Just picked this up for 40 bucks. I hope it is a 700 as I have a tube for it and it would look great on a 5513.
-
While surfing for some parts I ran across what I think is a great deal. It is a complete bezel w/ insert for a 16610. The seller is asking only 200 bucks for the package and rates it at 90% condition.

No seriously - I'm not teasing you guys. I've just been away from watches for a long time, and I've gotten a bit confused about what I've got here.
Besides, aren't you the one I priced the gilt 5512 to cheap, before I figured out what it was?
LOLLLLLLL
Bill
You did price the gilt 5513 and I hope that was not a "cheap" price as honestly you were about 58% higher than another 5513 that I am planning on getting. You are free to do as you please and I wish you luck on all your sales........... and also am a little jealous of your stash.

I'm seein a pattern here
LOL

I would guess somewhere around 60-70 bucks each, . I am interested in the 5512 case!

Thanks for the explanation. Was not self explanitory lol.

It may be a stupid question but what the he'll is WIS?

Got the watch today. It is amazing in person. Ronin can go more into the gmt movement but I think he is out of town at the moment on business.

I can't wait get it and once again cannot thank Ronin enough for coming up with the movement that made the project possible.

Great looking 1675 libby, I do agree.on the jubilees do really set them off!

Sorry I meant 2 million

My journey has finally come to an end! My 1675 is complete and is being sent back to me today. I thought I would post one final thread describing what was used and include pictures. I would like to thank all the members who have offered advice along the way. Without their help and all the great posts on the 1675 projects it would have been more difficult to have completed the watch. I would especially like to thank Ronin for taking what I had ammassed and making it work. If he had not stepped in when he did and offered his assistance, I can honestly say that I may have abonded the project. He was a dream to work with and imho one of the best around.
First off the build list:
Gen Case serial number 2 mill
Original crown, tube, crystal, & back to gen case
WMO Bezel
Gen faded red backed Pepsi Insert
Gen 62510H bracelet
Movement built by Ronin
Hands supplied and aged by Ronin

I think there is another one one rwi. Don't think it is in eu though. Good luck with your search. The ssd is a great piece. I have a gen insert crown tube and bk dw overlay. I am installing on mine along with transplanting some maxi markers to make the dial correct. Gonna have it superlumed and it will be sweet.

Here is the watch being sold. It was purchased.from pt. Hands down the best sad and it has an eta 2836-2. I have one all ready that I am modding.

You need to click on link twice to open the watch and not the main page.
Meant ssd not sad.

Thom,
If you are indeed looking for a super sea dweller and not the newer deep sea it has been discontinued. The best place to find one is in the member sales. They are great reps and I was looking for almost a year till I found one to replace the one I had sold. There is one for sale in RG that is a great deal on an awesome watch.

Good luck on the search.

lol on the censor. I did not know that is how the markers were attached and for some reason I had a notion that they were just painted on. Now I need to find a cheap watch or dial that has the maxi markers to transplant.
Thanks
-
Pardon my ignorance, but what do you mean transplant them?

I have a stock SSD V2 that I am looking to replace the dial on. I like the dial it has now but I am looking for a maxi one. All the replacment dials I find that are maxi are for 16660. I would love to change to a tritium 16660 but the xtal has the crown and what I have found out is that you cannot replace the xtal on these watches. I currently have a gen lumi insert, 703 crown, and bk dw overlay. I just thought I would check here about a maxi dial before I give up and stick with the one I have.

The Zigmeister did an amazing job on the dial can't even tell it is the same one. I was going to use the 75b but supplier sent the wrong movement and I had to get a refund. I to wanted to use gen date wheel and gmt hand but in the end had to give up on that. Here are some pics for my build.
Good luck with your build. It is worth it.

This has got to be one of the toughest builds out there. I should have mine done soon.

Pbdad also does lume!

As requested I will shown which crowns go with each tube. I am sure there are models that each crown will work for that I left out but for now I am only using 5512/3 and 1665 as examples of use. Hopes this answers any questions and as always please correct me if anything is incorrect.
24-700
This crown as you will see in the photos has no triplock "dots". This crown to my knowledge is for any of the earlier subs. 5512/5513
24-702
This crown is the first version of the triplock that we all know being used on current subs. This crown is essentially not as wide and does not have as large a space between the crown and the "dots" on the face of the crown. This would be used on a 1665 and also later 5512/5513.
24-703
Lastly, this crown is what we all see on the reps. It is the on the 16610 subs and can also be seen on vintage rollies as it is used as a service replacment. So while the 24-702 is actually correct for an earlier build this one could also be used. You will notice the larger spacing below the crown on the face verses the 702 pictured above.

A little while ago I had asked a question about vintage tube and crown combinations. I appreciate all the help I got and have now aquired what I was looking for. Since I have all three tubes I mentioned I thought I would post a few side by side comparison photos.

Based on a good amount of replies on the dials being replica I have decided to contact the buyer and pass on the purchase. He was gracious enough to refund my payment.

Praetor, thanks for the link. I just checked the seller and picked up what I think is a 24-700 crown for only 40 bucks.
