Um, may I sugest that "Off Topic" may have been a beter place for truck posts in a watch forum? To answer the question, Yes, I belive it was. Col.
  2. WE'RE BACK!!! RWG1 is back in business!! After weeks of waiting for our home to reapear we have rebuilt her. Unfortunately the origenal data base appears to be lost to us forever but the forum is back online. Not just back but now stable and with no added CPU errors! The high sugar and caffine contrents remain however Most of this is due to the work of Greg_r who has put in much hard work replicateing the forum to perfection. We have achived a 1:1 rep here folks! Can't tell it from the origenal. Well, oke, Dave123 has several thousand less on his post count than before but not much else has changed. The other person to be thanked is JohnG without whose constant calls to "do somthing guys" and his hearding us all into a group here in the first place it never would have happened. Many thanks as well for the support from both TT and D4M. The decision to go ahead was made a lot easier with the encourgement of these and others. TT and the other admin here deserve a special thanks for puting up with us spaming up your bin for so long. Sorry boys it's a bit of a mess. Don't know what those stains are, don't wanna. Send us the bill. Thanks as well to By-Tor who has made his body of work avaliable to swell our review pages (yes every now and again we talk watches) and to the others who have helped allong the way. So, without further ado, you are all invited to share in opening day of the new yet old RWG1.1. Come over and have a look, stay awhile and enjoy. www.replica-watch-guide.net And now as we pack up our rubber chickens and exit stage left we will leave RWG2 to the serious side of rep collecting. Not that we're going far, we'l be back and forth as we allways were before. So long and thanks for all the fish!! Regards, Col. Trailboss99. RWG1 Team.
  3. Yeah, wouldn't be near the top of my PP list either. Ahh what the heck, it's only money! A half mill for a JD? Sheeeesh! Col.
  4. IMO you can find the current bargin PP HERE. See what you think. The thing about PP is no one is going to call you out on one anyway. So very few know the brand well enough to do so and there are so many variations in the gen. Anyone wanna coment on that one above please do, I'm thinking of one. Col.
  5. Agree with greg. The JBLs on this ain't bad but I reckon with a propper pair of phones I may get 17. I'm quite chuffed I can still hear that high. Col.
  6. Just allways was good at freq range. As i said it's no use if there's background noise my hearings stuffed. For some reason I have no probs listitening to three radio comms chann at once. Comes with the ability to be instantly awake at one of a number of key words on the scanner that's on 24/7. I sleep thru 98% of radio traffic but if there's an indicator that its local my brain picks up on that ann kindly wakes me. It's a trick I learned as a radio op on ship. You soon learn that you can't be awake every minute and learn to wake up at trafic of interest. There's a repeater in your cabin which if you'r the senior/only opp is usualy right beside the radio room. That's great yntill the seas come up and you rember what a difference being 60 odd feet above sea level makes to a roll. Considering what I've put my ears thru aver the years I don't know why there still so good. I should prob be at least half deaf by now. Col.
  7. Good find. I can hear 16KHz at 42 so I'm happy. I think I may do beter with a pair of headphones rather than crappy speakers. Must get a new 5.1 sound card so I can plug the Creatives in again. Allways have had good hearing. Discrimitry hearing is crap tho. Can't make out a conversation in a noisey room but I can hear a pin drop! Air craft do that to you. Col.
  8. After Sundays havoc we coped another bad lot last night with flooding and high winds. The same thing is happening again now. I was out most of last night and expect they'll want us back tomorrow. I have some amazing pics, just don't have time to upload to PB riight now. I'm juggleing forua, PMs and Emails while trying to catch up on paperwork. I was going to link to tonights edition of the 7.30 Report on the ABC (Oz style) but chking the link took me to Lateline Business instead. Interesting considering it hasn't aired yet! I'll se if it's been fixed in the morning. Pics when time allows. Col.
