  1. Ahhhhh Yes, before drug testing and parenthood and home ownership with a mortgage....the good ole days complete with long term loss of short term memory
  2. Agreed, but honor among theives is something of a lofty expectation.
  3. Wow, what a thread! It's like watching a bunch of 12 year old boys discovering they can see pubic hair in one of the ladies underwear shots in the Sears catalogue, climbing all over eachother trying to get their hands on as many copies as possible. Give it some time, faults will be identified, there will be plenty to go around, someone will get their hands on one that doesn't work out of the box, the straps will be shitty etc....... Looks like Josh has plenty and with good pics
  4. Look, I know we all treat this replica business like it's amazon.com or Wal-Mart but this is illegal you know. I feel for my collector friend but I consider losses like this part of the cost of doing business. I got scammed many times 20 years ago buying a half an ounce that was 50% oregano but where the f*&$ was I going to [censored] to? The fact is all we can do is police ourselves and the business as best we can and, unfortunatly for the guy who is out $500, an event such as this should give everyone pause from doing business with Angus again should he ever re-surface, and serve as a reminder that whenever we stick our hard earned cash into an illegal trade, the chances of this happening are decidedly not zero. Yes, an email would be nice and responsible but a guy who lives on the other side of the world, doing business in an illegal trade, probably does not give a [censored] about you or your $500. He can always re-surface in another cyber persona with a clean reputational slate.
  5. $119 from Paul. This watch still reminds me how much money I blew on crap for 5 times the price before I came to RWG. ETA 2836, great rehaut and cyclops mag.
  6. I opened my Bentley and inside was an original copy of the Declaration of Independence.
  7. How come I was able to use the non functioning regulator on the old style asian 7750 to get a 60 sec fast/day Broad Arrow down to +-5 sec/day???
  8. Just fix the bezel insert on both and they will be perfect!!!!! Wow, some pics of god awful reps in this thread. They look like they were made by grade school kids.
  9. I'm a greatful recovering replica overpayer thanks to the program available here at RWG. I had about 30 seconds of denial followed by guilt and self recrimination. Not a single replica that I bought at those other sites survives to this day. At least two $200 "japanese movement" sub reps had the case tube strip out of the case threads when I screwed the crown down too hard. One Patek had the hands and micro rotor fall off. Several others simply stopped running for no reason. Today, thanks to RWG, I know what a reliable replica costs and where to get them. If your obstinate friend is reading this, get over it, you've been scammed. Enjoy the promised rep land!!!!
  10. Used, pristine Moonwatch ...no question. Iconic and I was born in 1960 and watched every televised space launch since 1963.
  11. I'm sorry, what did you say? I guess I was entranced for a few hours. Lovely accessories!!!!
  12. All Omega Chrono reps have 7750 subdial position issues. Although I believe the PO Chrono rep is a beautiful watch in it's own right, It's way off from the genuine. Subdials are too small and too far from the center. And yes, the Omega logo is on steroids
  13. I don't know what more you can do than to send ordering details in an email specifying DO NOT include any details. I think Joshua's ordering interface links directly with PayPal when you buy so you do not get an intervening warning not to include details. It makes for easier ordering and easier screw ups from those newbies out there who think buying a replica watch from China is like ordering a DVD from Amazon.com. As much grief as he gets here, I think Paul and others like him who do their initial screening through email with instructions as to what to do and what not to do better insulate themselves from problem customers. They probably also loose customers due to the extra layer they have to go through.
  14. Nothing more useful than a side by side My make or break on the LV has been the dial printing of "Oyster Perpetual date" While it's difficult to see here from the position of the hands, the genuine has a bigger space between the words than the replica. Also the flutes on the crown are not as deep or crisp as the genuine. Other than this, its pretty close but for some replica collectors, these are deal breakers.
  15. "Oyster Perpetual Date" on the rep vs "Oyster (space) Perpetual (space) Date" on the genuine.
  16. Oh I never said these watches were not a remarkable value, they are!!! Are you sure you can't see the thicker metal wrap around the lume dots? Look closer!!! They are also a good millimeter or two further away from the number tics on the dial than on the genuine.
