congrats on 9 years! Wow... I can't believe it's just about 9 years since I joined too. crazy.

I've been away from the replica watch scene for a while... but I was cleaning out my drawers and I found my old replica IWC Cousteau but the hands fell off the dial, date wheel seems stuck. Anyone have any references to who I can send this to get fixed? My local watchmakers in Seattle don't touch reps. Thanks in advance.

just got mine from Precious Time a few days ago. Watch is perfect (except lume, AR... which I expected). It might've taken slightly longer, but Precious Time has good QC to ensure the watches are perfect before going out.

this is a pretty ignorant statement. It is based on the Val movements, but they customize it so much, that it is almost considered their own movement. 79350 chronograph such as pilot's watch and port chrono are both BASED on Vaj' 7750 But what the diff' they make 1. Second dial is modi' from 9' to 6' 2. No hours counter dial 3. No day and date 4. 79350 has 31 jewels 79320 has 25 jewels To move the subseconds dial might be just fror aesthetic reasons, but that requires reworking the entire movement and adding parts. That is the reason that there's six more jewels in the 79350. That reworking significantly increases the cost. "Based on" means just that, i.e. IWC looked at the design of various existing calibres and based their new calibre layout on the design of the 7750 because they considered it delivered what they were looking for in terms of power, strength and reliability, and they had neither the intention nor any desire to reinvent the wheel. The movements are still assembled in-house at Shauffhausen by hand. There are many many big companies that use modified movements cost as much if not more than IWCs.

if you want one that bad.... really, get a Gen... these are my gens.... love them. i bought a couple port reps and it lasted a few months

i just ordered mine from precious time. should get it next week. just reading the posts.... is the day/date wheel that bad that it needs to be replaced? how different are the fonts?

what is it with the fascination of a bracelet? I think the watch is beautiful with the rubber strap. It is a diver's watch after all. Also, the rubber strap is extremely comfortable and light. Not too bling bling and gives the watch a sporty look. I have so many watches with a bracelet, i look forward to getting a watch with a leather or rubber strap.

My IWC Asian Cousteau's day wheel is stick on Sat and won't move. I've called around couple watch repair shops in Seattle and they won't work on it. Does anyone have any recommendations on a reputable replica watch repair guy? locally preferred, but at this point, I'm willing to send it to get it fixed. Thanks

The port is definately better than the Jones rep. I've never seen a Laureus Port in person before, so I can't say how close the dial colors are. (main reason why I got the laureus port is cause I'll probably never get the chance to own a gen). But the build and quality of the case, caseback, dial, and weight is very very very well done. I'm so afraid to use the chronograph, so I don't think I'll ever even try it (really, who needs a 30 minute chronograph anyways?) I only got the gen because i like the look of the dials. I main thing I can tell the difference is that the numeral markers are applied (glued) onto the rep. The gen ports are raised numerals (the numerals are part of the dial, not seperate)

I just received the Laureus Port Rep from River today.... lemme tell ya, this watch is no joke. It is really really really close to the original. I'm considering selling my gen port now....... NOT!! I'll never sell my gens because I have a rep of it. Owning the real deal has a totally different feeling. But Overall.... really good quality. My digi cam is broken, otherwise, I'd take some photos.

As an avid gen IWC collector and fan for the past 6 years, I'm kinda sad that IWC has become this main-stream. When I first bought my GST Chrono a while back, I was so proud to own the brand and model. Now there are reps of my watch left and right. But imitation is the highest form of flattery right? Anyways, if I can have just one IWC... It would have to be the most complicated IWC created ever. The Il Destriero Scafusia.

I agree that the rep is very well done. But the blue chronograph hands really give it away. As you can see from the photos of my gen, the blue hands are really hard to photograph because the metallic blue is so dark. Anyways, here are a few photos... enjoy... and the GST Chrono is a gen as well.
