  1. The're registered breeders john. Not your average goat. Like a pure bred dog their bloodlines can be traced back for generations and their registed with the breeders assn. No one would use those two for meat. Goatlings are called Kids BTW and can be got for free 'round here if your not picky about linege. Col.
  2. MGI posted her pic back at RWG1 I don't appear to have kept a copy, ask John, I bet he did! Col.
  3. Oh Gawd, its spreading! I warn you they would only take that kind of attn for five , maybe six days before geting tired of it! Children love 'em. Big kids too aperantly. Col.
  4. Nope paid with PP. Yes, she's the one MGI appears to be grafted to. I stress, so far so good. This is the first buy and it will take three or four flawless transactions before I would recomend her to anyone without the caveat that she is untried and an unkowen quanity. As Klink would say, "Time will tell" but I am super impressed that either her or her watchsmith picked that tiny discrepency up. She is currently looking for an example of the earlyier, correct model for me. Most would just say "tough, this is it now". As for website, personaly I'd rather just send a pic and ask "how much?" No need to ask "can you?" She's at the QZ markets, if it's made she can source it. They will build special orders as well such as that gen MVT navi you guys were discussing, swap bracelets, dials ect. I think I'm in love (she's not exactly hard on the eyes either)! Col.
  5. Mary is a small dealer based in GZ who is very new arround here. Still unproven but showing signs of perhaps being a good person to deal with. She has a website but for the best prices it's best to work via Email. Send her a pic of what you want along with all the detail you have and she will find it for you. She is not on the dealer list here so I've sent you the details via PM so as not to upset the mods. Col.
  6. Update: There was a email from Mary in my box this AM saying she had noticed that the watch was marked "ROME" instead of "ROMA" like the first example sh took pics of (CarbonGolds have one of 26 city names on the dial below the 3 subdial). Asking if this is OK or should she try for the Roma one. Most dealers would not have even noticed let alone cared enough to ask. That's the kind of service I want from a dealer. Having chked a gen the Itialian spelling of ROMA is correct so I'v asked her to supply that if she can. If not, well it's a 60 buck rep, can't get too anal. Maybe another V2 less acurate than the V1? Somone prob thought they were correcting a spelling error :-) Nice to know she chks her watches before sending them out. Lets hope it continues. Now we wait and see what turns up. Col.
  7. Ya, in this thread we should be not talking about fires instead of not talking about watches. Geeeez get with the program. Yes, they were bought for breeding. That's Lilly and Lenny. Both girls but named by a cpl of kids, the human kind that is. Lilly on left Lenny on riight. Mum was a blue ribbon champ at the state fair. They have done some work for advertising as well. Oscar ain't the only one who thinks there cute. Col.
  8. Yes I know. What I was saying was if I find RWI can be tough at times I'd find RG much harder to take. Sorry LOS. This was not suposed to be about your moding style. There are huge differences between the way the two foura are run. Col.
  9. John, I doubt very much if that method would work. Satisifying, but not productive. I've had a few nice cars in the past. None ATM, just driving a Subi 4x4 wagon. '86 L series. Leonie wagon to you guys (I think) turbo 1.8. It's fun if you learn to use torque instead of power. A hundred fifty HP can go a long way if theres a bit of grunt behind it and the torque curve on this thing heads skywards and stays there. Basicly standered except for the reprogramed comp, OTB intercooler and 200SX injectors. I'v had a 308 Ferrari for a while, a Marcos, Jag XJS coupe, '89 IROC, 930T amongst others. Most for no more than a year or less. I had a great '78 450SEC for ages. It was an South Africa model with a four speed manual and LSD. The engine had been built by somone who new fast mercs and the 5 litre transplant was puting out 400hp at the rear wheels! It was a benz that performed like a big block Camero. Those benz quad cams are real good engines when built by somone who knows what th're doing. I started out with a string of Minis ending in a Cooper S puting out 120 plus HP. That was fun! I'll try to find some pics but most of the early stuff in on tranny and I don;t have a slide scanner. One day I'll have them all done but it won't be cheap. There's five thousand odd tranparencys there. There is a secret to owning older expensive cars. Buy very wisely and don't get too attached. I have taken months to find the right car. Books are all important. Full documented dealer or specialist serviceing is far more important than the milage on the clock. I would much rather have a higher milege example with a good service history than a lower one thats history is unknowen. Unless you are in a position to pay for potentialy expensive repairs be prepared to start looking for a new drive in a year or two. You spent all that time finding a good car that would give you trouble free motoring. Now sell it while it still does. When this stuff breaks, it costs real money. Ever priced suspension components for a jag? A brake system rebuild? Or, heaven forbid, an engine rebuild? The whole idea is to pass it on BEFORE it gives trouble. Twenty thousand miles or so is quite enough even for a good one.If you bought well and have taken care of your moden classic the drop in value should be minimal. If you'r lucky it may even have appreciated a little bit. The advantage of this is that you get to pick a new car every year or two. The pain of parting with the E30 M3 is soon blunted by the arival of the 928s. Col.
