  1. THIS POST IS WORTHLESS WITHOUT PICS!!!!! I'LL LIVEN IT UP!! Fred Durst Bill Clinton Peyton Manning David Beckham Michael Jordan George Bush Sr. Nicole Kidman Charlize Theron Heidi Klum
  2. at work, all the execs have gold or platinum rolexes. I don't think any of them are watch experts, but they know their Rolexes.
  3. the original boxes and paperwork comes with instructions on how to use the dials. I never bothered myself to read it, but it has something to do with aviation.
  4. I hate it when people post watches on ebay as authentic when they are fake. I've reported this to ebay but they still haven't pulled it. From the auction: This is my IWC titanium GST watch. It is completely authentic or a full refund will be provided. It’s about a year old but the box and papers were lost approx 7 months ago. Hence the low starting price – however this is an expensive watch and I really don’t want to sell it – but I’ve got to start saving some money this year! http://cgi.ebay.com/IWC-TITANIUM-GST-AUTOM...1QQcmdZViewItem
  5. everyone has different priorities, preferences, and responsibilities. just because they have money doesn't mean they should buy something that you like. you can't critized them that they have no style or respect for keeping time. My boss makes 3 times more than me and he wears a swiss army watch. But he has a nice home, cars, and kids. A watch is not important to him.
  6. This is the closest thing to a firearm I have. My EX Power 240 Single Pump Action Watergun and my IWC Portuguese Chrono Somehow.... it doesn't have the same effect as with a real gun
  7. this rule applies to ALL 7750 variation movements. gen or rep.
  8. Whats wrong with a 6 year old 325? I spent a lot of money on it when I bought it new. Its still worth a good chunk of change... :cc_confused: Here is a photo of my "6 year old 325". I'm 28 years old and I own several gen IWCs and other high profile gens.... people say I look like I'm 18 and I dress like a scrub... image isn't everything.
  9. There is a community college in my area (Seattle) that has a watch program. The only one on the west coast. They accept very few applicants a year. I actually applied and was selected. I turned it down because I couldn't afford to go back to school for 2 years full time and then end up making half of what I make right now. http://www.northseattle.edu/watch/
  10. Yes those are my personal thoughts and is not meant to be a generalized statement about others. But nothing is. This just comes down to personal preference. Why does someone need a $250K Ferrari when you can get a brand new Kia for $9K and does the same thing? I came from Timezone, and I'm very open minded when it comes to gens and reps. But my roots of collecting watches lean towards gens. Obviously the posts here will favor reps because this is a rep board. Post this topic at any gen board and see what the replies would be. Anyways, I love my gens and reps. But will I ever stop buying a gen I really want because there is a rep of it? Nope. I have a gen IWC GST Chrono that there are a tons of reps out there of.... but I would never consider selling it to own a rep of that watch and purchase other reps.
  11. It doesn't matter if you have a rep that is 99% accurate to a gen, it just doesn't feel right. Wearing a gen, you know in your heart that its real and you just have that confidence wearing the watch. How many of you guys would wear your rep to an AD and roll up your sleeves? Its the feeling you have wearing a nice gen that you worked hard for and not afraid to show it off. I love wearing my gen IWCs, Zenith, GP.... etc and telling people about the watch and the history of it. I can't do that with a rep and a straight face. I only buy reps for watches that I would NEVER purchase a gen of. (Panerai, Omega PO....etc...). I like to wear them casually.... and nice to keep as part of my collection and have a nice variety. But if it's a watch you genuinely like and want, buy the gen. For me, its like downloading MP3s. I only download songs that I would listen every once a while and an artist I don't care to much for. But if its an artist that I truly like and enjoy listening to, I'll buy their CD. I mean, they worked hard on it, and they deserve getting paid for it.
  12. I have the same problem. Do you think I can fix it myself? which part had to be bent back?
  13. hahaha.... I drive a BMW too... but never been questioned on its authenticity
  14. I like some of the stories on this post.... so I'll contribute my story about how I got into watches and my first rep. It all started about 10 years ago when my brother sold me his gen Tag Heuer. At that time, I was 18 years old and I didn't know what brand name watches were (except Rolex of course). So, I did some research and found out that Tag Heuer was a premium brand. So, one day I threw a house party full of strangers and I passed out drunk. I woke up the next morning with my Tag missing from my wrist. Since then, I wouldn't wear a watch unless it was a brand name watch. My friend went to NY for a trip and came back with a horrible rep Tag Heuer Link watch for me. I wore it for a while until I bought another gen Tag and then bought a gen Omega. Then I started to really into gen watches. Now I have 4 gen IWCs, Zenith, Girard Perregaux, Fortis...... etc. I collected about 20 gen watches and it costed me a fortune. So one day I was cleaning my drawer and I found the rep Tag my friend gave me and thought about all the money I spent on gens. I got onto the internet and searched for reps (by this time, I've heard of all kinds of watch brands including Panerai). I found the iOffer website where tons of reps were being sold and my first rep was a Swiss Pam 111 from Eddie Lee about 2 or 3 years ago (paid about $450 for it). I loved that rep and wanted more, but right after that I lost my job and couldn't afford anything new for a while. It wasn't until this year I searched for Eddie Lee and replica watches that I stumbled onto RWG1 and now to this forum. Now I have 5 reps and 20 gens. I've been slowing selling my gens so I can get more reps.... hahah....
  15. The girl that won the auction apparently don't know anything about watches and buying it as a gift for her boyfriend, so those are the people that these scammers target. And there are a lot of them out there.
  16. I e-mailed the winner of this auction and told them its a fake: http://cgi.ebay.com/Omega-Planet-Ocean_W0Q...1QQcmdZViewItem it turns out that its a girl trying to surprise her boyfriend with a $3,000 watch for $700. she told me she knows nothing about watches and was going to pay for it. I stopped her and assured her that its fake. Lets hope she listens.
  17. I've always owned gens, so everyone around me thinks all my reps are gen. They'll never question me, but if I ever get caught slippin' wearing a rep... then they'll probably think all my gens are reps.
  18. i reported those auctions to ebay as counterfeits. you guys need to do the same... and not just sit back and let them sell their crap at 3 or 4x the value.
  19. Tag and Zenith are owned by the same company. The Tag Caliber 36 is a Zenith El Primero movement. In a sense, the Tag and the Zenith are the same quality, it just comes down to brand preference and style
  20. there is a rep..... not very good though... http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showtopic=4548
  21. This is on my wrist right now. Just took this picture 5 minutes ago.
  22. the current minute repeater is 42 mm without crown. too bad this one isn't a 42
  23. hmmm.... i don't think the guy that went to Basel was evilboy.... I found this on the website... I wonder why he's on RWG? http://www.watchwallpapers.com/dogfun.gif