  9. To the citizens of the United States of America from Her Sovereign Majesty Queen Elizabeth II In light of your immediate failure to financially manage yourselves and also in recent years to elect incompetent Presidents of the USA therefore not be able to govern yourselves, we hereby give notice of the revocation of your independence, effective immediately. (You should look up 'revocation' in the Oxford English Dictionary.) Her Sovereign Majesty Queen Elizabeth II will resume monarchical duties over all states, commonwealths, and territories (except Kansas, which she does not fancy). Your new Prime Minister, Gordon Brown, will appoint a Governor for America without the need for further elections. Congress and the Senate will be disbanded. A questionnaire may be circulated sometime next year to determine whether any of you noticed. To aid in the transition to a British Crown dependency, the following rules are introduced with immediate effect: ----------------------- 1. The letter 'U' will be reinstated in words such as 'colour,' 'favour,' 'labour' and 'neighbour.' Likewise, you will learn to spell 'doughnut' without skipping half the letters, and the suffix '-ize' will be replaced by the suffix '-ise.' Generally, you will be expected to raise your vocabulary to acceptable levels. (look up 'vocabulary'). ------------------------ 2. Using the same twenty-seven words interspersed with filler noises such as ''like' and 'you know' is an unacceptable and inefficient form of communication. There is no such thing as U.S. English. We will let Microsoft know on your behalf. The Microsoft spell-checker will be adjusted to take into account the reinstated letter 'u'' and the elimination of '-ize.' ------------------- 3. July 4th will no longer be celebrated as a holiday. ----------------- 4. You will learn to resolve personal issues without using guns, lawyers, or therapists. The fact that you need so many lawyers and therapists shows that you're not quite ready to be independent. Guns should only be used for shooting grouse. If you can't sort things out without suing someone or speaking to a therapist, then you're not ready to shoot grouse. ---------------------- 5. Therefore, you will no longer be allowed to own or carry anything more dangerous than a vegetable peeler. Although a permit will be required if you wish to carry a vegetable peeler in public. ---------------------- 6. All intersections will be replaced with roundabouts, and you will start driving on the left side with immediate effect. At the same time, you will go metric with immediate effect and without the benefit of conversion tables. Both roundabouts and metrication will help you understand the British sense of humour. -------------------- 7. The former USA will adopt UK prices on petrol (which you have been calling gasoline) of roughly $10/US gallon. Get used to it. ------------------- 8. You will learn to make real chips. Those things you call French fries are not real chips, and those things you insist on calling potato chips are properly called crisps. Real chips are thick cut, fried in animal fat, and dressed not with catsup but with vinegar. ------------------- 9. The cold, tasteless stuff you insist on calling beer is not actually beer at all. Henceforth, only proper British Bitter will be referred to as beer, and European brews of known and accepted provenance will be referred to as Lager. Australian beer is also acceptable, as Australia is pound for pound the greatest sporting nation on earth and it can only be due to the beer. They are also part of the British Commonwealth - see what it did for them. American brands will be referred to as Near-Frozen Gnat's Urine, so that all can be sold without risk of further confusion. --------------------- 10. Hollywood will be required occasionally to cast English actors as good guys. Hollywood will also be required to cast English actors to play English characters. Watching Andie Macdowell attempt English dialogue in Four Weddings and a Funeral was an experience akin to having one's ears removed with a cheese grater. --------------------- 11. You will cease playing American football. There are only three kinds of proper football; one you call soccer, Australian Rules and rugby (dominated by the Australians). Those of you brave enough will, in time, be allowed to play rugby (which has some similarities to American football, but does not involve stopping for a rest every twenty seconds or wearing full kevlar body armour like a bunch of nancies). --------------------- 12. Further, you will stop playing baseball. It is not reasonable to host an event called the World Series for a game which is not played outside of America. Since only 2.1% of you are aware there is a world beyond your borders, your error is understandable. You will learn cricket, and we will let you face the Australians (again World dominators) first to take the sting out of their deliveries. -------------------- 13. You must tell us who killed JFK. It's been driving us mad. ----------------- 14. An internal revenue agent (i.e. tax collector) from Her Majesty's Government will be with you shortly to ensure the acquisition of all monies due (backdated to 1776). --------------- 15. Daily Tea Time begins promptly at 4 p.m. with proper cups, with saucers, and never mugs, with high quality biscuits (cookies) and cakes; plus strawberries (with cream) when in season. ------------------ God Save the Queen!
