Have you even held a gen IWC? I'll tell you that photo's don't do a IWC justice. IWC doesn't have any gimmicks or bling bling.... they're just classy and elegant. And very very well built and high quality watches. I'd take the QVC style logo over a bling bling Rolex crown. Here are a few shots of the gen IWC's I own. I just picked up the Portuguese... that watch is beautiful! These are my photos that I took, and I'm no photographer... but I'm sure professional photos make the watch look much nicer.

i e-mailed omega that my omega smp box was destroyed and they sent me a new one free of charge. i didn't get the warranty card or anything, but i got the outer box and the inner red box free. now thats what i call service!

i got andrew's PO and the 2nd clasp (dive suit clasp) is VERY loose.... it never stays in place. is this normal?

Thats exactly how I feel. I don't have a single rep rolex, but I wouldn't get a gen either. Once you've seen a datejust or a submariner, all the other models look somewhat the same. only the daytona stands out.

hahaha.... thats funny... but...people have different priorities than others. just cause he works at a watch store doesn't always mean they will drop $2-5k on a watch.

The IWC GST Chrono is a very popular rep out there. I've owned the Gen for a good 5 years and I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw photos of the rep. At first glance it seemed almost perfect! But after some analyzing, I caught a few things and here is a photo comparison of the gen and rep. In case you guys are looking for a gen on ebay or somewhere... and to be aware of scammers out there. Please note that I've NEVER seen or handled a rep IWC GST Chrono. I'm only comparing it to the photos I found on this forum to my gen IWC GST Chrono. The pictures I used belongs to Sql_pl (rep) and myself (gen). - Dial: The biggest give away is the dial. On a gen, it is not WHITE. The dial is actually SILVER. It may be hard to tell in photos, but if you hold and move a gen against a shining light, the silver dial will reflect. - The subdials are more recessed and is a seperate piece from the dial. - The timer hand for the chronograph is metallic blue on a gen. You have to move it around shining light to see the reflection of the blue. - The "SCHAFFHAUSEN" underneath the Day/Date is off on the replica. The "S" should be aligned with the Day/Date box. See below photos, the rep has the "S" outside the Day/Date box. - The SS clasp on a gen has metallic swirls in which the rep does not. - The serial number on all reps are 2732649

the bezel is uni-directional counter-clockwise which doesn't require for you to push down and rotate. I have no idea if you can unscrew it from the case to clean... not going to try it... but I doubt it.

I have a gen of the newer version AT. My research shows that the bands are both interchangable.

Initial Impressions: The crown does screw down.... but the bezel looks like it was painted with a sharpie marker.... anyone else received theirs yet? and i'm also dissapointed the ss band doesn't fit my gen AT. The movement looks good and the lume isn't bad. The SS band is smaller than my Gen AT which makes me believe this watch is a little smaller then a gen.. by a few mm. But the band isn't bad for a rep... definately not as solid as my gen SS GST band. overall.... not bad........ but that bezel.... that bezel........ not sure what to think about it.... Second Impression: You know.... after looking at it for a while.... the bezel is really not THAT bad... in darker areas and especially on your wrist, no one can see anything wrong with it. but in a bright lit area or in daylight, you can kinda see the paint reflection when you pay attention. Overall.... I'm keeping as one of my daily wear watches. The movement is solid and should keep accurate time for a long time. If it wasn't for the bezel paint, this watch would be perfect... but then again.... nothing is perfect right?

LOL!! Yeah, I was trying to link the same photos here to a post on Timezone's IWC forum. But I just realized that unless you're logged into RWG, the images won't show up. And someone noticed that the photos were linked to Replica Watch Group. Anyways, both my IWC's are gen and I found RWG because I was searching for a site on how to spot fakes. But I ended up really liking this forum and the people here. So I made some rep purchases (Pam 29, PO, and the old IWC AT). I'm not ashamed of being a member here, its all about enjoying watches... real or fake. (as long as you don't lie about your fakes... I think owning a rep is perfectly fine)
