  1. I think I'll do the following: - oem hands - oem clasp (hopefully for better function) - RBJ mods: logo reposition, relume, hand install I actually don't care too much to worry about AR on the crystal - not worth my time in making that happen. Then, I'll be good to go on the PO. Too many half started projects already!!
  2. Thank you. 2209.50 - that's the whole bezel + insert. That'll fit the rep?
  3. Ok, just checking OFREI . . . anyone know the part numbers for the genuine hands . . . oh, and the clasp assembly also? Oh, and the bezel insert pearl and/or insert?
  4. Relume, repositioning of the logo, oem clasp assembly, oem hands and if you're really determiined - blue-tint AR of the crystal at your local optometric lab and you'll have a near perfect rep for about 1/4 the price.
  5. My friend (the lucky bastard) just picked up a genuine black PO on TZ. So, I'm buying his Paul PO that he just got in the mail over the weekend. I asked him to take some comparison shots. He did a great job. Here are the pics. If you've been following the string of PO threads, you should be able to pick out which is which.
  6. HERE ya go Eddy!!
  7. I had the crown guard of my Lemania/Venus 212 engraved with "REG. T.M." today. Here are pics:
  8. I've been browsing for a donor Valjoux 72 watch for my 6263 kit. But, I'm finding that some of these watches are so darn nice on their own, that I almost feel bad for wanting to buy it to take it apart for the movement. Like this Longines below - gorgeous! Anyone else feel the same? Or, this Wakmann:
  9. I missed this gorgeous thing for $1500!!
  10. I did the same exact thing to MY WM1665!! While Joe was sick, I arranged to have it serviced. PM me for details.
  11. Put my office AC on full blast for about an hour, left the back open, got a coffee, and presto - no more humid watch case. Case back is on and no more condensation. Whew! Glad I got that cleared up, lol.
  12. Here are pics of the case back removed, then right after flipping the watch over. Check out the condensation forming on the inside surface of front crystal - this is already after removing the caseback!!! Wow.
  13. Well, it was bothering me, so I just now took a ball of packaging tape and managed to remove the caseback.
  14. I just received my 212 from Richard. Looks great, and it is exactly as described - thanks Richard. The only problem is that I think it has some humid air trapped inside the watch case. At normal room temperature, the crystal fogs up. When I place the watch next to a warm cup of coffee, the condensation evaporates and the crystal looks clear. I've had the watch sitting next to the warm cup with the crown pulled out, but I'm thinking that might not be enough to allow the humid air to escape. So, I'll probably remove the case back when I get home and "air it out" for an evening. That should do it, right? So, in the meantime, here's a quick pic of my slightly heated unfogged 212. Nice dial, eh? And, check out those polished pushers!! Now, I just need the engraved crown guard . . . oh, and a europelli baseball strap. Other observations: the crown and lever move nicely between the open/closed positions. the movement has a nice smooth winding feel, the chrono pushers have a slightly light but positive feel when engaged, all hands snap nicely back to the zero position. Overall, very nice.
  15. Who has the best 1655? Now, that should be the question of the day . . .
  16. Have you seen/felt the difference between an 'ultimate' and MBW? I have. I'd still buy the MBW. Call me an "MBW Fan." Modded MBW or genuine?
  17. I'm certain that most, if not all, people that I encounter day to day will not appreciate the differences that we obsess about on these boards. But, I wear watches that I like . . . not ones that I think others will like or appreciate. What's the point of having something that is indistinguishable from the original in a replica if no one knows what an original looks like? Then, why wear an original when no one can appreciate whether it's real or not? For me, the answer is the same for both questions: because I can, because I want to, because I appreciate the difference.
  18. I like it.
  19. Because, you are "insane" . . . (nice collection of pams . . .)
  20. You are crazy . . .
  21. That's just a very handsome watch, period.
  22. The entire back of the hand, or just the stem part that goes in the little hole? (Actually, now that I think about it, I haven't taken a close look at the subdial hands on my kit - those have stems don't they?)
  23. Nice work. Yeah, it's great to have Joe back in biz. Are these thicker crowns widely available now?
  24. I love it . . . A LOT . . . and, I would be all over it if I hadn't just now purchased Tracy's 212 . . .
