  1. Man, that is ia beatiful piece. Just sweet !
  2. Are we talking about my Omega in my post or Fireman Fred's ? Mine's the one with the sub-second dial.........pretty sure it's not a Seamaster
  3. Thanks Fireman. much appreciated. Now that I know what it is , when anyone asks me I can tell them. Cheers & beers for that,
  4. It's 33mm case diameter & 37mm inc the crown. Probably looks a bit big on my skinny wrist.
  5. Definitely not Reps. Like I said, I took it to Seiko in Melbourne and they absolutely verified the watch as Gen. Singapore - no problem especially if you use PayPal as your payment method. Pug's got one and he's no mug ......gee, that rhymes!
  6. Hi T.Torrent, yeah I thought it should have atrip to the doctor before it needs a major. I still wear it and people do comment on it - " gee, where did you get that old girl" sort of thing. Best JT
  7. Anyone seen one of these? I inherited it from my uncle. It was the classic "25 years of service" gold watch. I;ve looked around and can't find a model no or anything about it. it is enscribed on the back "Presented to...." blah, blah 1960. I just keep winding it up and she only runs about 25 seconds fast every 2-4-days. Any thoughts ?
  8. Yeah, yeah I know it's a Jap but I've had one of these Seiko SKX031K2 100 m Diver for about 7-8 years and it's proven to be a really good ol' friend that never complaines. I really beat the hell out of it. . I have a Gen Omega SMP 2254 and a Noob Sub and a few eclectic others but this is the trusty War-Horse I wear when I'm doing rough work or partying etc. I only bought on the 'Bay on a whim - only paid about $130 AUD for it and it was that good I immediately bought another in case this one ever died. They are still around that price. Comes in a Seiko box with paper/warranty & manual. I took it to Seiko here in Melbourne and they verified it. Personally I think they're not a bad look and it keeps great time for an Auto - 18 - 20 seconds per week fast. Great lumes too even after all these years. Thay're still on ebay and still come in different color variations. here's a whole bunch or 'em: Interested in your thoughts...... http://jewelry.shop.ebay.com/items/Wristwa...Q_udhiZQQ_udloZ
  9. Yeah I got 'Account Suspended" last nite and now as the others said - "Down for maintenance"
  10. Why thank you Mr M.Fish, I love the 2254 SMP. You know the minute you try something on and it just feels "good"....that's what happened with me and the Mmega. I always loved the Seamaster over everything else but when I saw it in black I was smitten. At $2000 AUS this time last year when I bought it it was and still is one the more affordable and durable Gens that still has that elegant but kinda tough look to it. The good ol Seiko still gets a hammering and looks better "on" the flesh than it does in this picture. I bought it on Ebay. It came from Singapore and I only paid around $130 for it - they're still there now listed inder "Seiko Submariner" Here's a couple of links to show you. Black/Black Bezel & Black Dial/Blue & Red Bezel. They are the one of the best secrets around and have that kind of "Rollie" look about them. Run's about 22 seconds a week fast - pretty good. http://jewelry.shop.ebay.com/items/Wristwa...Q_udhiZQQ_udloZ http://cgi.ebay.com/Trusted-SEIKO-330Ft-Sc...id=p3286.c0.m14 http://cgi.ebay.com/Trusted-SEIKO-330Ft-Sc...id=p3286.c0.m14 Fully verified with box and papers ( I took it to Seiko's HQ here in Melbourne and they told me it's the real deal) Comes in a Seiko Box with warranty I manual. Glad to meet another "Omega Man"! Cheers & beers from Oz Jim Seiko pic:
  11. Found this today, some of you may have already seenit but as an owner of exactly the same gen Seamaster I found this very compelling reading. A good read for Rollie Sub fans too. It's just one guy's opinion but an interesting read nonetheless Link below........your thoughts....... http://www.rolexreferencepage.com/smpvssub.html
  12. Greetings, Having a gen Omega Seamaster 2254.50 and a Rep Rollie Sub with a Swiss ETA movement & I was looking around the 'net and found this really intersting shootout between the 2 Genuine watches. You guys have probably seenit before but maybe not. I have exactly the same Gen Seamaster Black/Black and was of course Interested in the review. I know this is one man's opinion but It made me love my SMP a whole lot more. Value for money - a Gen 2254,50 is my choice - even over the Planet Ocean. My Rollie rep is almost Perfect Rolex weight etc but the bracelet feels kinda loose & cheap, even my buddy's Gen Sub feels a lot cheaper than the Omega. The SMP just "Feels better when wearing it. What do you guys think, I'm really interested in your thoughts? Link to the review: http://www.rolexreferencepage.com/smpvssub.html
  13. Yeah I know, I was just giving up all the info I have.......I don't think you can ever have enough. Good lick in your Quest for your Rollie. JT
  14. Yanni Man, here's another email snippet with a price Chris sent me for a EuroMariner without Engraving but with Lug Holes. "Hi Jim, Price without engravingsand with lugholes = $475 USD with real ETA. I'll post pictures soon in my section of the Euromariner without engravings, and lugholes. Warm regards Chris" Eurotimez Policy and Shipping procedures: http://www.eurotimez.com (about us) _________________________________________________________________________ Again, hope it helps. JT
  15. Hi Yannis7777, I enquired about the EuroMariner from Chris after I bought the Noob from him. Here's the prices with or without the engraving. As I mentioned earlier I'm not crazy about all that "bust stuff on the rehaut. I think the Euros have lug holes too. Someone here might have a clue as to that. The crystal is raised a bit more too on the Euro. This is copied and pasted from the email Chris sent me. ________________________________________________________________________________ _____________ "Hi Jim, Well for the submariner there two available options. For the best Submariner: Got two versions: Best of the best = Euromariner See here why: http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showtopic=80604 Price = 275 usd DG movement Price = 475 usd genuine ETA movement The next best = Noobmariner (submariner from noobfactory) it was previously the best submariner... and still is for it's value. Price = 120 usd DG movement Price = 280 usd ETA movement. (read more about the Noobmariner in By-Tor review section on RWG) DG = 120 usd ETA = 280 usd with genuine ETA. Here for pics http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showtopic=82237 For details about the movement... DG movement 2813 = chinese movement with 22 jewels, 21.6k bph. ETA movement = genuine ETA 2836-2, 25 jewels at 28.8k bph. It is water-proof for swimming, 50m. The Euromariner it is 2.5x etc see WHY THE EUROMARINER for more info. Sincerely, EUROTIMEZ ________________________________________________________________________________ ________ end quote Hope that helps ......... it's as much info as I have - Picture is of my Noob.
