Bringing this post back from the dead as I have a related question.  I have a 2007 Silix purchased HBB Lite.  Still works other than the chrono hand is off a bit and it's kind of beat.  I had it sent out for double AR in 2008 done by "chief".  The AR on the front is scratched all to hell just like Legend mentioned above.  Is there some way I can go about removing the AR myself?

OMG, did you put it in a tumble dryer?  Or wore it on the Paris to Dakar Rally?

    Hi all.

It is your long lost admin, just stopping by to tell you that it is time for me to say a final goodbye to the watch forums and to RWG.

Life has thrown me some pretty heavy curveballs for some time and I have been to hell and back several times over the last years. Returning here and seeing that Nanuq had passed away was also a shock! Not going to elaborate more than that, but all of this has for a long time left me with no other choice than to focus 100% on real life and only doing what was necessary to keep the forum updated, either when something broke and somebody reminded me to fix it or when I had the time and energy to pass by and update things.

These forums have been an important part of my life for so many years and I have had the pleasure of getting to know people all around the world, so writing this fills me with immense sadness. But there is a time and place for everything! It has been a pleasure being your admin and being a part of so many peoples lives.

Now, this also means that I will be putting RWG up for sale. One of those curveballs was a business partner who screwed me over and left me in some serious debt and hopefully somebody will see the potential in a forum with 75.000+ members and perhaps be able to renew the forum and monetize this properly.  If nobody is interested, the forum will most likely be closed.....

    Sale post here: https://rwg.cc/topic/197710-rwg-is-for-sale/

If you feel like (and I only ask of those who can afford it) saying thanks for all the years I have kept the doors open to this home, a donation that can help me with some of my financial challenges will he highly appreciated; https://rwg.cc/clients/donations/2-so-long-and-thanks-for-all-the-fish/

If you prefer a private donation, you can use paypal and send funds to payment@frostbite.pro

Thank you for everything all these years.

I'm gutted that you're facing challenges, hopefully those are short-lived and better news around the corner.

  3. David, I'm devastated to hear this, and so sorry for you and your family.  I only just logged in to catch up on his latest adventures.

I thought so highly of him, everyone did, and I don't think it's even possible not to.  What an absolute tragedy.

As Ken mentioned above, I was on the same team too.  And we're talking 17 years of correspondence (and longer for many folks on here), I don't know where the time went, but we all looked quite stylish checking it.

    Miss you Bob.

Hi folks ... it's been almost months since I haven't posted here ...

I've had to put dialmaking and watchmaking aside and stay off from the forums for a while because I moved to a new house with my new GF and kids ... reconstructing a new family takes a lot of time.

Then, early 2022, I had to take care of 2 old guys I love ... really close family ...
One is almost OK now, though his brain is still so so ...
The other one leaved our good hearth last week ... not in a starship I mean, he died after hard weeks of intensive care at the hospital ...
Sometimes life is shitty and old age is not a bed of roses ...

Now I start again working on watches and it proves to be helpful to avoid thinking about bad things ... so let's put sadness aside ... I'm happy to be back here ...
So during the past week I 've been making some Doxa dials ... precision work was helpfull to sothe the mind ...

Aqualungs ... one standard early Doxa and two from the Synchron era ...

Blacklungs too ... not that much cause they require specific dial plates (I'm waiting for some more) ...

Divingstars ... All Synchron era ... two standards and one "Poseidon" with that nice logo

And two Sharkhunters ... those are not as popular than the others but they are really nice too ...

Sorry to hear about your sadness.

    Inspiring dial work.

I think you need to double check your psychiatrist's credentials!  This one seems a little severe.

It's all complicated by them being speculative assets for some buyers at the moment, it adds a whole different dimension.

Hi, I've been a collector for years and honestly the only watches I wear these days are G-shocks and my owc (austrailia microbrand). I've had other higher end watches, but for the performance/upkeep I've found that these guys are hard to beat or the mechanical japanese watches too. I look forward to being a part of the community and to see the other collections out there.

    Welcome Dan!

Nice choices there.  I've not heard of OWC before, they look good.  I have some Panzera watches which are another Australian microbrand.
