Damn Flav. I have been searching for a 111i for a while and every time I find one it's sold 15 minutes before I call. Where'd you get yours? Care to sell me that 11 rep you got there?

www.revolution-press.com More of a quarterly Book than a magazine, but it is a fantastic read. The printing, paper, photography, etc. are unbelievable. It is certainly the best I've found. I also enjoy the bi-monthly publication Watch Time. It is also a quality publication, and much less expensive. Revolution is pantastic though. What a piece of work.

Neil is still your best shot at real QC with these watches though. That's worth a little ball busting in my book. Of course...if there's nothing for sale then....

The serial # is a DEAD giveaway if you ask me. I mean there is only ONE #35 H series 11 out there. Funny how it comes up for sale so frequently on ebay. I guess the bidder will probably not even know the difference when he gets the watch. He'll probably get nabbed when he takes it in for service.

Asked about its' origins and warranty status...got this "It was bought at the Panerai in Florence ITALY. I have the receipt and warranty card"

Almost 24 hours after i reported it for the first time...21 hours to go, and ebay still has it up there. ...yet I tried listing 2 gift cards at the same time and one was pulled within 5 minutes citing the policy "You may only sell 1 gift card in a 7 day period. Your auction has been removed" I guess they want to get their commission before they take action.

Actually, the GMT I saw was a display back. The movement was a big part of what i loved. Very nicely decorated. It has a double barrel design for 64 hour power reserve, and judging by the extra small balance wheel I would guess the rate is faster that 28,800bph too (is it?). I'd buy a rep in a heart beat, but I agree that it would be very hard to duplicate the finish of this watch. It is the epitome of precision, which is also another reason i love it. I doubt you'll ever get a misaligned marker or date on this one!

...and WISH there was a rep of it. Rarely does a watch strike me like this one does. It really took my attention. I tried to snap a picture of it but the clerk in the shop freaked out and threatened to have me arrested if I didn't erase the shot immediately. He then nearly shouted that if the store was to get robbed tonight I would be getting a call from the police. Geez buddy! I love my Carrera on steel. I did not like it near as much on rubber. It is exceptional quality. I have washed it in the sink but would not wear it in the shower. Holding the gen right before the holding the rep shows this rep looks and feels like the real deal. It is one of the best reps I have ever seen. It's only true flaw is the date font. I have worn this into ADs and never got a suspecting eye...even when standing next to the very case containing the gen. Unless you know to look for the date issue you would never know. As for it's reliability compared to the Seiko...better go for the Seiko unless you plan to service the 7750 in the TAG. It is a great watch, but I am sure you are aware of the potential movement issues when unserviced.

Vegas report - All the watch shopps are fantastic...but very little discounts to be had. No more than anywhere back home. Favorites were the Tourneau (of course), the little watch store outside of Tourneau, and the Wynn. Horologio was pretty fun, and the clerk was very firendly. We got to play with all the watches. Tried to hit the pawn shops but all I found was some overpriced Datejusts, and quite a few beat up Seikos, Citizens, and co. Maybe I hit the wrong ones. So far I'm only down $85. Three more days to go though. There are currently 11 PAMS in the state...all Radiomirs. I asked about the 11 and got nothing but scoffs and laughs. My wife fell in love with a diamond and rose gold VC. $23,000. Strange that the clerk was REALLY trying to convince me to buy it for her despite my Fender T-shirt and ripped jeans. It must happen a lot!

Vmena, Can you confirm that these fit the 42.5mm Gen without modification?

Are these a perfect fit, for the gen? If so, I'd like one for my gen 42.5mm....in black. If the price is right and it is available I would like an orange too.

Lucky me! It's an early anniversary celebration in LV and I'll be hitting the strip all next week. I may have a change to get a nice Gen if the price is right, so for those in the know...where do I go for great deals on gens? There's a Tourneau but I expect retail or close to it there...there are some high profile shops in some of the casinos too, but I don't really know where to begin. I'd love to get my hands on a PAM111!

Remember, the 7750 isn't bi-directional winding. If your winder goes clockwise and counter-clockwise you are only winding it half the time. Also, the rotor has a tendency to actually defy gravity sometimes and spin bacwards without winding so it might not wind as quickly as others during standard wear.

Why only when you go to Vegas? is it cheaper there? If so tell me where to go! I'll be in Vegas all next week and I'm lookin to pick up a new watch if I can corner a deal. I know they have Tourneau and Tessorini...but where are the watch dealers that give some kind of discount?!

Wow! Too bad us watch snobs look down on the Jap watches when compared to Swiss. Seiko makes a damn fine watch, and for most people they are quite affordable. If I wasn't trying to be a WIS i'd probably just have one nice Seiko and wear it proudly. They certainly have contributed as much or more to the watch industry as any Swiss maker, WRT to technology and advancement. What the hell are they using for lume?!

Zdeno Chara hit 101 in the skills competition. If you can do that I'll be impressed. I gotta imagine that the hardest hit golf ball can't come close to the average slap shot as far as shock transfered to the wrist though. I think cracking a speeding baseball with an aluminum bat is probably right up there too. I think people abuse their mechanical watches like this every day without thought. If it was that bad for them I think it'd be well known and undisputed by now. Quartz watches came out in the 70s didn't they? What were they wearing during the first 2 world wars...and not to mention the building of the Empire State building, 75+ years of professional hockey, etc. Canal street reps won't take a jog to the corner store sometimes...but the better built watches are goping to be just fine.

Do yourself a favor and get an ETA datewheel while you're at it. No sense in not replacing the only noticable flaw in this watch while the dial is already off! Anyone know where to find the part on ofrei.com?

I too have gained a love for gens, inspired by collecting reps. While I always think about my next gen, and which one is deserving of the $$$, I am stillvery into collecting reps in between. Some watches I like but would never want to own the Gen. I'll probably have a gen Rollie one day, but for now I think they are so overpriced I can get a gen PAM and a Gen Omega for the same price as a SS sub. ...or, a gen PAM and a few fun reps. Hey! Now that's an idea!

I asked Omega about shock resistyance regarding my Gen PO and was told that "barring stupidity" there were no sports or activities that I would engage in that would sufficiently shock the watch enough to cause damage. They said golf, tennis, baseball, etc should all be fine. The most likely type of damage that could be caused would be a cracked crystal. The movement has incabloc shock protection and will be fine. As far as reps, I guess it's how much you trust the watch but with our HQ reps, with ETA movements i wouldn't be inclined to worry too much. If you do, pick up a beater quartz rep for those occasions. I have Joshua's Formula 1 TAG that I use as a beater watch.

Great work! I enjoyed this post. Looks like the CG and crown are not the only sore spot on this one though. Something has gone terribly wrong with the minute markers. The 12 and 6 look nice, fat and rased. the markers look like canal street stuff. Compare to the Gen which has a similar look to the 12 and 6, just on a separate piece. I'm sure the CG and crown are easy fixes, but the dial stuff is best left to an expert.

Wouldn't they have to become a member to read the posts on the board? I thought all forums were locked out until you registered. That means, at the very least, whoever is responsible has an account here.
