  1. GPF 2/56 wrist shot (60mm ex. CG) RWC 1954 Egiziano wrist shot (52mm ex. CG - same as DSN's) - Wrong size, but it's more wearable!! And... DSN's bezel: Compared to the RWC bezel: Based on the size and bezel similarities, has he repped the RWC and put a CG on it? The case inaccuracies are the same on both - makes you wonder. Ho hum - I'd say the smaller one (whilst not as historically accurate) would be more wearable and get more sales anyway. Well done DSN - now, how about that PAM341??!
  2. Who needs a DSN dial anyway? The lug shape / CG aren't perfect, but there's enough material to 'play' with. Verdict is still out on the bezel - although I'd like to see some user photos of it before decididing! DSN: Gen:
  3. The photos don't seem to do it justice, but I'm wondering what people's first thoughts are on the long awaited GPF 2/56?! I think it is a good base to modify into a reasonable looking watch - not sure on the second hand or bezel shape (bezel looks very tall) - but it's certainly a start!
  4. Fear not, they're on their way. Only a couple of weeks now
  5. Amazing collection, great job putting it together and thanks to FGD for bringing us these parts! I've got a couple being built as we speak - the dials are amazing
  6. I think the problem is now solved. For anybody else that has the problem, the canon pinion appeared to be installed correctly, but seemed to be the centre of the problem, so after removing it and reinstalling (great tutorials on RWG!), the time now sets correctly and the watch runs. Keep your eyes peeled for fully assembled watch photos soon
  7. Please tell me the photos are the left-over lost property from the evening's events! I call dibs on the cali dial and Mare
  8. I've recently received my non-alarm Angelus 240 back from full cleaning and servicing. It looks great, but the problem is, it no longer works! Before I try to send it off again, I just wondered if it is an easy fix... The stem winds the watch as expected, but when I pull the stem out to set the time, it seems to put extra pressure on the central wheel, causing the balance to go into overdrive (I've been careful not to put any force on it, but I'm sure it makes the BPH speed up) - the minute wheel moves and seems to jam, the hour wheel / canon pinion stay still. At first, I thought it could be that the keyless works were assembled incorrectly - but this doesn't seem to be the case. Then, I thought that the minute wheel had been replaced with one from an alarm movement, but changing it hasn't made any difference. The only thing I can think now is that the stem is for some reason incorrect (although it was tested as working before sending it for a service). Is there anything I've missed? I'd really rather not send this back, as it's a risk I'd rather not take (international postage is unreliable at best!), and I'm sure there must be a reasonably straight-forward solution to this problem. Many thanks!
  9. In which case, the last image shows the actual plates on my existing movements! Some of the others are key-wound for spares / one is sold, but they're all my own movements...
  10. A few alarm / non-alarm / stem and key winds past and present...
  11. W - happy to help, and if you email me with whatever you're after that may be of interest, I'll get some files over to you. Tourby's vintage PAM movement photobucket makes for good viewing if it's movement shots you're after. I can also include details of different engraving types (manufacturers / CDG decoration) if you're interested in it for a reason other than what I already know about.
  12. Amazing case - must have consumed a lot of time / money. Great project from the Erfurt two as always - and nice to see the dial in a good home

    i am back

T, Sad news, and hope things look up in the future. I've got a T48 and an OEM crown in my watchbox, and the only way I tell them apart is the tube diameter - there is no need to change, you've got the perfect version already! As for other projects - the hands seem to have gained a lot of interest, and other projects would be deemed to 'risky' for you to pursue. A 1:1 CG, 1:1 Pre-V case would all be amazing projects - but I understand your reluctance to pursue any of these. For the time being, welcome back and hope you get everything back on track.
  14. The 6154 isn't exactly easy to come by. I think they made a total of 30 for the Egyptian Navy - I'd imagine anyone who has one and decides to sell it could simply name their price; it's not the sort of watch that you see coming up for sale too often!
  15. Jimmy used to make them - maybe post a WTB?
  16. Vintage Panerai's were a 6152/1 (47mm with crown guard), 6152 (47mm), 6154 (47mm without CG, Radiomir Panerai dial), 3646 (47mm - plain dial, cali dial, Radiomir Panerai dial) and GPF 2/56 (60mm monster!). There are other variants, but these are the main groups. The dials are all 38 or 39mm, and depending on the dial, fit an Angelus Cal 240, Cortebert cal 616 or Unitas 6497 (both of which have the same subdial spacing). As for selling them, drop me a PM and we'll see what you need!
  17. Boo! No contemporaries here Just good 'ol vintage brass dials with a bit of watchmakers wax to pick out the engraving.
  18. Just a quick teaser. These dials are a b****rd to paint, but when accompanied with the right movements, I'm sure they'll look just fine
  19. I found these whilst trawling the 'net. The last one is fairly well documented - but I'd never seen the other two, and love the rotated dial in the Rolex 3646! Just a little teaser, but you may see one of these again in the near future - keep your eyes peeled!
  20. Amazing watch - you joke about Sig Bonati reading this, but he really should - rather than churning out some of the nasty modern PAM's that were shown at SIHH, the should at least consider something like this - the stealth look goes back to the good 'ol Rambo 202A days!
  21. Have a good one, and all the best!
  22. Looking good, love the blue hands! Amazing strap as well - it finishes it off perfectly. You're work amazes me - I've nearly completed a similar project, all I have left to do is make a second hand and it's ready to show off!
  23. I've got to be honest, W - I'm not sure about the aged look. Let me swap you a nice new strap and brand new dial (none of that aged stuff) - I'll even be good enough to take that Pre-A off of your hands. Seriously though, I don't know where you get some of these parts for your projects, but it really does pay off. I've got a Pre-A 009 project on the way and if it looks even half as good as this, I'll be over the moon! Looking great, and it's good to see different parts of the community coming together to make this possible (what with FGD's dial and Rob's amazing handy work!).
