  1. tic.tic.tic.tic.tic.tic.tic.tic.tic.tic I love hearing my two new 28,000 bph 7750's in a quiet room. They sound like very high end movements. No problems so far.
  2. Great post. It never occured to me that which dial you move makes a difference. Obviously (duh!!!) moving a continuously moving dial will need to be done with jeweled bearings and quality gears to insure reliability over moving a dial that clicks over once a minute. I don't know of any other modification of the 7750 in the rep world that moves the second hand except the Daytona. I'm not suggesting this rep will have similar problems, the Daytona has a fruit basket of dial mods, but moving a running second subdial must require more care. When a 2836 or 2824 or 21J is modified to move the running seconds from the center hub to an ofset subdial, does it face similar challenges?
  3. Are there any other 7750's out there with this arrangement? Does it have a reliability history? I thought the only 7750 changes on the market were the 12 to 3 movement of the minute wheel to mimic a 7753 and the daytona switch.
  4. I just went back to the site and I can't find the Paypal statement although I'm sure I saw it earlier. I just tried to order through Mb and upload cash to my account using my debit card and BOOM!!! Frozen out of my moneybookers account and left only with wire transfer options which are going to cost me $20+ I guess the semi free ride at Pauls is something of an illusion. This is a $145 watch. Still a great buy though.
  5. This is a 28,000 bph 7750 with running seconds at 6??? I am assuming this movement of the running seconds at 6 and the removal of the chrono hours from the 6 o'clock position is a reliable switch??? This jumble isn't going to have "New Daytona" problems associated with it is it?
  6. No, not yet. Are there problems associated with it???? Edit: Ahhh, just went to the site and attempted to order. Main page says Paypal accepted but monerbookers and WU are still the only two options available through the payment selector.
  7. And Paul takes Paypal now so no WU transfer fees and free shipping. The $119 is a true $119. I know his customer service is characterized by some as "you bought it, you're stuck with it" but for these prices, who the hell can resist?
  8. It is absolutley GORGEOUS!!! But the rep has subdial spacing AND size issues. I've thought about it....but just can't do it until I'm done with collecting all the 98% accurate reps first. This one's in the 90% range IMHO.
  9. Well, mine match up to 60=11:59 80=8:59 120=5:59 240=2:59 But you know what, I think I'll stick to a bezel Tachy ring that's flawed in this way to one that is accurately afixed but chewed up from the owner/operator doing a self repair.
  10. Am I delerious or is this "cheaper than cheap" ETA rep one of the better looking LV dials and bezels out there? Genuine Dial Pauls LV Dial It seems to have the spacing right, the pearl is close. The print font is a little bold but we've seen some pretty striking variations in the genuines. Marker wraps are a tiny bit thick but not a killer. I think with a new crown, this could be the one! With just $119 invested, some upgrades wouldn't be a bank breaker and this one is as close as any I have seen "out of the box" including the heavily promoted and upgraded ultimates.
  11. Whew, agreed about the inner tics, .....what a rep!!!!!!! The outer bezel is misaligned rather badly on mine If you use the centered split on the end link as a reference, the zero on my 60 is about 1mm to the left of it. The straight on genuine pic shous the line right down the middle of the 6 and the zero.
  12. I've got to stop staring at this thing. It looks like your tachy bezel is misaligned, ...like mine, applied about 2-3 tics rotated to the left and the internal bezel tics don't line up with the five minute marks. I wonder if the bezel is easily removed so it can be re-aligned. Other that these little nagging flaws, the watch is beautiful . The blue dial is electric!!!!
  13. Similar problems with the same watch and the full wind and a day of running without wearing, then full wind again solved all problems. This is an issue with swiss 7750 as well.
  14. I have 2 reps that are probably in the 98% accurate range. The Bentlet GT in white has an inner bezel thickness issue and a slight color variation in the subdials but that is it. It has already gone into the lion's den of two AD's and was praised for its' beauty. The other is my new Tag Link Chrono. No actual, "Got'chas" at ADs yet but the rep has a well documented reputation here for out of this world accuracy. A date window size issue and a single digit number error on the case back but that's about it. I only buy replicas in this accuracy of fidelity range. I'm a quality, not quantity guy. An honorable mention goes to the Omega Broad Arrow Speedmaster in white that was noticed by a salesperson at a high end store. He pointed it out to another customer who was looking at Speedmasters and said "Now there's the Broad Arrow I was telling you about".
  15. I dont know how from either of those 8 minutes past 10 photos how you can gauge the spacing. What I know of the genuines is from a google image search. Every LV on ebay I have seen has the big spacing. And then I find this right here in another thread!!!!!! http://cgi.ebay.com/BN-Rolex-50th-Annivers...1QQcmdZViewItem
  16. I consider all "operator servicable" repairs as par for the replica course. As for the tone of your post, who's doing the dringing????? An update, a screw in my Bentley GT bracelet I swapped out for a BOB strap fit the bill PERFECTLY for the Tag clasp repair. And thanks to By-Tor for his tutorial on how to size a Tag bracelet. I would have had NO idea!!!!