  10. ROFLMAO Swilzerland! :-) Heeeeey! Maybe, just may be its one of those rare missing link replicas like the sub John tracked down and you can sell it to him for a tidy profit! Col.
  11. Well! WTFs it say and ask the lad to get over here! :-) Yo'all better not be josh'n now JG. Col.
  12. I'll mosey on for a read. That's about where I left that thread. Some folk just don't have our wacky sence of humor. Col.
  13. Maybe, if you ask TT real nice. . . Now I miss the hundred odd posts on my old trailboss99 acount. Don't know what happend. Just befere the great darkness came across RWG1 it stoped responding to what I thought was the password and when I tried to recover it the page told me it had mailed my PW to my mailbox but nothing ever showed up. Didn't think it was worth bothering the mods with. Even stoped posting here untill the darkness. I do thank the lads/lasses for lending us their bin but, I want my RWG-1 back! Col
  14. As much as I would love to read that thread I have no intention of joining the spartens. Hell. I reckon LOS rules with an iron fist (no offence intended mate) I wouldn't last ten minutes there. If I.ve got somthing to say, I say it. Col.
  15. Finaly completed the the order for the BV from Mary yesterday. One Bvlgari CarbonGold should be winging its way to me by this arvo. This is a first order from Mary so we will see what happens. Its a quartz rep but so is the gen. A review of both the warch and the service will follow as soon as it arrives before it's sent off to it's new owner. I know this guy could afford the gen without lowering the level of cash in his car ashtray so 'im asuming he wants to see how it wears before geting a real one. Not so hard to throw away 120 odd bucks compared to between 1200 and three grand depending on the city of your choice. Anyway, tracking number has been promised this arvo and knowing EMS the watch should be in my hands sometime 'round wed or thurs at the latest. The speed of their service amazes me. I can't get stuff that fast by parcel post from the other side of AU. Mary has made a good start by promptly sending after payment so lets see what happens from here. With any luck we have found a good dealer right at the heart of the action in GZ. No dropshiping here at any rate . There had beter not be anyway as I have been assured that she (and her watch maker) handles every watch she sells. Could be a very popular choice of dealer if she keeps her prices as low as possible since cost is very important at the moment. She certainly found what I wanted in record time. Not shure what to go for next, thinking a quartz Navi just to see how they wear on my wrist. I want a Swiss 7750 one eventualy but am not spending those bucks without finding out how it looks on me. Then maybe a GMT like john just got from TTK. I'mm shure I can do a little bit beter on price and a whole lot beter on delivery time! Two mths! Bah! I don't care if it was free. In fact to wait that long it would want to be. I might see if she can source some of those in the cheapie thread as well. Some of those were real nice for 39 bucks. Sides with the exchange rate that's about what I'll be spending mostly for a while and I'd rather not go thru cqout. /Me: sighs, taps fingers on desk. "I hate waiting, is it here yet?" Col.
  16. Oscar, the pound is poor ATM? . Try dealing with our non esistant dollar! .64 this AM OOOh! it's come up a cpl of cents. At least you can buy in euros with out too much loss mate. A quartz Bvlgari cost me $117 shipped yesterday. A mth or so ago it would have been 85 bucks. If I wanted a 300USD rep I would be paying $438.81 now THAT hurts. Cheapies for me as well. Of cause so many are in the same boat we may see prices come down at the source. Aperantly the resession is starting to bite in CN. Keep that cheapies thread going folks. We're gunna need it. Col.
  17. Your average registered breed goat is worth considerably more than 10 bucks Onz. The bobsy twins for example cost me 800 the pair and they were cheap. Col.
  18. TT must read these posts and start woundering if he can fence off the loony bin in case we stay around. /me Goes to lock up goats in fish proof enclosure. "first the vegetable patch had to be Jameo proofed now this!" Col.
  19. Thats one hell of a watch for 135 bucks! Good one John. Col.
  20. "hang firestarters" Over a slow fire. At least I got to do some work today. Still can't find that damn USB cable. Col.
  21. I pinched this from somone on here I think. I'v been trying to get a shot of mine doing the same thing from their shed. Goats love peering 'round things.
  22. Alpha, you meen this one? The Bobsy twins. Col.
  23. LOL, actualy they showed no fear at all. No sence, no feeling. Had to stop 'em wandering up to the fire line whilst it was burning. They've just discovered a gully full of yummy stuf they could not reach due to undergroth before so they'll be happy untill the feed truck arrives tomorrow with hay and corpra. Col.
  24. All over. Just been chatting to Firebird who's been overhead having a looky and appart from one hot spot he droped a single load on it's all out. Still a few wisps of smoke but apart from that, all quiet. Now its time to figer out just how big my feed bill is gunna be for the next two or three mths and wounder where this fool is gunna hit next. Doubt we'll have long to wait. Had to laugh, went outside just after sunrise this morning and the goat pack were all standing in a huddle stareing at the black with an expresion that said "WTF are we suposed to eat now" There all lying arround looking depresed now. Col.