  17. I just love the fact that I have "very good reps" When a salesman at an AD or a collector or owner of genuines is blown away by the quality of the replica, it always sparks an interesting conversation. As was mentioned before in another thread, I don't consider the watches we love and collect to be the run of the mill. These are watches that actually make the owners of genuines stop and think "now why the hell did I spend all this bread on this watch when I could have gotten one of those?" I consider them "high fidelity copies" of genuine pieces. When someone inquires as to their origin, I tell them, truthfully, they are pieces almost as rare as the genuines. You can't get these babies on Canal Street.
  18. Unfortunatly, few of these "perfect LVs are anything close to accurate. The pearl is wrong, the bezel numbers are too fat, the date mag cyclops is misaligned, the crown is too big, the metal borders around the lume dots are too thick, the print font and spacing on "Oyster Perpetual Date" is wrong, the crown guards are off......... oh yes, to answer what you asked, yes the mag is wrong.
  19. I think I read an administrative post last night after the server clean up that the dealers who were not paying their dues for a listing in the dealer forum had to be deleted.
  20. The statistics speak for themselves. I can put you in touch with 4990 patients who will attest to the miracle of lasik surgery or the 10 who have suffered permanent, uncorrectable damage to their vision. I think, in elective surgeries, the fact that the risk is NOT ZERO must be carefully considered.
  21. The unmodified 7750 has running seconds at 9, chrono minutes at 12, and chrono hours at 6. To modify it to 7753 configuration in the Speedy (the genuine speedy doesn't contain a 7753) they only add a few gears to move the chrono minutes to 3. Moving the chrono minutes to a slightly closer to the center 3 and just shifting the other subdials closer to the center shouldn't be a tough assignment but the only mods that are done on a regular basis to the base asian 7750 caliber is the 12 to 3 shift of the minute counter to give the appearance of a 7753 config, or the crazy shuffle to have running seconds at six in the new daytonas. I dont think the market cry for a Speedmaster specific movement is loud enough to justify the production. Just too many genuines that are replicated have 7750 and 7753 dial positions.
  22. First, could they fix the subdial spacing on the speedy? Yes. With some offset gearing the dials could be tweaked into a more favorible position. Do they have any incentive to do so. Absolutely not! The Daytona is a very popular replica and demand sets the market as evidenced by the amount of gearing added to it to move the dials accurately, (and at the expense of the mechanical reliability of the pieces. Read Ziggy's review of the Daytona running seconds at six for a great explaination of the "Rube Goldberg" dial mechanics in the Daytona), but there is no incentive to do so in the Omega's. They are just not popular enough among collectors to justify the re-working. The subdial spacing is a minor issue anyway. Many here have posted pictures of genuine Speedys with different subdial positions over the years. With a watch that was made in about a thousand varients, the subdials are far from a fatal flaw.
  23. Agreed, the bracelet on my Speedmaster Broad Arrow is as good in feel as my genuine SMP bracelet.
  24. I've had the hands and coronet pop off a $175 submariner rep when it dropped 18 inches from my hand to a countertop. I've had "screws of unknown origin" rattle around in the movement of a Breitling replica only to fall out into the black hole of livingroom carpeting never to be seen again when I opened the back. I had a submariner rep fog when I sweated in it and I dried it out only to have it fail from the effects of getting wet several months later. Rotors fall off, bracelets break, soft screws strip, date wheels easily become un-synchroniized.....I hope and rub the rabbits foot that my replicas approach Timex or Casio specifications in their reliability. Omega, Breitling, Panerai and Rolex specifications, other than appearance, is a pipe dream. I sure as hell avoid challenging them when the challenge is elective. I think your assesment that tweeking a PAM rep up to specs puts it in the catagory of a genuine, the only difference being the paperwork and box speaks volumes about how you feel and use your replicas. More power to you. Classic car collectors come in 2 flavors, those who rub them and those who drive them. I agree with you, I am something of a "hanger collector" prefering to acquire beautiful pieces and keep them that way in a glass case only to be taken out on rare occasions. I think I wear my Breitling GT about 10 hours a week. The rest of the week, it gets rubbed with a polishing cloth, but when it has to shine, it's a very bright star.
