  1. I'm with you Eddy. I saw that strap too, but it was just too small.
  2. Thank you. You've made my day. Superdome on the way . . . (yahooo!!)
  3. Aaaaaaaaaaah
  4. Now I'm looking for two movements - v72 and 2846! The thrill (and expense) of the hunt!
  5. Thanks Randy. That IS a very good idea. Will the 2846 take an oem datewheel? The proper datewheel on the 1665 should be silver background, right?
  6. I just PM'd Tommy (daytonat) at TRC, but if anyone has his email, I would really appreciate it. Thanks. -G
  7. Well, live and learn . . . I was trying to replace the crystal on my WM 1665 and found that the retaining ring had been glued down. So, I went about trying to remove the movement/dial assembly so I could press the crystal out. I pressed too far on the crown stem removal button, removed the stem, but now the stem doesn't do anything when I re-insert it. The stem doesn't engage anything when I reinsert and the button appears to have dropped into its hole into the abyss. Crap. There's nothing more for *me* to do at this point, right?
  8. Ok, so a v730 movement would work also, but with all the day/date stuff removed?
  9. Will the 72c movements with day/date work for a 6263 project? Can the date related stuff be removed and made to work in a 6263?
  10. About every 30-45 minutes, i get a RWG popup with instructions to "stop" and enter my login ID and password. Is anyone else getting this? I've been hitting the cancel button and I am still able to surf RWG - this leads me to think that it is not a real request for ID/password.
  11. Man, there are tons of empty cases from valjoux 72-based watches - I wonder where all the movements are going???
  12. Yeah, that's where I have my concerns when I get to that point. I think I'm just going to send my kit to a watchmaker. How is the 12-hour hand mounted? Is it just glued in the hole?
  13. Wait a minute . . . wasn't there a version that had a not-so-accurate date window? I must be late to the party noticing the nondate version.
  14. Wow, a nondate version. I like it ALOT:
  15. Congratulations V!! Perhaps this means we'll be seeing a bunch of lower case v's running around, if there aren't some already!
  16. By the way Edge . . . nice [censored].
  17. Less then $400 these days for a V72 will be very tough - especially while at least three other folks on this board alone are looking for the same thing. The Collector alone has three of these projects going - geeez. However, a V23 is very possible to acquire at that price range.
  18. Halley, if you ever decide to go DR, let me know - I'd be happy to swap dials with you. I want to go white letter on mine. The grass is always seemingly greener . . .
  19. Good job on the date window. That was the FIRST thing I noticed as I was scrolling through the pictures BEFORE I even got to your explanation of having corrected it. Good work man. I haven't gone that far into a tear down . . . yet. I've only done the bezel and crystal. The crown on mine was already done when I got it.
  20. Well, on goes my search for a v72 movement for my 6263 project. I've found several watches with v71 that look very similar to the v72. What is a v71 movement? And, will it fit in a DW v72 6263 kit?
  21. I was trying to find a Dirk website to look at his straps and found dirkstraps.com. I was shocked to find that it led to tcstraps.com. I quick check at WHOIS. Wow. I thought it was already over the top. 22. You're registration has not published yet in the Gazette, so a search in the public access portion of the uspto site would not uncover your registration anyway. But, the heads up is helpful. According to the USPTO website, "[a]ny person who believes that he or she would be damaged by the registration of a mark on the Principal Register may oppose registration by filing a notice of opposition with the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board, and paying the required fee within thirty days after the date of publication or within an extension period granted by the Board for filing an opposition." More motivated persons on this board might want to alert Dirk, in case he cares to file an opposition.
  23. Handsome watch. But, "slytech"? It's so darn cheesy. I wouldn't mind a "flawed" one without the slytech word on the dial.
  24. Just got an email from Ken. They are temporarily out of stock, but are making more.