  10. Hey folks. Back from day one. What a mess! Worse I'v seen in Brisbane. Looks just like a smaller version of Inisfail after Larry was finished. Here's some pics. We wern't in the worst hit area to day but tomorrow may bring some more interesting shots. NTH Brisbane SES (state emergency service, a volenteer org) HQ with the two Fire and Rescue USAR (urban search and rescue) trucks from 1 and 2 stations pulled up loading tarps ect. First job, doesn't look too bad execpt for the fact it's a new car and a tinny (small ally boat) holding the roof up. Not so great from the back. Getting there. Wonder where the roof went? Ah, there it is. Over the road and a hundred meters down the side street. Arana hills SES depo. Home for the next few days. If I'm not out in the field I'l be upstairs here helping run the IMT (Incedent Management Team). By 15.00 today there was a pile of about 150 pizza boxes under the stairs. Pizza, the most commenly eaten prepared food by counter disaster teams world wide. You can eat pizza with one hand leaving the other free and greaseless. The lunch today was KFC. Bad move around paperwork. Every job order and sitrep issued for an hour after lunch was served had grease all over it. Every other building on this blokes place had a tree in it inc his house. This was the stables. "OK, this should be interesting. No damage, yet." Branch by branch. Right, back the truck up into next door (glad there not home to complain about the lawn, the new Bear Claws realy grip!) Out with a chain and . . . Awayyyy we go! If I get time I'll post some more tomorrow night. Col.
  11. Interesting. I've referenced it allready. Col.
  12. Josh has a nice PP i'm thinking of picking up myself. $128 seems a bit of a bargin. The webpage for it is HERE That will do me nicely for a dress watch. Any comments on the accuracy of this one folks? Regards, Col.
  13. I actualy prefer the very plain 3H to the civy version. The crown at 4 makes a nice change as well. Note the markerless bezel. With rebreathers your endurance is mesured off the hour hand! It's just so unadorned and allmost stark. The MKII shows this to even more effect with even less on the dial. It allmost feels like it belongs in the Tate. The problem here lies with the fact that allthough bound to be popular here on the boards it prob won't do that well out in the wild. Joe average won't buy it in droves. And Joe buys many more watches than we do 'cause there's ten million Joes out there and about thirty thousand of us. Col.
  14. Brisbane, the state capital about an hour down the road got bits of it's self absalutly hamered by a storm last night. Whole suburbs look like a tornado hit. 230,000 folk had no power last night and 30,000 odd still don't. I;m takeing a crew from the brigade down with chain saws to give the State Emergency Service guys a hand. Yes, the camera is packed you lot of jackels! Still I would rather been in the middle of that (I love my nice, safe, protected box canyon) than in So-Cal ATM. Those poor bastereds are in all kinds of crap. If it keeps up I'll see you in a cpl of weeks LOS 'cause I'm on the deployment list for the IMS team this time 'round. We usualy get a cpl days winddown time before they stick 80-100 wired FFs on a plane for 18hrs. My sincere hope is that's it's all over and my brother fire fighters are all safe. Up to 1100 structures, 9000 hectares burnt out and 50.000 evac orders handed out. Damn, that's a big fire. I think tomorrow could be a busey day. Unfortunately it's still raining as well. Five thousand fallen trees, chainsaws and rain . . . Home owners shouldn't be able to just go out and buy a chain saw. Col.
  15. Actualy there's two. Bill Yao's company MKII enterprises makes a homage version of the 3H model used by German Navy combat divers. The gen 3H The MKII homage. The gen BP MVT Note the size of the O ring seal! If they make a 50 they should make an 3H as well. They would make a nice pair in a double box. Col.
  16. +1 I was just thinking the same thing not five minutes ago. Currently trolling "other" for PP posts. Col.
