  2. Yep, the whole world is happy. Obama has a 78% approval rateing amoung Aussis of voteing age (rember, everyone here, (and I meen EVERYONE) who is over 18 is required to vote). Our own PM would love to see those kind of figgers. Col.

Three days from post to arrival in AU. You can't knock EMS. If this one is OK I'll think I'l get my Quartz Navi straight away. Wounder what price she can do on one of those GMT11c like John got? Can she match TTK? Somehow I doubt ti but we will see. Damn it, why can't I take up cheaper and less adictive hobbys like herrion or crack? Col.
  4. Oh cr*p it's the cops! Told youse so! Col.
  5. Um, guanaco, I'v thought this great entertainment right up untill now. Please don't bring it into every thread you enter mate. That would quickly become annoying, mmkay? Col.
  6. Wow! This is more fun than a \me sits back in deckchair with pitcher of martoonies and awaits some more vintage RWG1 style owning. "Does it get any beter?" I reckon TT working just that little bit harder on that fence after this arvo. :ninjastar: I wonder how long it will be before all the results in somone geting and calling for and the arrive. Col.

  10. I just wish JB would show up somwhere. The URL still goes to a website so there's hope. If they had no wish to drag it up again they should at least give us the oportunity to do so. I'd be a lot happier if we had heard just one little peep from JB. His lack of appearence at RWI is begining to worry me. I WANT MY HOME BACK!!!! Col.
  11. They prety well know who, it's just catching him in the act. Real life unfortuanatly is not like CSI. Cops must hate that show. It gives the public an unrealistic expectation of what can be done and at the same time educates crims in what not to do. Col.
  12. Nice! I wanna see how good your SOSF is and I may just have to indulge. That price is too good to miss. Wonder if I can get the GMT11 whith the SOSF deal? That would be a lot of watch for the money. If not a DRSD for me. Okies, time to get some scratch together. Col.
  13. Pics or it didn't happen. Ok, went out and got a new camera cable so here they are. In the begining about a half hour after 581Alpha arrived we had them, a rural unit and one police car. Then the whole world began to arrive. This is only some of the support vehicles crowded arround the control vehicle (581A). There's more in a paddock out of shot including an ambulance aid station and Salvation Army canteen. The Auxillery Captain from Woodford briefs the Local Police sargent while the incident controler looks on. Later that night things got close where the fire had come down alongside us. This was puting the rental house on the lower corner of my place in danger as well as us. 581A at about 11pm with the fire in the back ground. The main front was actualy up the hill to the right of this photo but was still hours away in thick scrub. The flank in the back ground of this shot and in the last one had come down fast thru thinly treed areas with tall bladey grass. 928Victor, Cabulture's much loved water tanker makes life so much easier. Here she is about 1am filling up a rural appliance down on the road out front of my place. The next day about midday the main head is about to come say hello. This is the back of my place and is protected by a sprinkler system. This section of the head was moving slow so no real danger to the house with us there. The upper residence next door was a different story with a blady grass slope above. I was there when they started to backburn that and it went up like a bomb. To much to do to take pics at that time. 581Echo on day three. Sting was happy, smoke doesn't phase him and he had all these new friends. Crews staged on the road, day three. Late on day three and the last of the hot spots trickles arround the far end of our place. One of the protective sprinklers can be seen in the forground. The gutters can be filled and the walls and undersides of the verandas have sprays as well. And that's about that. Was too busey during the best bits to worry about cameras. At least I'm safe for the rest of the season. Regards, Col.
  14. Happy birthday Pugsey. I hopes dey fills yo bucket! Col.
  15. For the sake of our American friends (and other non soccer nations) I belive the insane piscene one is refering to the Manchester United Football Club. Maybe. Well, proberley anyway, who can tell for shure, it's Oscar after all... Col.
