Look at Puretime's version
Correct VC logo and date window, along with correct placement of the markers!
But then they ****ed up the rehaut markings and the "Vacheron Constantin" font on the dial.

Dude, this version is much better looking - but that crooked cross is too funny.....
-
Absolutely.
Imleg, if on the other hand you (like me) need the date window in your watch I would also suggest you consider a 104 or a 050.
The 050 is probably the most accurate rep around. It does not even suffer of poor date magnification or thin crown. Just, many people do not take it into account because it is 40 mm.
That 165 is also unconsistent in its polished finishing.
Hey, I am considering a SS 050. What do you think of Andrew's. Are they all pretty much the same?
-
I love it too. Check out the other discussion in the Pictures forum. Everyone seems to agree - it is nice except for the Logo. that needs work. Too far off.
-
Is there anyone on the forum who can help me get a new buckle - mine busted. It would be easiest if I could just get a new (rep) one. 44MM Submersible Regatta. Thanks for any advice....
-
I'm going to pop the logo off the silix version and stick it on here if The Zigmeister's gonna do it for me. I just ordered it, and it will go off to him for a relume and servicing. I already have a silix one anyways.
I don't know about you - but I looked at all of VC's on Silix and none of the logos seem correct given the earlier pictures of the real thing. Which one were you looking at?
-
They all came from DW. The PN (on the left) and standard black dial (center) are 1st generation DW's... The silver dial (right) is a 2nd generation...
How does one get to DW?
-
Yes middle hour subdial on DW does not work. Some people have trouble with it dying and buy extra movements (rbj bought an extra, etc)
The lemania copy ones are more reliable and durable and less expensive... but also less accurate.
Ok - this e a foolish question - what does DW stand for? I know it is a vintage model - but do not know the shorthand.
-
Mmmmmmmmm.... DW....
I wuvs my Cosmographs
Ubiquitous - that one on the right is a beaut. Where did you get that one?
-
So that means the new movements, 2005 models, are reliable now - but the watch is thicker than it should be. Has anyone posted a review of one of the latest models and who they got it from?
-
Hey - was loooking at this one - any thoughts? Does this movement solve any of the problems? The cost is certainly high enough.....

Thanks!

DW actually offers the VJ72 copy or I guess it is the VJ23. I had to ask to have this movt installed because I wanted full functionality and still have manual wind. I have compared to genuines and the subdial spacing is almost dead on. I can't even notice a difference with the naked eye. I have been running the chronos for quite a few hours now and everything is smooth as can be. I love this watch and think it is a better rep than any of the vj23 reps. The only complaint I have is the cheap bracelet. I am looking to put a leather strap on the watch. I think it would take a 19mm strap, right? Where could I find a rolex buckle? And what size would I need? Lastly, anyone know where I can find a smooth black calf strap to fit this watch? I have search everywhere and can only find it with croc print, which I am not a fan of. Thanks
Does David Wong have a site. Would love to check out the Daytonas....

i quote myself in the last message i did but the topic seems dead:
Hi i have 5 Daytonas, one swiss 7750 half gold half steel and works perfect.....other 4 with the crap asian 7750 in two months 2 of them stopped recharching i have to wind them manually if i want read hours for two days, the other 2 are 1 months old so i can't say nothing, but the other experience make me think bad about this movement. Ah the other 4 are one full gold, one steel with black face and the other twos are daytona beach one green and the other blue....great watches really to be seen, but the 7750 asian-.....bleah i was tempted in buying a 196 daylight same movemente but i prefer buy a tantalium with ETA...hope they someday will fix that crap movement....bye to all
Hey, thanks for the rundown. Seems like the modified movement is really not worth it. I have seen on silix a couple of "reps" of the "vintage" where the sec at 9 are the norm. The problem, of course, which is well documented on the board - is that the location of the subdials is off. For that matter, the location of the subdials on the new 2005 reps seem to be off too. So it looks like the Daytonas are not really worth the trouble right now. Seems lilke a big oversite - since such a big opportunity.
-
That's what I suspected. Thanks.
Hey - help the newbie - is that gen or rep or DIY?
-
Folks,
I have been reading everything that i can on the board regarding the Daytonas. I have also looked at PT, Trusty, perfect clones, etc. Does anyone know who has the best - any advice? The 2005 model from Homers, Precious', anc P-C's all look to be the same. Thoughts?
-
I just got my Navitimer from Josh last week. Great rep. Movement is just like the gen. I got one with the blue dial and sticks.
Minor flaws: Date wheel is set too deep and has wrong font. The lume isn't that great.
The nice thing about Breitling's are that they are not extemely well known. And, those who know about Breitling probably have never seen a gen. And the complexity of the slide rule on the Navitimer is visually distracting and causes one to not notice the date window and wheel.
How does one order from Josh? Trying to get all the sites down. The thread also gives me the Navi bug!

I have had a few replicas in the past and all have felt cheap. the replicas i have owned befor have only bin up to £50 so i did not expect much. if i were to purchase a PO from Andy on here what dose the watch feel like in the hand. does it have a good feel to it or can you tell its a rep straght away from the feel ??
also i have been looking on perfect clones.com at a IWC gst ti, $289 is this a good rep?? if not any recomendations for a good dealer on here? thanks.
Hey - what is the actual url for perfect clones.com? Sorry to sound dense.
-
How about Breitling SuperOcean? The heaviest diver watch available (even heavier than 45mm PO).
I am so ready for the the SuperOcean. Someone make this one!
-
Just noticed one of your lug screws in coming undone!! Damn thse reps - they dont fix the lugs very well. I have just bought the 7750 PAM 24 so I hope they are better fixed.
Woah, thanks. I am going to tighten that right now.
-
-
Well, it was to be expected. My PAM Submersible had one of the metal 5 minute markers pop out of the bezel. Lost it - don't know where. Does anyone know off someone on the board who will fix that kind of thing? Is is possible. Or does the whole bezel have to be changed?
-
Welcome csKent69
You've come to the right place to learn about reps. Just curious but How much did you pay for your pam?
There are some tag's and Breitling's around, but can't remember which dealer has what???
I paid $360 on ebay. Looks good and feels good. Now I know I could have paid alot less.
-
Wow, what a message board. I also just overpaid for a new Panerai Submersible Regatta. But - at least the quality was decent. Looking forward to sharing my stories as well.
One question - does anyone know if quality Tag Monaco's or the Breitling Chrono SuperOcean's are in the rep market?
