  1. Aaaargh ! I just re-read Pugwash review of its speedy (that he sold like 8 months ago, damn I am too late !) and realize that it is definitely the one speedy rep I have to find (at a reasonable price — the 200

  2. Ii think I will go for the Speedmaster lemania and the SMP 7750, I guess. I will see as time goes by. ANd by any ways I am not spending the prices of gen here so hell, why not give the mechanical movement fromchina a try !! thanks for all the infos ;)

  3. I'm new to this and need help on deciding on a watch. It's from Davidsen and I realize he gets mixed reviews and only accepts WU payment. I haven't been able to find a comparable watch anywhere else though. It's a swiss movement watch with upgrades as reflected in this link;

I'm hoping someone has actually purchased the watch from him and can give me feedback, but if any of the experts on the forum (which certainly excludes me) wants to give me any insights on the quality/ accuracy compared to the gen/opinion on price etc. I would really appreciate it. Thanks 550bryan

I contact davidsen a few weeks ago and I guess the price shown on the page has changed from 390$ to 430$ (that's the price he gave me

  4. I wonder what is the glass model in the omega catalogue that would fit into the speedmaster moonwatch case from eurotimez (which looks like the same from nice replica?

I have read that the 1750032, 1750039, 1750040, 1750041, 1750045 case models share the same glass.

So I wonder if you may know the case number from which the replica is made because I would definetely go for a modded speedy with a domed glass ?

  5. I have read a lot about the bad issue some may have with the Asian 7750 movement. It looks like it almost always need servicing after purchase or at least after a few years… So I was wondering what was the point of spending 250$+200$ for a rep, if for the price of 4 or 5 serviced reps you can have a nice gen?

So I wonder if for a newbie like me, as a start, it would not be easier to spend 100$ or so (instead of 250$) to get reps with… quartz movement and identical design? I know, I know this is blasphemy to say this here ! But I have read that the quartz movement doesn't need as much attention as the more traditional movements. So I was just wondering if it was clever to buy 100/150$ rep with cheap or quartz movements…

And also just to be sure… an automatic asian 7750 movement give the sec hand a smooth movement contrary to the quartz movement, right ?

Any some advice would be very welcome?

  6. another question about that watch. What is the glass model in the omega catalogue that would fit into this watch case ?

I have read that the 1750032, 1750039, 1750040, 1750041, 1750045 models have the same glass.

So I wonder if you may know the case number from which the replica is made because I would definetely go for a modded speedy with a domed glass ?

  7. Hello,

I have a nice speedmaster and are almost happy with you. The known problem with the more recent version is that it has a flat sapphire crystal. The doomed crystal is one of the core elements of every speedmaster and its hard to believe that you guys are all comfortable with the flat crystal. I would really really like to exchange the crystal through a doomed one - either plastic or sapphire or mineral glas, doesnt matter. However, I am completely lost on the ofrei homepage. No idea which crystal to order to mimic the shape of the original. Has anynbody done this or has anybody a suggestion how to?

    Let me know

maybe hereor here. But which model ? that's a good question !

  8. Yes the asian is a very good movement 9 times out of 10 and if you get any movement with panerai style bridges it will have a high asian content, go for the asain mate and save some pennys

thanks for the advice :) exactly what I wanted to hear !

  9. If you have no experience in servicing a watch before I would not make this a watch that you experiement on. There are tutorials flying about, but it would not be an easy movement to start on. Best thing would be to approach your local watchsmith and ask him about it, my local one was more than happy to work on mine.

    will try that

  10. They all stock the same watch now, unfortunately you will have to swap the datewheels to make it as good as the first batch (relatively cheap). Don't worry about the movement, historically the 21k 7750 was a real pig of a movement, the newer one is much better. For peace of mind and a very good reliable movement a service is recommended, but it is as good as most movements out there on the rep market at the moment!

Ok, thanks a lot for the prompt answers. I wonder if there were some tutorials available for servicing your watches yourself (I doubt my local watchsmith will be happy with a rep)? Maybe I should open another thread

  11. Hello,

I have read some "scary" stuffs about the Asian 7750 mouvement. It's supposed not to be very reliable.

As I am new to all this watches world I wonder which seasmaster chrono you will pick between :

http://www.pam111.com/product_info.php?cPa...roducts_id=1416 (which as the accurate numbers for the date and W-2334 AUTOMATIC ASIA 7750)

    or

http://www.trustytime88.com/index.php?main...41ecf1395517d4a (which as not the right date numbers but which claims to have New Asia Valjoux 7750 Working Chronograph (28,800bph))
