellers.
  10. I doubt MBW is 440. 440 SS can only be CNC milled as part of an annealing process and requires a whole different setup than standard CNC equipment offers.
  11. Crown is in the "adjust date" position but since the 212 doesn't have date, it just turns and does nothing. You'll need to pull out the crown a little further till the top of the crown butts up againts the bottom of the crown guard - common problem with the 212
  12. Looks that way. He's got a whole page of Pams for $189 with the incorect 6497/1 swan neck movement
  13. I guess I was wondering why Aspire has several new vintage Pam offerings featuring the swan neck regulated 6497/1 Vin Pam Page
  14. Lots of 187 topics these days so I guess I'll add my 2 cents cuz I'm disappinted in mine. For starters, the bezel doesn't align properly, and the knurled [censored] on the top pusher has quite a bit of rub on the guard assembly. And I got 1 with a bad movement. Luck of the draw I guess. The brake on the hour counter doesn't work so the counter runs continously. Plus the reset doesn't always work properly. So there goes the myth regarding the new & improved Asia 7753..... But the crystal does appear to have a light AR coating with a barely perceptible purple tint when viewed at certain angles. I've contacted Eddie so I guess I'll either get a new watch or a new movement. We'll see
  15. I think it may be a genuine reject or surplus movement. I can see where they machined off (those 2 circular swirl marks) the model number under the balance wheel.
  16. Oh Gawd, looks like Richmont has finally decided to snatch a page or 2 from the Rolex playbook.
  17. I got the new TT Sub with solid gold endlink yesterday - $219, and compared it with the TT Sub I got from abay about a year ago for $249. The casing, dial, & clasp are the same, but something about not having the SS show on the side of the endlink makes his current offering at $30 less a much better deal than a year ago. I've got the new offering 1:1 127 for $189 on the way - The pics are of 1:1 although he says RXW casing - we'll see
  18. ......or Buy 2 Aspire Pams, both with the wrong movements, then do a mov't swap You can start with W-1686 127 5th edition which has the 1:1 casing and the Geneva mov't - $229 Then get 1 of the $189 pieces (217, 111H, 183H) and....the result is 2 'perfect' reps for what some other dealers charge for 1
