  1. Yeah me too Jeff, I was wearing mine with the Oceran Racer on when put my last post up. They're such a simplle, beautifully clean "un-busy" design. (sorry 'bout the crap picture........it was taken in a hurry under a desk lamp) Luuurve it !! JT
  2. Good stuff Astro, hope you get a good one. I'd be inclined to go with Chris at Eurotimez. His communication and QC are really good. Email him......he always gets back to you. cheers Jim
  3. You're right Astrograph. no I don't have 2 SOH's, the first one with the mesh band is a Gen ........the one I fell in love with. The other 2 pisc are a rep bought from a member with both the croc and Ocean Racer rubber straps on it. The reason i put the pic of the Gen there is 'cos I'm still waiting for the 4mm mesh band from Jurgen so I just put it there to show you. By the way my rep keeps better time than my friend's Gen in that picture - gains only around 3 seconds over 60 hours. Jim T
  4. I bought a Blue Non-Chrono SOH 46 from one of the members on here and absolutely love it. Go for the swiss ETA movement - mine gained only 3 seconds over 60 hours. Well within COSC standards For what it's worth I bought a Rollie Submariner from Chris at Eurotimez (swiss ETA) and it's a beauty. His prices are good and QC and communication are also really good It came with a Blue croc band and it's fine but I bought a Blue Ocean racer rubber strap from Andrew and it looks great IMO. I've also ordered a 4mm "Monster Mesh" band in polished S/Steel like the one that was on the very first SOH I saw ( This band is my absolute favourite - looks stunning! I think for dressing to look sharp that'll be the one I'll use but with jeans and casual wear the Ocean racer is the go. A few pics for you.
  5. Sorry 'bout the double post ......... don't know what happened there. JT
  6. I bought a blue Ocean Racer Rubber strap for my SOH from Andrew while I'm waiting for the custom made Monster S/Steel polished band from Jurgen and sized it up today. Great band and really easy to size and I think it looks pretty cool. The pic of the Mesh Band is the one that's really got me........saw it in person and "Bada-Bing" I was in love. pics attached. 8. Good stuff astrograph. What colour are you going to shoot for and what band are you going to use, Blue croc Blue / Black Ocean Racer or a S/Steel Mesh. Personally as you can see in the bottom pic in my post I love the S/Steel Monster 4mm Polished Mesh. I'm getting mine from Jurgen Hauff. If you have a slim or extra large wrist he'll make you a custom band for a few extra bucks. I have a fairly slim wrist and the production "off the shelf" band don't go short enough but they all have a 20mm adjustment at the clasp. You can see his stuff at : http://www.jurgensusa.com/ Lonestar watches have 24mm wide Meshies too. http://lonestarwatches.com/3.2Mesh.htm I love mine and I'm sure you'll enjoy yours. Jim T
  9. Thanks once again By-Tor & Team, as usual fabulous stuff. First class As for me............could have been an expensive read. I got a bad case of "W.A.S." - Watch Aquisition Syndrome ! Jim T
  10. Thank Steve, I love the Black too but almost all my Gens and reps are black so once I saw this Blue thing It "Blue" (blew) me away !!!!!!! Cheers Jim
  11. Brown looks very cool too Hike. It's nice to get away from black dials & bezels. Luuurve the polished mesh though. cheers & beers Jim T
  12. Thanks resampler, your piece is a beauty. May I ask you is your mesh band a Lonestar, one of Jurgens or a Gen? I can't see the clasp and can't tell. Cheers from Oz Jim T
  13. Yeah Jeff, I've heard all that "Super Rep" crap too and I don't give a toss. Fact is if you like it, you buy it and wear it. I have a Gen Omega SMP Pro 2254.50 Black dial/Bezel, a Rolex sub rep I bought from Chris and love them too but the SOH is going to get just as much wrist time as any of them. Can't wait for the Polished Stainless mesh band to arrive though ! Cheers form Downunder Jim T
