Hey, welcome!!! ID myself. Not nearly as long a residency stint!! You must still be paying off your loans if you're here buying reps!!!

I'll have to tell my wife there's variations on the "french tickler" we've never tried

I should take my condom off before I wash my c*#k? Now you tell me

I won't rest until I get a genuine Moonie!!!! Or a replica with a closed case back and a geared up 7750 to move the subdials to the correct position......Yeah ...I know...I'll be getting a genuine

Just not my style. This watch looks like it went through a wood chipper. I guess the owner only had 100 grit sandpaper to work with!!!! I have a friend who has a 20 year old SD and he gives it as much thought as he would wearing a Timex and it still, when he wipes off the dirt and grime, cleans up like a beautiful piece.

Exactly what effect does restoration have on the value of a vintage, rare timepiece? I know in the antique furniture biz, a repair here and there to things damaged is not considered a disaster but refinishing certainly is. If a watch through ageing has rusted hands, a discolored dial and an unreliable movement, just how much restoration is enough? My Dad had a vintage Girrard Perregeaux restored several years ago to "like new" condition including a complete dial refinishing. The watch look as good as the day it rolled out of Switzerland 40 years ago but did we screw up the value???

I've never been a fan of distressing out of the box. I have custom furniture customers who ask me about it all the time and I ask them to be patient. If it is an item that will get wear and tear on a daily basis, a patina will show up soon enough and my experience with distressing daily wear items is that several years later they look terrible.

Is the vintage Cosmo on the left a replica? If it is, can you PM me who you got it from? Thanks Chris

Solid Rolex Oyster Bracelet 2006 Edition
crystalcranium replied to Alextor's topic in The Rolex Area
God Ubi, you are killing me with all this "watch porn". My wrist is getting a hard on. Oh God, I love my reps but I'm begining to feel the genuine pull again -
Hey, just because you're paranoid, it doesn't mean no one is really out to get you!!! Maybe TTK is just a little jaded because as a dealer, he probably gets blamed for everything from movements that quit after a year to rainy days when watches are delivered. I have to agree that opening up the back of a new PO just because you couldn't resist it, (and that is how you described it in your first post, not an attempt to adjust it) and now you are sounding the "oh God help me" alarm, sounds a little like an 8 year old. If you want to learn how something works, dissect something that isn't worth anything.

Some Advice To All Customers ... Not Only Mine
crystalcranium replied to trustywatchguy's topic in General Discussion
Can watch sniffing dogs be far behind??? I hope this is just a passing phase and not a portent of things to come. You dealers would know better than us if this is just a storm to be weathered. Inginuity, bribery, sleight of hand, etc...I'm sure are all being employed with all the best of intentions!!! -
I think the MSRP is around $3800 USD. Nice to know you can drop it overboard in the middle of the Atlantic and probably pick it up on a sonar scan of the bottom!!!! Here's a link to the official website http://www.swiss-military.info/smvereng.html

Some day, this 300gram+, 12000 foot rated Swiss Millitary Diver will be mine!!!!!!! http://www.rruegger.ch/cx_swiss_military_1...mages_large.htm

Ordered a crema colored 24mm Alligator strap from Bob for my Bentley GT. Glad to hear about the quality. I just wish he sold them with a replica breitling clasp

Ms. King's Lv... Your Thoughts Please?
crystalcranium replied to fanito's topic in General Discussion
The King Swiss LV has one of the better looking dials of any of the LV models I've looked at including Luckyy's MBW LV and Joshs' perfect LV. Look at photos of an original LV and the reps side by side. The print fort and spacing on "Oyster Perpetual Date" under the crown logo is different than on previous models and King's LV is the only one I saw that reflects this change. Of course, look for a maxi dial but be aware of the metal wraps around the oversize hour markers. The markers on the MBW dial are thickly wrapped when only a thin metal band surrounds them on the genuine. Again, Kings' LV does a very good job here. Grown guards are passable but the crown itself is a little "ridge rounded". In all, if a better crown was available for Kings LV, I think, it comes closer to looking like the genuine than any of the others. -
Looks like some fool named "hoho" just bought it for about $1800. HaHa! With the scams that people get away with on ebay and that sites' complete disinterest with any kind of adequete policeing of its' transactions, the place is just a theives paradise.

Hey, the water resistance engraving on the back is correct 300m!!! Nice watch, minor flaws and a major projectile!

Thanks to By-Tor for a great resource. I agree the watch looks different from the closest match in this list but I would doubt anyone other than a Rolex vintage chronograph expert, given the 20 year production run and variants, would question its' authenticity. It is just visually stunning and yells vintage with its' no nonsense bezel and pushers. The bracelet is quite beautiful as well.

http://perfect-clones.com/rldv10014-dayton...7750-p-524.html It's beautiful and I don't know a thing about originals. Is it close???

Smells a liiiiittle bit like a tall frathouse tale to me . If it is all true, I also would have fired you anyway too!!!!
-
Congrats!!!! I've actually gotten the most praise for my reps from ADs and the reaction "Wow, why would you ever want to buy a genuine?" is pretty common. Not to start the whole luxury item debate again but if you can project first class and pay economy, you sound like a pretty smart cookie to me!!!

How much did you pay for them? I think any 2892 under $300 is probably a Sea-gul clone. Did your dealer specify it is a genuine ETA or just a 2892?