  17. I hope to be faceing the same dillema if the AUD ever improves against the greenback. I don't have an answer yet. I asume any competent WM should be able to remove the MVT and crystall. You could buy a spare crystal of Homer along with the watch and send that off so your watch is not siting without a crystal for too long. I want the black on rose gold one (like Vrit's) and AR is going to be a must. Col.
  18. Yes, I think you will find there is more to this yet. Somone hacked into the admin panel and was playing arround when tossed out. It wasn't John. How do I know? I was there. I saw it happen It's log'd. There is still another party involved here who so far is geting away with it. Thank you sconehead. Fakey's Fakey and that's that. Neither him or Dave abide fools and since they share this opinion of each other not much will change on that front. LOL, half my friends seem to be at war with each other ATM. I consider FM a friend. An anoying one at times but a friend and a good bloke. John's a brother, Phil is somone I respect and would like to know beter and even Dave is basicly a good bloke at heart. Opinionated? Selfimportant? Yeah, at times but that's just Dave. He didn't get to where he is by being nice all the time. I think if you worked for Dave and he said "jump" the only question would be "how high?". In return I think you would be rewarded very well indeed for a job well done. Ah well. At least there all still talking to me, so far. John, either pipe up here or PM me please. I'm leaving you be but would like to hear from you bro. Col.
  19. I don't think I'd ask a Russian developer man where he gets his watches : Sounds a nice guy but yes, be carefull. All recent auto Tags are out because they all have display backs (at least all we get here in Oz) and that presents a problem if he happens to know Tag. You could of cause just go and buy a gen Tag quartz or a rep of one. That's a respectable watch in a price range you can afford and shows that you do have an intrest within your means. Or of cause there's brands like Hamilton or Ball ect where you can pick up a nice gen for well under a grand. Have a look at the GUG (Gens Under a Grand) forum at RWI. Do a great job and he may decide you deserve beter! Col.
  20. LOL, some ones on to the Tudor. They'l read this here anyhow. You can bet on it. Col.
  21. Dave I'm not gunna drag this thread off topic and into a screaming heap so I will say this much only. WTF does my membership of RWS have to do with folk being angry at John? I have no admin rights there. I just got a preety ribbon 'cause I spend the time to answer posts. My crime there? Not giving a stuff about what admin may or may not be up to 'cause it's none of my concern would be a good start. I do however recognise your right to feel angered and annoyed by this transgresion. A right you see no reason to extend to others. You appear to think they should grow up and get over it. Well, that's up to them. Just the same as it's up to you to form an oppinion on the Thor matter. You my friend, like all of us are one voice. That's all you will ever be. so untill reinforced by more voices your view is just one of many and I suspect advice not too many will take. There's some pretty pi5ed off people out there. I think this should be delt with as quickly as possible including looking into who the "not John"s were. There's still a hacker running arround lose here (rep land, not this bord specificly) somwhere. Everyone involvrd in pulling that place down should be brought to account regardless of it's ownership. This is the sort of thing we don't want to happen again, EVER. regards, Col.
  22. Your lack of concern over the misapropreation of your IP and identity is duly noted. You will, however, understand that that has NO BEARING WHAT SO EVER on the fact that quite a few folk do feel agrived.Aperantly they have yet to achive your all most zen like state of calm and forgivness. I'l forgive John for this one but my forgivness is a long way down the list he needs to seek. Klink has forgiven him but I suspect a lot of others may not be so forthcomming. Not without reason. I feel sorry for ya John but you got your self into this mess and now you just gotta take it on the chin and go with whatever comes next. Regards, Col.
  23. John, I've calmed down now. You'r still a F-nuckle but I lov's ya bro. You screwed up man. You crossed the line and you'r paying. This self imolation thing is begining to worry me tho. Please stop punnishing yourself and let those who have been wronged make that desicion. People who beg for the death penalty have to be of concern. Could you PM/email or call me please? I can't find your PH#. I think you need to talk about this. Col.
  24. That had best not be an atempt at humor. Wrong thread for that. If it's not, wait five while I digest that piece iof nfo . . . Col.
