  1. My macro skills leave a lot to be desired (especially at 7am )... Please bear in mind that the 'T Swiss T' is no more than 4mm across, so The Zigmeister's handywork is pretty impressive. Magnifying it 20x on screen will always highlight any minor flaws, but at the same time, highlight just how incredible his work is!
  2. Thanks - the 201a has a really nice Heroic 18 strap (their anniversary offer - this, the Pre-A strap and two buckles for $100!). I had tried a 1st gen Dirk, but really wasn't that impressed with the quality (I found a Wojtecki much nicer for some reason!). Thanks for the comments everybody, will get the macro shots for Drulee later.
  3. Still trying to get my photography skills up to scratch - here's a work in progress!... Thanks to FGD for making some of these happen - here are the specs and modifications that have been carried out: Pre-A 009: Jimmyzfu 1:1 case with amazing grey / purple Rolli PVD T48 PVD crown Modded CG with Rolli PVD OEM spec Sapphire crystal with stripped AR OP6502 caseback Swiss 6497 + H3 canon pinion Latest generation FGD dial Pre-V 5218-202A: Unknown stumpy-lug case with The Zigmeister PVD T48 crown 'V' CG modified by The Zigmeister (with correct stainless steel pin) Genuine pre-V screws (no PVD as per original specs), lugs drilled by The Zigmeister Non-matching tritium style hands by The Zigmeister Sapphire crystal Swiss 6497 + H3 canon pinion Latest generation FGD dial Metta strap with FGD Pre-V engraved PVD sew-in buckle Pre-V 5218-201A: Homer stumpy-lug case T48 crown Little Hero CG Reproduction pre-V screws, drilled lugs Non matching tritium style hands Sapphire crystal Asian 6497 + H3 canon pinion Latest generation FGD dial PAM0036 Old school Ti case / dial (from 2006) The Zigmeister tritium relume (dial and hands) T48 Ti crown 'L Swiss L' converted to 'T Swiss T' by The Zigmeister Swiss 6497 + H3 canon pinion Genuine flame blued movement screws replaced the horrible chemically blued ones! Bevelled 6497 winding gears New flattened CG pin I think that's all. It's been some time in the making, and thanks again to FGD and of course The Zigmeister / Tourby for their help.
  4. I wasn't around when this dial was manufactured
  5. These blued hands are amazing! The brass ones haven't yet found a dial, but I must say that both sets are perfect. The great finishing touch for a rather special project These are a sample sent for review - but just wanted to share how great they are.
  6. Don't forget the all important intermediate winding wheel - whilst thinking about this project on the weekend, I noticed this wheel is completely custom to the non-alarm Angelus and would also need to be replicated for an accurate non-alarm (the alarm wheel is too big, and no other gears on an Angelus are the same dimensions )
  7. Will be watching this one with great interest
  8. Complete balances with hairspring are readily available in the UK, Zigmeister, just incase you ever need any!
  9. Amazing pickup. You mention it's not a fantasy piece - I'm not questioning that, but would you happen to have a photo of an original Angelus destro? Very curious now! The flat hands work well with the dial, and if I ever find a strap 1/2 as good as that, I'll be happy
  10. Great looking watch, glad you like the dial! VH - not sure if this back plate was mine or not, but you've either got the option of using acrylics (no lume), acrylics (with white luminova powder) or something like a white Bergeon lume (for Rolex) / another white glow powder (like GlowTec). You can then add colour to your taste - sometimes a very light wipe with coffee / sugar does the trick!
  11. CousinsUK description: (Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I think these are the correct ones!) Unitas 6497 250 Hour Wheel Height 2.15 - UT6497250H215 Unitas 6497 240 Cannon Pinion Height 3.15 - UT6497240H315 The Angelus canon pinion is about 5.3mm; you won't find a Unitas one this length, unless you have a watchmaker extend the pinion manually. Hope this helps!
  12. I'm happy to draw up the final specs - just give me a shout with what you need
  13. Radiomir 47mm's are usually smaller movement rings; mine are 37.2mm compared to 39.5mm for a Fiddy.
  14. IE8 at home crashes, or displays after 10 minutes and then crashes. IE7 at work functions perfectly. Saying that, the problem *may* be linked to the messenger - I can't view RepGeek in IE8 if I've received a private message (something to do with the popup menu), so I have to navigate directly to my inbox in the address bar. Not sure if it's the same board that's powering RWG, but I think my solution will also be to move to Firefox
  15. I'll check the dimension differences - I think the Cortebert tooling / Molnija thing is just a myth - whilst the 1950's Molnija does share some remarkable similarities, the thickness, main bridge diameter, gear pinion thickness etc. are all different - I suspect they've taken the design and made their own version of the movement that shares some dimensions / visual similarities. From what I remember, the 1950's Molnija is very different to newer models, so we'll have to check the dimensions of a few movements before proceeding with this one! If anybody has any feedback on the existing drawings (mine and Merlin's), then we can make the necessary changes. It'll also be useful if you all measure the internal case diameters of your watches - there might be 3 or 4 standard sizes that can be used for this project.
  16. Just checked another 2 (616 and 620), both of which are 110 and 185 (actually, 109 and 183 for the canon pinion / hour wheel and 112 / 187 for the hands!). Anybody else?
  17. I've got most of it finished, just need to get some answers on final details (confirmation of length). It's pointless running the project if we get the details wrong I'll finish the drawings on Monday and get them over to you.
  18. Also, if anybody has a cali dial / set of cali hands, it
  19. Still working on this one. There are two types of blued hands; the shorter, fatter minute hand for the California dial and the longer, thinner minute hand for the Radiomir dial - both hour hands are slightly different, but the dimensions are very close (+/- 0.3mm). Image attached: So, question: Is the shorter or longer hand more desirable (or are both possible?), and does anybody have accurate measurements? My estimation is that the Radiomir cali hands are 14.5mm and 18.0mm (13.0 and 17.0mm centre to tip), and the cali hands are 14.3mm and 17.5mm (13.0 and 16.5mm centre to tip). Could anybody check this? All other dimensions (angles, thickness, tube height / diameter etc. are taken care of).
  20. I've just checked two Cortebert 616's, and both have hands that measure 110 and 185 (actually, they are more like 112 and 187, but the size variance will be from installing / removing the hands!). Can anybody confirm?
