  1. the good-looking ones with boobies...
  2. Fair enough. I think we're going to have to - hell, I don't particularly like quartz either (and probably wouldn't buy another one), but I like non-working chronos even less (I've got one of those too, and it's my last - I only bought it to find out if I could get comfortable with the flying B, but I really can't bear to wear it).... Edit: Well damn, that argument was over quick. What're we gonna talk about now?
  3. ah, you're one of those are you? That explains everything uh - and very few care. But the few who DO know and care about the difference between Casio and Breitling will immediately think it's fake. Way to go, mate
  4. lol - you'd be quite safe, it's work-related.
  5. Ah - now you're talking - I agree, but 7750's ain't that cheap. We were talking about cheapie watches, in which you have a choice between 21J and quartz.... If you want the watch to work, you'll buy the latter. hmm - funnily enough, the only reason that I bought my AP quartz was simply that I DO occasionally find a chrono useful, but I didn't want to spend a lot of money on it. I don't wear it often, though... That Tag we were arguing err.... talking about - the choice is between cheapie quartz or 21J at well under $100. Or spending $300 on the 7750. Not really the same ballpark. Don't bet on it. It's the only sub $100 option for chronos, like it or not. By the way - those $108 watches you posted above are all available for rather less if you hunt around....
  6. Not on that watch, you won't. There's no second hand - running seconds are on one of those inset wheels. Personally I can spot a constantly-sweeping chrono hand from a mile and a half away...... If you don't want quartz, either buy more expensive watches, or quit buying chronos. End of story.
  7. When we're talking chronos, I disagree vehemently. 21js are completely unsatisfactory for that kinda watch. 'faux' chronos that move with the day of the week are a big tell. They also suck big time.... lol - constantly running chrono hands drive me nuts. That Tag mentioned by Oscar elsewhere has running seconds on an inset wheel - the 'ticking' of a quartz movement will only be apparent if actually running the chronos. Of course, if you go for the 21 J version, you don't have that option Seriously - 21js are great for anything without a chrono, but if you want chronos on the cheap, quartz is the only movement that makes sense. That's not to say that I do not share your distaste for quartz - it's the reason why all but one of my cheapies are non-chrono watches running 21Js. Oh - and yes, it's a 21J in the PAM. I've seen 'em as low as $30. All junk, though, sadly...
  8. Try any of the recommended dealers here. Check the 'Links' in the titlebar on any page of this site, or have a browse through the dealer subforums. Personally, I bought a 111h from Ruby a couple of months ago - a beautiful watch that has become one of my favourites. Do your research on here and stick to the recommended dealers - you'll do fine.
  9. and I know you like me that way, Onze......
  10. Well, that kinda proves my point. Ugh! There's a lot of really gawdawful cheap PAMs around, but nothing I've yet seen that was any good...
  11. LOL - I was wearing mine yesterday evening. That and my PAM111 still get about 50% of total wrist time between 'em...
  12. Thanks, mate.... glad to see I've not lost my reputation just yet.... Actually, I was planning to start a thread like that - 'Best of the cheapies' when we get back 'home'. Not sure that my B&R would qualify, though - it doesn't appear to be generally available at the moment and would probably be mid-price if it was (it's got a 28,800 movement - it's not one of the 21J versions). There are so many good cheap reps around these days, though - the VC, quite a few Breguets, Rollies, APs, Tags - even some of the quartz stuff... I've yet to see a decent cheap PAM, though, which is kinda odd..
  13. Hey, welcome! Lots of useful info here - also worth checking out the links (button at the top of the page).
  14. Have a hunt around - you'll find it cheaper. CQout is probably worth a look. Try Tonyxkf too... Frankly, if I wanted to do this one on a budget, I'd go for the quartz version. 21js really ain't terribly satisfactory for chrono watches imho.
  15. Unfortunately, that's not how it works in my job.... And quit f*cking swearing...! You're lowering the tone...
  16. I don't need your help to look cheap - I'm a notorious skinflint, as Alphakazi will tell you.... Oh, and [censored] off....
  17. Yeah, likewise. I've even gotten to the point where I've been looking at hosting plans... Anyhow - hopefully Blade will get it sorted before too long. In the meantime, I've gotta go to work (yes, on a Sunday - got some server upgrades to do). Later!
  18. Great looking 'tona, olipro! Glad you found us here
  19. I'd say that was a very good buy - I was tempted myself (a Link is on my wants list). If it had been the white face version I would probably have beaten you to it It's one of Tag's most stylish designs, IMHO - enjoy!
  20. Not that I'm aware of... I suspect this is gonna take a while...
  21. TT= Two Tone. He's a moderator here IPB= Invision Power Board. It's the forum software both here and at RWG1 (this place uses a much later version, though).
  22. Likewise - I was a regular visitor before RWG1 went down, and it's well worth supporting. Not if they have any sense.....