  17. How come no one mentions the most glaring difference of all, the one most all ADs pick up at a first glance of the dial. Replica Dial: Oyster Perpetual Date Genuine Submariner non LV dial: Oyster Perpetual Date Genuine LV Dial: Oyster (space) Perpetual (space) Date Of the LV's I've shopped for, and this includes MBW's down to the $88 21js only King has an LV with a dial accurate in this regard.
  18. Just be prepared for what happens with almost every gold plated replica watch. They will eventually look like crap even if you dont wear them. I had a yellow gold plated Vacheron Malte that turned brown in a year even though I wore it very rarely. Plating in the replica business is a dicey art. Gold is expensive and gold plating over another yellowish metal like brass doesn't have to be very good to look good for a while (long enough to sell) and will quickly degrade. I have never gotten an adequete explaination of the difference between "wrapped" vs thick electroplating. Some dealers explain wrapped as 10-15 micron thick plating. Others leave you with the perception it means something like "gold leaf" treatment. This isn't to say plating can't be very good. I have several genuines that are plated that have stood the test of time very well. We're talking replicas from China here buddy and gold for a month is all they need to be able to say "Hey, it was gold when we sold it to you." Any way you slice it, your gold Daytona would weigh as much as a bowling ball if it were a genuine but if you never take it off your wrist so no one could pick it up, it will look like week old cheese before long. I stick to SS in reps. One day, I will buy the only solid gold rep I think is worth it, a Rolex Datejust TT bracelet with solid 18K midlinks, bezel and crown from Josh. About $500.
  19. Standing at the counter yesterday with my wife when a gentleman of the same generation commented positively on my Bentley GT with the Cafe au Lait colored strap from BOB. He was wearing a Panerai genuine he bought on the "bay" for about $3000. I'm not even minorly versed in Panerai's but it was a white dial with a greenish croc strap. It had a second hand subdial at either 3 or 6 oclock. The watch still dwarfed my Bentley. I still think they look a little strange. The difference between a genuine wearer and a replica wearer? We left and he got into his Porsche Cayenne and we got in our Pontiac Aztek. I wonder if the Chinese make body conversion kits so I could drop an Infinity FX45 shell over it!!!
  20. Here Here Anyone who passes the muster here is first rate. I love and use Joshua myself but others are just as passionate in their devotion to Andrew, King, TTK, Eddielee, PT etc..... Getting here is such a revelation isn't it? When I first started tip toeing into the world of replicas, I said to myself, "Someone must be making high quality replicas for the buyer who wants high quality movements and high fidelity cases." It took me quite a few thousands spent on junk and quite a few years to get here. Welcome to the promised land. Enjoy it while it lasts because one day when China gets serious about being a legitimate player in the international marketplace, all of this will go away overnight!!!!!
  21. That's a BOB strap Creama color/croc grained and 24mm for the Bentley. I have since been informed that the GT takes a 22mm strap and they could be right. This one is a tight fit. It also brings out the color in the dial strikingly. The subdials, which are not as silvery grey as the genuine, are much greyer appearing with this strap combination.
  22. I'd feel......HOMICIDAL!!!!!!! Actually, last week I was something less than sympathetic to another who lost $500 to "Disappearing Angus" saying "Yo dude, this is the cost of doing business" and now I'm whining about a missing 0.0005 cent screw and a quirky movement. No wonder I drink!!!
  23. Well the short list of what's next !. Moonwatch with frozen 6 o'clock subdial. This was next on my list but Josh was having trouble with his supplier. I, of course, couldn't wait so I ordered the Tag. I gave my original (rep not gen) Moonwatch to a friend who didn't mind the subdial issue. He loves it. 2. IWC GST Chrono. Obsession....obsession...... 3. 4th Generation PO Orange. Obsession.............. 4. IWC FA Jones with decorated movement ....maybe.... This watch has come down a few notches in my eyes given some recent reviews about color and the fact that the decorated movement, while nice, is still miles away from the genuine. 5. Rolex TT Datejust Jubelee bracelet, solid 18k midlinks, bezel and crown. I know what others say about solid gold from replica dealers but I have Joshua's solem word this watch is the real deal. Understated size with a white dial and gold stick markers, it's the only gold watch I would consider. Oh and a quick edit, I forgot. VC Overseas white dial. Another obsession.........
  24. Excellent tip. I still have the bar as you did so finding a small screw to hold it in place should be easy. Both my New Tag and Breitling GT have the "jumping minute hand" issue. It's actually no big deal and is obviously a movement associated quirk. Leave it to an obsessive compulsive to find it. I love this f*&%ing site!!!
