  1. that is a great looking vintage PAM. congrats. hehehe .... looks like it needs a new gasket seal (hands rusted look). but yes i know, that was the intended look of the piece
  2. nice shots and great looking strap. but i prefer non-crocodile leather on my watches as I think calf leather is more comfortable and supple
  3. Rubber is definitely the most comfortable of all the kind of straps you mentioned. But nothing beats the croc straps in look. You cant go wrong with either rubber of croc.
  4. WOW! that lume looks great! Make sure you post some followup pics assembled!
  5. Great work. Thanks for sharing it
  6. Got my PAM111H in the mail today from Trusty Time Store (http://www.tt88time.com). Boy am I pleased I do not like rubber straps so I changed it up with an Espresso Buffalo with white stitching StrapLuxe strap (). The only really noticeable difference from the gen that I could immediately see was that the 'L SWISS MADE L' text was too close to the 6 o-clock cut-out on the dial. The watch was properly packed and wrapped in some clear saran wrap looking stuff. No scratches on the watch at all which is awesome! I ordered a Big Pilot rep from them before and it had black sharpie pen marks on the case so I was expecting a non-mint watch upon delivery. Here's a shot of the Asian Unitas 6497 Hand Wind movement. The finishing is very impressive considering the watch was only $183 shipped from China! Trusty Time Store advertised the watch as its 'BEST SELLER for the past 2 months' and I can now understand why. Great bang for the buck in my opinion. And so far the movement has kept good time, but only time will tell to see how accurate it will be. I am not a big movement buff so I can't really comment to you on technical stuff about it. But the movement displays very beautifully and superceded all my expectations. I am using the 3rd hole on the strap and have a 6.5" wrist. I was concerned that a 135 x 75mm strap would be too long for my puny wrists. But as you can see from this picture, the tail-end of the strap is not too long. So I am one happy camper! There are 7 total buckle holes on the strap so this strap should fit all wrist sizes. I guess the massive 135 x 75mm dimensions is deceiving because one has to keep into account how thick the strap is. This one is about 5mm. The thicker the strap, the longer the straps will have to be to acheive the same desired tail length. Pretty nice brushed SS buckle with super sharp Strapluxe etching. They advertised their buckles as being thicker than OEM and I have to admit that they are indeed correct. This buckle was a lot larger too than the polished one that came with the PAM111H. I think the bigger the better. Another still shot of my new PAM111H. I like the fact that this watch has buckle screws as it makes changing straps a lot easier than with annoying spring bars. Bottomline: Trusty Time Store sells some HIGH QUALITY REPS and will order more from them. Maybe a Radiomir for me next. Haven't decided on which one yet. Thank you RWG for providing me info on where to get the best reps out there! And I already placed another strap order from Strapluxe as I find their Panerai straps to be extremely comfortable to wear and the quality is superb. I took a risk with them because I haven't seen anyone comment on their PAM straps before and I ordered one, but I got the reward. Hopefully my review is of some use to the RWG community. Happy New Year!
  7. This is my 2nd PAM actually. I was not happy with the 1st PAM I got and just sold it. It just didnt look as good as the better reps out there so decided to get a newer rep model. I pulled the trigger today and also purchased my new aftermarket strap for it too. I'll post pics of it when I get both in the mail.
  8. Rob, Thank you for the link to your writeup. You have swayed me over to the dark side!
  9. I'm thinking of getting the PAM111H Luminor Marina (manual wind) - Asian Unitas 6497 (P111HC01) from tt88time. Anyone here bought one and can give me their thoughts on it? thank you
  10. What's up with the flaky lume and the visible glue stains?
  11. Got this gray/blue calf strap from Strapluxe (www.strapluxe.com). Works with the rep deployant clasp too. Try them out. They got gator BP straps too.
  12. The lettering looks like blue in the gen. pic so don't see what the problem is.
  13. rangers158, The strapluxe strap looks stunning on your BP rep. Awesome pics!
  14. Please also keep in mind that the gen. End of Days does NOT come with a metal bracelet as shown in that picture.... AP only offered it with a nylon velcro strap and hornback strap for it.
  15. Watch looks Tite! Anyone seen the Ferrari California car in person?
  16. I have 2 straps for strapluxe and I am highly satisfied with the gator one. Great mod on the scotbrite on the rivets! I may have to try that out on one of them
  17. I dont think they look too real. Pretty bad fakes in my opinion
  18. 22mm at lugs 18mm at deployant clasp
  19. yeah the stitching pattern is a bit different than oem. but at least u can half 1/2 the $ for a strap almost the same as oem
  20. for BP straps that most closely resemble OEM, I'd go with the Big Pilot straps by StrapLuxe (www.strapluxe.com). They also work with the deployant buckle too. I have 2 of them and have not even 1 complaint about them. Good luck on finding the right strap for you. Definitely post up some pics once you do!
  21. you got any pics to share with us of the peeling rubber off the bezel?