  16. Thank you Loosends, I plan too...........I can feel the "addiction coming on though ! I think a Noob Sub is the best benchmark and you're right.....It's a Happy dollar experience. cheers Jim
  17. G'day from Australia, A few Ausiies here too. I'm only a few weeks "young here' and the people here are a fantastic community. I learned pretty quickly that reading, the Search button and the "Links" tab at the top to the dealer's sites are the best tools you can emply. You'll soon be infected with the "addiction"............enjoy the ride. Jim
  18. Believeme TT it's not crap at all. that last thread you posted is it - that's what it's all about as far as I can see it, guys like you explaining to mugs like me why, what, how the forum works. etc. As a mater of fact I've been thinking of upgrading to support the Forum as it has supported me even though I'm only about 2 weeks "young" here. It's well run, a plethora of info and plain and simply nice pleasant like-minded people who help each other. I think it's great and will be hanging around in here probably a good deal more than my marriage can bear !!! Quote...." Jim, wher are you? looking at those watches again" only joking but she does say it but knows it's harmless. She thought that when I bought my Gen Seamaster 2254 last year that would be it BUT...... you know the rest. I'm prattling again. Thanks for the tips etc and you'll see me sniffing around this place often. Late here, have to work tomorrow. Have a good one Mr T cheers JT
  19. Yeah I know TTorrent, I just got carried away a bit ...kid in a candy store thing. I intend to just precis them down like you guys from now on in & cut out all the rambling. And all the visuals except when I maybe need to show something like a new buy etc. For now Master T I'll stick to "Wax on, Wax off" Hey man you've really been a mentor to this new boy in the neighborhood - so has By-Tor. Thanks a ton. cheers Jim
  20. Thank you Stephane, You're dead right..............I can see a long list of reps on the horizon....the next a Blue Breitling SOH with a S/S mesh band. I have a Gen Omega SMP 2254.50 and love it to death but this is so much fun and all you guys are so good to us newies. Nothing seems to be a problem, you're all ready to help. I'm going to learn & read all I can and really have a ball with all this. All the very best from Melbourne Oz Cheers & beers Jim
  21. Well it's arrived, as per my last post but I had uploaded the pictures incorrectly, finally nailed it today. Very happy with the watch and the whole First Buyer process ET and all you guys re-assured me and made me feel totally comfortable. As a new kid on the rep block there was a lot of apprehension on my part - especially after nearly wasting my $'s on one of the "Googled" up scam sites..you all know who they are. This place is a joy to part of, a plethora of knowledge and help for us rookies. Thanks for everything RWG members. The only problem is that I can feel the "Infection" setting in .....I think I need a Breitling SOH ! Is there a support group for people with this affliction........the 12 step program perhaps ? lol Anyway, enough rambling ......some pics of the new "Kid"
  22. Thanks T.Torrent, I have to duck out for a while but I'll nail this today if it kills me. I feel like a participant in "Amateur Hour" but this one I just can't get.But I must say you've done a great job explaining it. I hate bothering you guys and really appreciate the nudges you've all given us new kids on the block. Fingers crossed, Jim
  23. I'm going to use ImageShack for this how-to, as if you have some webspace, you'll have ISP-specific instructions that I have no way of knowing. Go to http://imageshack.us/ Click on "Choose File" Choose a file Click on "Host It" Copy the link from the bottom line of code, marked in blue below. Ignore the rest. Seriously, they're of no help to us. Check the URL you have is good Then, take the URL, and in a post, put IMG tags around it as follows: [img=http://img84.imageshack.us/img84/4476/subwp3640zs3.jpg] Preview your message and you'll see a perfectly-sized image embedded in the post. If you want multiple pictures, repeat this procedure but don't forget to have each image on their own separate line. If you don't put returns in, you're going to make a mess.
  24. Thanks for the tip By-Tor, I'm still stumbling a bit around here. It can be a bit embarrassing when you make a dumb mistake like that and it's like and email.......once you've hit "send" you cant get it back. I love it here and am trying to inhale all this info you guys sre disseminating. cheers Jim
  25. Hey b16a2, thanks for the note. When it first arrived it was really fast around 10-15 secs a day. My gen SMP 2254 runs around 3-4 secs slow per day. Do the ETA's on the Rep subs ever settle down? I know it's within COSC parameters but will it stabilize? here's a couple of pics of her. cheers from Oz Jim
