  1. Well, it appears they've added an AR coating, but it still lacks the display caseback and the push-button clasp. If you go to a Tag Heuer AD, and check out a link-chrono, you'll see what I mean.
  2. This might seem trivial, but I'd like the updated link chrono with double AR, display caseback, and pushbutton clasp. Pic related.
  3. Looks fake to me. It says Automatic on the dial, but the subdial configuration suggests a quartz movement. Also, the description doesn't match the images. He says it has a display back, but it doesn't. The box might be real though.
  4. That is amazing! I can't believe it's the same old watch!
  5. What a let down. I'm waiting for the day they rep the push-button clasp and display back. I can always get the AR done later, but I need those other parts to make the perfect Link chrono.
  6. Perfection. Rolex really does make the best sub!
  7. It's Thai. Very cool pics, too. Thanks abakan!
  8. That's not an Omega Seamaster replica...It's the Theta Spymaster! It's probably borderline legal as it doesn't actually infringe on any copyrights, but it does copy the design of the SMP closely. I wonder if they make those in the same factories as the Omega replicas.
  9. Got any pics of said phones? Also, where did you order them?
  10. Remove the bezel insert by heating/prying and pop out the old pearl from the back using a small jeweler's screwdriver. check size of hole against the watchmaterial pearl. Most likely, you'll need to widen it a bit. To do this, use either a jeweler's file or an exacto knife. Keep checking for a snug fit. Once it's in, add a dab of epoxy or gorilla glue to the back of the pearl to seal it in place. You can use use a file or an emery board to smooth out rough edges, but the side of the SSD links are polished, so I would recommend leaving them alone.
  11. I would leave it that way. It gives the watch character. But if you really want to restore it, just wipe some black paint in there.
  12. This is a lot of watch for $98. I was inspired by this thread enough to buy one and attempt some light modding. I did the WM pearl swap and sanded the insert(along with my fingertips) so it would sit lower in the bezel. Pics lack the bracelet because she was taking an oil bath at the time. The bracelet feels much better now. Next up are the CGs, but I'm not really sure what exact shape they need to be, and I don't have a case-back remover to get the crown out of the way.
  13. You can get Cape Cod cloths from any jeweler supplier. I got mine through Amazon. Being a quartz movement, it makes troubleshooting easier. The hand probably just came loose from the post. If it doesn't run and it bothers you, take it to a jeweler, but if it's a faux chrono, I wouldn't bother.
  14. Classic! Thanks for a good laugh!