  16. Hangzhou are a big company responsible for some quality work. Extract below from china watch wiki: "The Hangzhou Watch Factory was established in the city of Hangzhou in 1972 with export rights granted from the outset. Initial production was the Standard watch, designated ZHZ. These watches were of higher than usual grade with 19 jewels and were branded Xihu (West Lake) after the famous landmark near the city. Xihu watches were at one time awarded the top national award for quality. As resources permitted, the factory introduced a new woman-sized watch with an in-house designed small calibre. These watches were also branded Xihu, and that name was also engraved on the movement. Meeting the challenge of a changing market in the 1980s, the factory introduced an automatic Xihu watch. This was a man-sized watch, but the movement was based on the small Xihu calibre with an enlarged dial plate and a very simple auto-winding module with a large rotor. In more recent times, the changing demands of the market required a higher grade of automatic movement, the 2000 series, which was developed based on the older Seiko calibre 7009 design, but with some detail differences such as a smaller balance wheel. Almost no parts are interchangeable between Seiko and Hangzhou calibres. Besides the basic date and day/date versions, there are also skeleton, triple-date, dual-time and jump-hour versions. The 2000 calibres have been used by many international brands, including Orion (Russia) and Stuhrling (with calibres designated 'Lexus'). Hangzhou Watch Company, are now partners with PTS Resources, Hong Kong. This has enhanced the company through investment in new PTS calibre designs, and has expanded Hangzhou's customer base, particularly at the premium end of the market." Sounds like one of the beter clones on the market and most likely found in more than a few of our reps. At a guess there's a lot of worse ones out there. Anyone got any personal experiance with this MVT? Col.
  17. Been there done that (long story). One thing, cheep diamonds are stolen diamonds and you can get kinda dead in that game. They play to a different set of rules over there. Especialy in the diamond control zones. Areas where the diamond companys security force has free run. They can allways call on the army if there's anything they can't handle. These fellas play for keeps and as a rule are highly traind experts rather than hired thugs. Anything you buy in the wild is shure to be capable of geting you in a motza of trouble. If you must I sugest a group effort along the lines of alpha's sugestion. Either that or you can do it the woosey way and I'll give you a name to talk to at the diamond strewen location of your choice. Of cause if that's the Congo (either of them) or Angola for example you'll still need Alpha's "security team" to enshure you get out in one piece. Col.
  18. TTKs shipping times appear to have improved markedly of late. Spoke to another gent on RWS who had his in under a month as well. If he can keep that up he'll be unbeatable. AT least among the biger dealers. Folks are going to have to try real hard to beat his prices and QC so if the shipping times stay good he's in a good position to put a cat amongst the pidgeons. That two for one deal is a corker! I'd be in both toose deals if I could afford it right now. Going to have to afford at least one of them tho. Too good to pass up. Col.
  19. NO ones eating the goats! Far too expensive and geting too old now anyway. Just had a light sprinkling of rain here. Just enough to take the stench from the fire out of the air at last. Col.
  20. Great watches. I've decided to add a Homer unbranded tiurby to the box one day. I think I'v decided on one like Vric's. The rose gold and blk looks great. If I could afford to I'd prob buy a white one as well for day wear. I concur unbranded is the way to go. For those who want to see what's available go to millionsmarts website. There's dozens of them. Homer should be able to get the one you want. If not I may know someone who can. Homer has parts, service and repairs for these jiggers as well so you'r not out in the cold if somthing goes wrong or a service is required. A watch smith used to tourbys should be happy to work on these, it ain't even a rep so you may find someone local and just require parts. I want one of these fellas real bad. Col.
  21. Now thats just plain wierd. Col.
  22. So do the twins if you look closley. They function as radiaters in hot climates. They pump blood thru them and their ears to cool it. Same way an elephant does. Col.
  23. Well, yes, if they got showen. The're used for breeding more goats that are then sold for good money for people to breed their stock from. You start with good blood lines and you get a good heard and thus more meat or milk. The're Anglo Nubians, a breed used for both. Col.
  24. Good find DB1. You don't happen to ride a big boiled lolly do you ? :-) Col.
