I second both of the recommendations. Get the black PO (42MM)as it is less risky than the orange. Also - the Chrono Professional is an incredible rep. Just be sure to try and get the right datewheel. Some have come with the wrong font. Ask Andrew about which he has.

Mark - please don'f forget me! Definately in for 1!

By-Tor - this is a great post.
I have often thought about getting a replica for my wife - she also does not understand why i spend so much time and money on these things - she takes literally no interest in my stuff and does not even know what I have. So i took her to a large watch shop and we went browsing - and lo and behold - she likes that Panerai's.
So there we are trying on various PAM's and realizing that they are all to large for her wrist (all they had were the large models). I am chuckling under my breadth because the first rep that I ever bought was a PAM 050 - which I now consider too small.
We get home and I spring the watch on her.... now - it is no longer mine. I sent it to The Zigmeister to get it tuned up (she will not deal with the stuff I will deal with regarding movements) and its on her wrist about 25% of the time.
:-)
I will see if she likes the Tag's. Thanks!

Damn, thats brutal. What torture.

Mark - thanks a bunch! Let me know when the 2893 rings are ready

Another question is - where can you get the ETA datewheels for a 7750?
-
-
Mark, where did you find the 7750 datewheel?

Also, unless Davidsen has new crystals - the upgraded ones he is selling still have the wrong cyclops size. You have to get one of the upgraded ones from the recent board project.

So it sounds as if panerai made both markings then. L Swiss Made L under the GMT 12 and on both sides of the GMT 12. Pretty strange.
-
Folks,
I am a little confused - so experts please weigh in. The recent Panerai GMT's, labeled 88 and 89 have the same markings as swdivad's or "L SWISS MADE L" under the 12 in the six position. I thought that this was an error and only on the replicas as the genuines have instead "L SWISS 12 MADE L".
Of course - i went to check E-bay and I find this:
http://cgi.ebay.com/Panerai-PAM-88-GMT-44-...1QQcmdZViewItem
Which looks the same. Is the e-bay auction selling a fake? or are both of these markings somehow correct?

Sandpaper (for metal), tape (cover sentitive areas), elbow grease, and Cods for cleanup. That's it.
-
This is too funny. I could not stop laughing for 30- minutes.....
-
Tribal. Very nice - you got guts. Can you put up a link to the place you bought the datewheel? Where on the bay?
-
Fantastic Stuff. Will be sending my whiteletter to you when you free up!
-
Dude,
Just clicked on your collections - crazy. What is your gen to rep count?
-
Saweeet! Your's looks great!
I have an MBW 1665 on order...can't wait. Now I just have to get one of those tropics for sure. Where did you get the OEM bezel, crown and tube from if I may ask?
Thanks
Second that question...where did you get the insert?
-
While you are at it - you might want to change the movement to the slower one. I think that ubi does that. Can't remember...
-
As always - make many!
-
Count me in as well.
-
I am not sure about everyone else - but I would recommend making real sized ones - that way - when they inevitable make the right size case, you will have the right part to put in. It is always better to make a gen-replacement part
-
If you can really make this - please make many!

Hey - trying to find a rep Sea Dweller (1665) bracelet with diver extension and locking clasp - but with hollow midlinks. Searched around - and can see from the forum that other are able to source - but can not figure out where/who to get them from.
Can anyone provide any advice? Could not find on the bay.