  14. Thanks Yodap, here's a pic of the 4mm Monster mesh band I've just ordered for it. What do you think ???
  15. Hi Y'all, finally bought an SOH from a member here (name withheld) at a fair price and am really happy with it. He's only worn it a few times, has the swiss ETA movement and it looks pristine and only gains around 3 seconds over 60 hours. At the mo I'm wearing it with the Blue croc band that came with it but have ordered a custom sized 4mm "Monster Mesh" polished mesh band for it from Jurgen Hauff - he has some really good stuff. There's a Picture of it below. You guys have probably been there but here's his site anyway - http://www.jurgensusa.com/ Sorry the pics are a bit crap but I took them in a hurry with no tent and bad light. Anyway this little duck is a happy chappy. Cheers & beers from Oz Jim
  16. Thanks once again By Tor for another great review in the Breitlings. As a matter of fact I was only thinking of buying a SOH Rep over the last few days and your review nailed it for me, thank you. Thanks again for taking the time to do do this. This really is a nice place to be.......and wisdom abounds in here. Best regards Jim from Oz (Melbourne Australia)
  17. Have you thought of a 4mm S/Steel Monster Mesh as in the pic & on the link below http://www.chronocentric.com/forums/chrono...rames;read=8965 I'm buying a SOH rep and am buying a Jurgens Meshie for it around $250 stil up there - to my eye they look stunning. Lonestar have them too - neither of them are reps but at around $600 or so bor a Gen I can put up with that. What do you guys think ??
  18. Yeah they have push out joiners either side of the clasp. I found it was just as easy to pay the few bucks and take it to a watchsmith or jeweller and let them do it. I broke my bracelet after a few ryears and bought a nother later bodel on the 'Bay and it had threaded screws on it ans was dead easy. but thos push out joiners ar a pain inthe A%s
  19. Hi all, I'm getting a custom Mesh band made from Jurgens (great looking things) and need to know the d istance between the lug holes from springbar to springbar. I know the lug width is 24mm but I need the "height" of the watch top to bottom....bar to bar across the back of the case. My thanks to sbh718 who told me it's around 50mm and I have no reason to not believe him but our dollar here in Australia has taken a nose-dive and at $259 USD or so for a custom made Meshie in S/Steel I have to be spot on so I really need some affirmation. Can any of you other wise gents confirm his measurement or help out with a close-to accurate measurement in mm's. I'm guessing sbh718 is dead right but at that $'s I have to be really close to correct. Have a look at these bands they're fab! http://www.chronocentric.com/forums/chrono...rames;read=8965 The pic below is of my friend's Gen SOH............I'm in love with this thing. And yes the Addiction/Infection/Illness/Sickness bordering on dependancy is getting worse. ( I think my wife is thinking of having me committed !) Thanks advance Jim
  20. Thanks a ton sbh, I got onto Nate at Jurgens and here's what he sent me back and I quote: "Thanks for your interest! The mesh bracelets are sized to fit a 7.5 to 7.75 inch wrist. They only have about an inch of adjustment overall. We can custom make them to fit almost any wrist, but there is a custom order fee and a longer wait for order fulfillment. Can this work for you? Thanks and best! Nate" end quote. He didn't mention the 140-160mm size that you mentioned in your reply. I think that would be the one to go for and it'd save me the surcharge of a custom made bracelet. As for the wait until Christmas I can handle that. My wrist is only around 6.3/4" or so. Do you think that would do the job on a SOH? Oh by the way could you maybe drop me a line with the measurement of the actual SOH from top to bottom from lug hole to lug hole if you know what I mean. That'll give me a really good idea as to the length band I'll need. Looking at the site these are the best bands I've seen and I really appreciate your answer to my Q. I'll keep you posted as to what transpires. Cheers Jim
  21. G'day all, I'm still looking for a 24mm S/S Mesh band for a SOH 46 like the one in the picture (which is a Gen) I think it looks stunning. The guy who owns the Gen watch in the pic has a similar size wrist and it almost fitted perfectly and he still had some links left to adjust. Tried Lonestar and a few others but they appear not able to be down-sized to my kinda slim 7" wrist. Have any of you guys heard on anyone meking Rep Meshies like this one? Jim
  22. Hi By-Tor, sorry it's taken so long to get back - had to travel for work. My old Omega is so close to 35mm across the case and 38mm including the crown. As I mentioned it was presented to my uncle for 20 years service in 1960 according to the engraving on the back of the case. cheers from Oz Jim
  23. I bought my first after doing a lot of reading here and went with Chris at Eurotimez. Great watch & first class communication & delivery.
