It is loose. I must be missing something.
-
Right, only the insert, not the bezel ring itself. Maybe my retainer is not correct, or something. I've tried flipping the retainer, bending the retainer, not installing the retainer - none of these things work. It seems to me that the only thing that was holding it on before was the fit between the insert and crystal.

I'm having issues with my recently acquired WM 1680. The watch is fantastic, but suffers from a very loose bezel. Actually, when I first received the watch, the bezel was too tight - would not turn at all. So, I popped it off with a credit card and tried to re-install it. Then, during the re-install, the bezel insert fell off. So, I removed all of the old glue and tried to check the fit of the bezel insert, and then noticed that the insert would not seat properly in the bezel. So then, I took a little material off the outer diameter so that it fit perfectly. Then, everytime I tried to reinstall the bezel, the fit between the inner diameter of the insert and the crystal was so tight that the insert would pop off. So then, I took a little material off the inner diameter of the insert so that there was some resistance, but not enough to push the bezel off during insertion. Now, I cannot get ANY kind of tension on the bezel and the case. If I turn the watch upside down, the bezel begins to fall of the case. I have all of the parts, according to the threads I've read. I've triend flipping the retainer ring upside down. I've tried giving it a little bend - nothing. What is supposed to hold the bezel down - simple press fit or tension? If it is the press fit that holds everything in place, then is it possible that I took too much off the inner diameter off the insert?? Maybe I have a bad insert? Or retainer ring? Thanks in advance for your help.

This latest dw v72 kit includes: dial, hands, case and band, and bezel - choice of dial and choice of bezel. All for a very reasonable price, considering similar kits are going for around $500 on The Bay. I picked the classic black dial and black bezel. As soon as joe get's better, i'm having him fix my EE 6263 with the misaligned subdial hand so I can sell it. So, if anyone is interested in an EE 6263 with genuine Tropic 21 . . .

Wow, I didn't know there was an old V72 case offered by DW. I thought that was a new development. Well, I'm taking the plunge and committed to purchasing one of these DW V72 case kits from The Dark Side.

Here's some better pics with the plastic covering removed from the caseback:

OMG, my EL Arktos from Cabbage arrived today. Wow. What a watch. Words and pics cannot due this thing justice. This thing looks and feels fantastic. The details are phenomenal, especially the engravings on the caseback. There is a very thin clear piece of protective film on the back, so the pic below doesn't clearly show how really crisp the engravings are. The crown guard lever has the usual rep floppiness when opened - I hope to find a fix for that, perhaps a replacement assembly. A larger pivot pin with a little more press fit would probably work. The date magnification is a bit low, though for practical day to day use, is not objectionable - it is easy to read. I look forward to a fix for this. In short, I highly recommend this watch, and also Cabbage - great guy and responsive seller. He also had the watch set to the right time for my time zone, so no setting was necessary. Now just waiting for my BOB cobalt blue shark strap for deployment. Yahooo!

Probably not . . . maybe to hit the $1 billion mark for lifetime earnings.

I would really love to see this offered from one of our dealers:

I don't like it. Not at all. So, throw it away . . . or better, give it to me. Nice BOB. Speaking of BOB, I ordered a BOB cobalt blue shark today. Yeah, yeah. I also saved a bunch of money on my car insurance.

Oh my . . . Raikkonen is like Mika Häkkinen's mini-me. I don't see him playing second fiddle to someone like Shuey. But then, I'm no expert. That's just my impression of the guy on the few race-day and post interviews that I've seen.

Sorry, I didn't mean to be short in my reponse earlier . . . my reasons: 1) chunky CG's; 2) smallish case pin holes; 3) plastic wrapping on the bracelet; 4) closed-style "6" date wheel (presumably "9" is closed also) - should be open; 5) too low cyclops magnification; I'm sure I missed other items. But, really, who could tell 2-3 feet away while its on your wrist? If you own this, wear it and enjoy it. Beat it up too, because it looks way too new.

I think it's Chinese, or asian at least.

Are these thick 5mm strap usable with a deployment clasp?

Collector, I modded my response above. It should help.

The organizer of our F1 fantasy league at work has explained that CBS will show four races total this year (San Marino, Spain, Monaco and England). Sounds like everyone had the wrong times/channels programmed in their video recorders. Oh the brightside, I actually did ok this week, correctly picking the top three (out of eight) - that's good for me anyway, since it's all basically guesswork this year. I am happy that it is all a lot less predictable than in previous years.

I'm in for one. Thank you.

Generally, I'm so F1 deprived that a still picture of the 248 for me. See what I mean?

I really miss my 6263. It's currently with Joe.
