I often think I'm in the market for a classic dress watch.......and then instead a few weeks later I'm sitting wearing a newly acquired Ploprof or equivalent.  It's a problem.  Turn up to dinners ready to leap off the RV Calypso at a moment's notice.

Anyone else do this?  Even though I know which is which, I get caught out every couple of months where I have to stop and think (or at least try and remember).

I have an IWC 3717, and it isn't that they look identical.  In fact the rep looks better because it has nicer 'chief' AR, so when I pick both up my first line of thinking is I think the gen is the one that looks worse.  Then I have to mess around with the bracelet, that's stiffer on the gen.  And setting the time is a completely different story on the gen (even though the rep is an ETA, it's not had the same servicing).

Anyway, not matter how many times it's happened, it does keep catching me out.

Anyone else have this?
